Coquette, nestled cozily between Bombala and Expat in the West Loop, was the perfect place to meet with an old foodie friend and catch up. After not being able to find the entrance, I walked into Bombola and a very friendly sous chef ushered me into Coquette through the back. I love walking into a space and it's everything I hoped it would be. And with French restaurants, I expect even more. Coquette, with its stylish decor, warm lighting and chill vibe, was giving the promise of a great time. After my chica and I ordered cocktails---she, the Not Royal but Regal and I, the Bonjour Cassandra-- we immediately launched into an epic 2024 Sex and the City dialogue that caught the attention of the nosy male half of the couple next to us. After politely brushing him off, he continued to ear hustle on our convo, interjecting his unsolicited opinions on our current state of dating. Fuck off homeboy, is what we really wanted to say when his date rolled her eyes and looked disgusted, but we gave our very best and fakest laughs, rudely turned away and obviously lowered our voices. Now, on to the vittles. French food is very simple, yet utterly delicious with rich sauces, vivacious herbs and lotsa butter! We decided to share plates and ordered the lamb merguez stuffed dates, butternut squash ravioles, cauliflower au gratin and the wood-fired salmon. Yes, indeed to everything! Each dish was wonderful, but the standout for me was the salmon...perfect preparation and deliciously seasoned. Our server was friendly, informative and attentive, yet allowed us to engage in the much-needed girl talk we REALLY came for. I wouldn't recommend Coquette for big groups or even a place to bring rowdy kids for dinner, but rather for dates and gal-pals who need to relax and unwind in a sophisticated setting. Can't wait to come back!

I made the mistake of coming here after having a heavy and late lunch, so I feel bad that I didn't get to try any of the wonderful sounding appetizers that were on the menu. The color palette inside of the restaurant is uplifting and interesting. I got some fun photos while there. I had the "Bitter? Yes. But So Am I" cocktail and loved it. There were many cocktails from the menu I wanted to try. I ordered the Magret De Canard (aged duck breast) and liked it. The duck was tender and had a nice flavor. I would love to try popular food options like the steak tartare, french onion soup, and Beef Wellington next time.

Easiest 5 stars of my life, and honestly, I'd give them 6 if I could! Coquette really goes the extra mile, and they deserve to be recognized for that.Upon entry, you will be struck by the retro-barbie-core decor. It's funky, but modern- a perfect date spot or girls night spot. The happy hour specials are not to be missed. 12 oysters for $12! Unbeatable. My friend and I ordered 2 dozen and they were accompanied by the most delicious dipping sauce (possibly a shallot vinaigrette?). The dining experience was elevated by a complimentary bread service. Freshly baked rolls and a shallot butter. DELICIOUS! For our meal, we tried: Bavette (10 day aged steak) (tender and cooked to our liking with delicious accompanying shallot sauce), Sea Bass (paired with roasted veggies- so good), and Pomme Purée (which our server, Brendan described as 60% butter, 40% potatoes- and o.m.g. so worth it). To end the meal, we had a chocolate tarte. Lots of layers of varying chocolates, and topped with gold leaf! To drink, Brendan suggested Chenin Blanc because they were out of sauv blac, and I can say that I am now a Chenin Blanc girly. He also offered us an after dinner bev made from apple brandy and bubbles- loved it!!Next time, I want to try: Artichoke Carpaccio, Parisian Gnocchi, Steak Tartare, the Saint Jacques (scallops), and Entremet Cake for dessert. Overall, I LOVED this place. The decor and Instagram influencers brought me in, but the excellent staff and delicious food will make me a forever fan!

The food was amazing... made to order with great options for food and drinks. Our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and how to assist with drink options. Nice setting for small groups or a date. For a French restaurant to have a chef from France is also a bonus. Male, female and gender neutral bathrooms. Parking is the only issue but it's Chicago what did you expect. Music was great to set the mood and vibe of theGo on a Thursday night and enjoy the time.

