We had a great time here for dinner! Parking lot was packed and we ended up parking next door (no issues). We showed up as walk-ins. It was busy! The hostess offered us a quieter place to sit as the main restaurant was quite full with only 2 bar seats coming soon. We opted for the bar seats. The vibe was our style. Lively and friendly. Drink menu has a LARGE variety and the bartender was really fun, efficient, and made fabulous recommendations! Sat between two other couples who also ordered the short rib.. spent our whole meal in conversation. (All life/longterm locals)Do yourself a favor and order the Short rib with the Mac and cheese!! It was divine. Hot Chicken & beignets.. OMG.. The spicy/sweet combo would bring me back! It was so good.We will totally come back here!

Overall great experience, my scallops were amazing! My food allergy was accommodated which was super nice of them to make modifications. Downside, their NA drinks are pretty overpriced, I paid $14 for some strawberry puree, lime, mint and soda water so not happy about that. And dessert came out burnt, but they refried that for us so that was cool, I'm just surprised they charged us for it. Our bartender/server was sweet, good vibes! Just be prepared to chill if you're eating here, it's not a prompt kind of in and out service.

A nice lounge/bar concept, but I guess come here with patience as there seems to be a common theme of slowness and understaff. At this time, there were only two employees(noticeable in the front): hostIng, taking orders, serving, making drinks, and cleaning during Sundays Brunch. Even though the restaurant is relatively small, it took 10-15 minutes before the waiter took our drink orders. Then another 15 minutes before taking our food orders. Food: The NY steak hash- for $27, we were expecting like 8-10 ounces of meat, but got maybe like 4 oz and that's me being nice. The meat was so tough and overcooked, and had to dig around the fried potatoes chips to find our steak. 2/5Smash burgers- definitely better than the steak hash, and would recommend it. Meat was juicy and flavorful, but egg, I was expecting yolk to gush out as I bite down however it was cooked all the way. 3.5/5Fried tomatoes- 5/5 highlight of the meal. Batter was perfectly seasoned and fried. Additionally the balsamic gives it that tangy complexity. (I withheld the goat cheese on the side.)

AMAZING happy hour! We had a great time sitting at the bar. Kylie was an excellent bartender. It wasn't super busy, but the ambience in the place is super cute so I feel like people are missing out.We had the pimento and pickles if it was fried pickles and they were super tasty as well as a side of fries also yum. And then we had this Smashburger on happy hour and the crab cake appetizer. The Smashburger was delicious. The crabcakes were good but they weren't my favorite in town, it had kind of large pieces of onion, which weren't my fave but it was different. Happy hour drinks for a good price and delicious!

I don't know. Maybe because I was a single at the bar. Took quite awhile for anyone to talk to me to get a drink order. Then twenty minutes in still no one has asked me how anything is or if I may want food. It's not that busy. There's a couple at the bar with me but they ate. It seems like I'm making people uncomfortable that I'm alone.I was excited to try some food but I can't even get a menu. It's very pretty and the speakeasy feeling is cool. Lack of wanting people to purchase food is weird. I guess I'll finish my drink and go somewhere else to eat.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. We'd driven by several times so decided to come by for date night.Came in about 5:30p on a Friday night and sat at the bar first for a happy hour drink and snack. Bartender was super nice. We each had a cocktail and ordered the grilled fish tacos. Very good. I'd get sauce on the side next time as it was a little heavily dressed but would definitly get again.About a half hour later it was time for stage two and asked for a table. We chose to sit outside. They have a nice and comfy patio and it was super nice outside.Greeted quickly by our great waitress. We ordered two more drinks and decided to order to Frito Misto which is basically a fried seafood combo (small shrimp, calamari, zucchini, scallops). I've had this all over the world and you can't do it better. Very lightly breaded/battered and lightly and beautifully fried. So good. For dinner we decided to share the Osso Bucco, a Ceasar salad and side of mac and cheese. All super good. The Ceasar dressing had quite a punch. It was very good but I mixed to much in so some bites were a little much but I guess that is my fault. Mac and cheese was great. Perfect amount of cheesyness and great flavor. Osso bucco melted in our mouth and fell off the bone. It is accompanied by some beans and collared greens which we both loved. Prices felt reasonable and we left a very happy couple!Side note is that they were only about half full. This place should be packed on a Friday after being open for 5 months now. Tell your friends and support this local restaurant!Other side note is there is a very cool speak easy kind of bar next door. We peeked in and it looked great.GO HERE

We had a great experience here on Sunday for brunch! The food was ah-May-zing. The bartender/server we had was very personable. Seems like many restaurants now aren't using much a/c and we tend to get hot after being somewhere for a while but we did not have this experience here. We will be back!

