Cool Gelato Italiano

Does being a native Italian mean you make a better gelato? Based on my visit, the answer is YES!Tucked away in Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza, Cool Gelato Italiano is an adorable spot to pick up a cool dessert. It's steps away from the theater, museum and other dining establishments, so getting to it is easy when you're in the area.The service was fast and friendly. It's not often you hear an Italian accent in Arizona, so I enjoyed my brief chat with the owner.The raspberry gelato was tasty and creamy, better than what I've had elsewhere. But ... the Meyer Lemon was next level with it's light and airy texture. A must try for sure!I mentioned this is a convenient place to stop into if you're at Scottsdale Civic Center. The truth is, it's worth the trip if you're not. Buon appetito!

Great flavors, authentic Italian gelato made by adorable couple from Modena and Abruzzo (near Rome)! We tried 6 different flavors and loved them all! The atmosphere was comfortable and the service was great. 5/5 all around.

Both the taste and experience were identical to that of a Gelateria in Italy! Felt like I was back in Italy again! You must stop at this spot if you're in Scottsdale!

We were sightseeing around Scottsdale and were bum that the modern art museum was closed for the season till early February. Trying to kill some extra time we decided to get some gelato since we were on "vacation". Whoa so glad we stumble upon Cool Gelato Italiano. They are not offering samples at the moment with Covid and all, we took the chance and decided on splitting a medium size with Tirsamisu and Grapefruit. I always go for something sweet, while my husband always pick something tangy in desserts. TBH, we had always wonder why we can never find the gelato we loved when we traveled to Italy 20 years ago. All the places we've gone in US is always just a little better version of your usual ice cream. Here at Cool Gelato is the BEST and taste JUST like the ones we had in Italy! I don't understand why no one can make it in US, but it must be something unique you have to do. The tiramisu was not too sweet and the grapefruit wat not too tangy at all. It was perfect and it was soft like eating ice cream clouds. Honestly, this is REAL gelato in Italy! I will continue my quest to find one in LA, and if not I hope I can visit Scottsdale again in the future!

Owners make the gelato on site. Having just returned from Tuscany was delighted to find a touch of Italy here in Scottsdale. Gelato was just like what I remembered in a family friendly environment close to home.

I'm pretty sure these are legit gelato made by Italians! The shop also included other Italian snacks. The gelato themselves were delicious! Perfect on a sunny day. We're coming back again when we're in the area!

Love this gelato place! They are so nice and welcoming. I like their option for small size. It is perfect size for me, especially after a full meal. They offer variety of flavors but I tend to get creamy milky ones with chocolate or almond. I can taste real and fresh ingredients, no extra sugar added.It is located across from Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Great spot to stop by before or after the shows. I usually have room for the medium one after the show.

Solid gelato spot in Scottsdale. We visited Cool Gelato Italiano for some dessert after dinner while walking around the area, and it was too close and convenient to pass up. Cool Gelato Italiano is located near the performing arts center and is walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale, which is where we were headed. The space isn't too large, yet there's ample seating for small groups. The gelato flavors ranged from fruity flavors to more chocolate and creamy ones. I tried the stracciatella one, which was solid. I'm more of a chocolate than fruit person when it comes to desserts, including gelato; so the stracciatella flavor was a good one for me, with lots of chocolate shavings throughout the gelato. That was the best part. If in the area and are looking for something to cool down with, I'd suggest Cool Gelato Italiano to satisfy the hankering.

Dropped by Cool Gelato for an after dinner treat and did not regret it one bit! We parked in the parking structure and just walked over -- it is a bit hidden on the side, but not super hard to find.In terms of flavors, I went with the espresso and my friend got the stracciatella, both in a small cup~ The gelato was so delicious and we both fell in love with it instantly. Service was so sweet and there is seating both inside and outside this place so I'll definitely be back! Drop by if you are in the area and searching for some great frozen desserts~

Tastes exactly like gelato from Italy. The owners even have Italian school certificates, as if they need to justify themselves. They are clearly from Italy. Delicious.