Made reservations for restaurant week dinner. The restaurant is on the smaller side and consists of one large room and a small bar. The $59 restaurant week deal consists of 4 courses.1st course - cauliflower soup, which was very good and had a great cauliflower/broccoli flavor2nd course - steak tartare - really good! Creamy and had a nice consistency, went well with the chips3rd course - boeuf bourguignon - delicious and hearty. Nice mix of meat and vegetables. The beef definitely stood out because it was extremely tender and flavorful. 4th course - dessert tart - reminded me of key lime pie because of the tart and consistency. Very good. Overall, the food and service were great. My friends ordered some of the other restaurant week options and they all looked delicious. Yes, it was a bit of a wait for the table because of restaurant week, so not going to take off stars because that comes with the territory.

I enjoyed a night out with friends at Coquette on a Friday. The interior was beautiful and fun, very unique too. The staff were kind and brought out surprises as it was my friends birthday dinner! We ordered cocktails and I got the espresso martini. It was good but nothing special. The happy hour was a great deal and we also all ordered the burger on the menu. The burger was very salty but it did have a good overall taste. We also shared the Gnocchi and this was delicious! I loved the taste of it and how light it was.

Celebrated a birthday here! The group was welcomed with a glass of champagne. The room has a pink Parisian vibe, very beautifully done. It happened to be happy hour as well, which goes to 7 pm. We tried the burger and it was good but a bit too salty for the four of us. Wouldn't order again but we had other dishes including the gnocchi and that was divine! Would like to return for the beef Wellington. After our meal we were invited behind the bar for a tasting of a speciality liquor. It was fun ending to the night and felt very personable. Great for celebrating, especially a girls night! Ps. Check out the bathroom, adorable!

Came here with my bestie for our monthly catch up + happy hour. Let me cut right to the chase and let you know that I had a BLAST! 10/10 on the service from both of our bartenders. They were amazing and very friendly. They recommended their fav drinks and they were so tasty and definitely hit the spot. No complaints on the liquor pour at all. The video i attached shows just how beautiful the ambiance is and it's so relaxing. Perfect for a HH after work!Burger was AMAZING and full of flavors that I can't even explain! The bartender explained to us that the chef himself was not allowed to have burgers growing up so he created his own personal version and might I say for some one who didn't eat them all their life he sure did create a masterpiece. The meat was cooked to perfection, their was a smoked taste and the sauces blended oh so well.I wasn't expecting to be given caviar with our champagne but it was such a special touch!

A french spot worthy to showcase in Chicago! Coquette is a whimsical, fun, a funky fresh retro space. With the Barbie opening, this restaurant could serve as the perfect backdrop for a lunch, dinner or drink spot. While it has looks, it came through with taste! There were a couple of HH drink and food specials. I didn't know that their French 75 came with a "bump" with caviar. Bitter, Yes, so am I was also was a well balanced cocktail. The HH burger with chips - amazing. The server told me it was the best burger, I took it with a pinch of salt. I will say, he was right. The burger, so juicy, with a bit of a funk from the cheese was the perfect kind of grease and can give any "best burger" in Chicago a run for that competition. We sat at the bar and Brendan, you can't miss with the barspoon tattoo, was super chill, professional and knowledgeable. He told us a bit of the items on the menu and new and exciting spirits in the bar that will be coming up soon. After all the amazing food/drink and experience, we ask for a rec on dessert, and went with the Apple Tart. It took about 20 minutes, we started wondering if they forgot... and boy, was it worth the wait!! The crust was flaky, buttery with a perfectly baked apple rosette and a side of beautiful ice cream made with fresh herbs - lavender/thyme/rosemary. This is an adult and fancy apple pie and the execution of this bake, it would receive the Paul Hollywood handshake.

I thought I reviewed this and I'm so sorry don't see my review. This place was absolutely wonderful. The ambiance of the whole restaurant and experience of beautiful and tasty food dishes were so great. The service was outstanding! Some friends of mine came here for a friend's bday dinner and we had some great laughs, good photo ops, great food and great drinks. I highly recommend for a good date night or a little group dinner. We also had a little wine tasting with our server Brendan (sorry if I misspelled that). He was absolutely great! The kitchen is open for customers to admirer and enjoy the passion behind the Chefs (literally when you walk into the restaurant you can see the open flames and the chefs doing what they love best, providing great food!).
