Cookie's Country Chicken

We were excited to see a new highly rated chicken restaurant to get some family to go food from but they don't have a full menu!While a little dark meat is nice , our family likes the breasts and wings more! This place does not fry whole parts on the bone beyond thighs and drums. The cheaper parts. We would pay more for a variety. We didn't order because the staff member was in a rush and it seems like the lazy boneless diners have won out here! If you are the boneless type you might love this like my kids. But we like actually good fried chicken and great sides around it. I think this owner is trying to do the simple and more profitable menu items. His rent must be stupid I'm sure so it's understandable but just not for us after this attempt to order.We had planned to stop by and pick up a called in order but didn't get past the hurried person on the phone. So we grabbed some Ezells since we can count on that having a variety of bone in chicken. We went from excited to try a new place to not caring to. If you are afraid to eat around the bones and crispy skin then this is probably your joint!

Am I missing something?!Why do I feel like I was bamboozled?!Overall, I feel this place is mediocre at best. First time I tried coming here I walked in and waited in what I thought to be the line to order. However 10 minutes in and people kept passing through the front desk but no one to acknowledge the people in line? Asked around and everyone seemed to be just as confused as I was. Needless to say I left.Fast forward and figured I'd give it another shot by ordering online. Order said it would be done in 20. When I got there in 20, it was busy so it was an additional 10 minutes or so to get my order to go. No biggy. Ordered an array of things to try...the chicken nuggets, a thigh, fries, pot of gold (mashers, gravy, and corn) and plenty of sauces. I only live 3 blocks away and by time I got home the nuggets were already soggy. I ordered it 1 star spicy...but somehow they still lacked flavor? Fries were overly salty and somehow my chicken was not salty at all. The thigh was the saving grace, but certainly nothing to write home about. The pot of gold was simply meh. Again, didn't feel like it was well flavored and simply mediocre. The sauces...the sweet and sour tasted watered down. All others were OK. For $30 there was more food than I could eat, but it wasn't very good. I don't think I'll return.

Came today with a group of 7. We got a mix of sandwiches, bowls and bone-in chicken with most of the different sides. The guy taking our orders was very friendly but honestly doesn't help too much when they love everything on the menu and can't point you in a direction. Barn Burner Sandwich, Chicken Sando, 3 Piece Combo, fries, pot of goldThe food is great and if we are in the area we will come back!The restaurant is bright and cheery with music playing a bit louder than I would prefer but a great selection. There are about 8 tables in the place so even packed it wouldn't feel too crowded.

Family meal is a great value - was able to feed 6 of us with some leftovers! Chicken is pretty good - hot and juicy. But the sides are better - fries, mac n cheese, and the mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. Yum!

YUM! Hubby was craving a fried chicken sandwich one night when we were in the Ballard area, so we searched the internet and found Cookie's. We both really enjoyed our chicken sandwiches. Juicy chicken inside and crunchy outside! They also have really good fries and a ton of tasty sauces. We ended up getting one of each sauce to try them all! Wasn't impressed with the Mac n cheese. I'll skip that next time. But the sandwiches and fries/sauces are bomb!

All we wanted was mac and cheese. Actually it was my companion who wanted it. And not many places offer it, so we came here. They gave us mac and cheese, a good quantity at a good price, and fast. The ambience was lacking but fine. My companion enjoyed his mac and cheese and ate the whole thing. I should add that my companion is not a very discerning eater. But we got what we came for, and that was good.

Had the spicy 1 star chicken sandwich. It was great!!! Wife had 3 star chicken sandwich. not to spicy hot. Freindly service. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

Food was stellar. Vibe is chill and clean. Service was fast. We will definitely be back.

Taste: 5/5Price: FairChicken was good. The breading was nice, seemed fancier than other fried chicken I've had which is admittedly not much. Portion size was quite generous, more than I expected. Mac and cheese was good.The Sassy Sauce was as abstract as its name. I liked the chicken decorations. Definitely looking forward to coming back.