Nothing like ending the week on a Friday night with a great meal and friends. We were deciding on three different restaurants and chose C&S based solely on the pics and it did not disappoint. RARELY do pics do the actual meal justice, as they are usually modeled like a Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, this restaurant is the exception!Located in a small blink and you'll miss it brick building in old downtown Phoenix, the ambiance felt like a hidden speak easy when you opened the door. We got there around 5:15 and glad we did, since the dining area would be easy to fill with minimal seating and parking. One perk to a smaller space is the attention you get from your waiter. In this case it was Mike and he was very helpful at translating the menu into imagery since the descriptions were clear but difficult to choose from. The menu is simple and one sided, with a New Orleans flavor as the theme. Being a big New Orleans foodie I had my doubts but it was a well deserved comparison. The four of us all ordered something different and each dish was plated beautifully but not pretentious. We started with the black bean hummus which was a nice starter but would probably choose something different on our next visit. When the main dishes were served we had a NY Strip with waffle fries, blackened fish tacos, pork shanks, and shrimp and grits (mine). We all looked at each other's plates and were desperate to hear how each person enjoyed their first bite based on how delicious each plate looked. We sat in silence making satisfied noises and trying to convince each other who made the best choice. My shrimp and grits were generous, and tasted outstanding! No notes on my meal at all! Against our better judgment, we got the beignets which came in 3 doughy squares with powdered sugar and a pecan bourbon jam that was a perfect complement to the desert. At the end of the day (and week) you can go to a tired restaurant chain or you can stretch your taste pallet (and wallet all meals were over $17) and have a meal you will talk about and remember. The only challenging part to C&S is the size of the building but when you and your food are this good, that's your patrons problem. Yea, it's worth it!

Decided to give this restaurant a try. I like to consider myself a bit of a food and drink connoisseur. Especially since I've worked in the industry for over 10 years as a server and bartender (including a well known and liked restaurant in the area). I was with my friend, so I decided to sit at the main bar to start. I was feeling simple, so I began my night with two Tito's martinis. They were quite good, but I can't drink martinis all evening so I switched to Tito's and soda. Also very good! Always a good sign when the bartender can make fundamental drinks well. In the interest of trying multiple parts of this restaurant, I decided to order an appetizer. The bartender recommended the pickles and pimento. I was a bit hesitant at first, but it was actually quite delicious! I was pleasantly surprised! During my night the bartender informed me about the Blue Stave next door. Curious, I decided to check it out. When I walked in the vibe was completely different. The atmosphere was nice, but we seemed to be the only people there besides the bartender and someone sitting at the end of the bar who appeared to be the manager. The manager was on his phone watching what appeared to be tik toks on his phone and conversing with the bartender. Seemed very unprofessional to me. Because of this I decided to only have one drink and close out. I simply left quickly, content with most of my night being good. Shoutout to the bartender that night! Sweet girl but I forget her name. She worked well under pressure and the drinks were delish! Would come back again but only for the main bar area.

The shishito peppers and frites fries were great apps! Delicious wine. Service was good, meal took a while. My scallops were barely seared on one side only, the risotto was bland, and veggies were mostly charred corn with really acidic tomatoes. I don't think any seasonings were used, maybe not even salt lol. No salt or pepper was provided. Also there's absolutely *nothing* "southern" about the place. The staff was super super nice when my friend's steak was delivered severely undercooked twice (a thermometer wasn't used?). They kindly removed it from the bill but she left hungry. Overall I wouldn't come back but hopefully my feedback is useful :)
