Best Fried Chicken Sandwich in Pioneer Square, possibly in all of Seattle. The staff is always friendly and it's a great place to catch an M's game.

New lunch spot in Pioneer Square. My colleagues and I were walking to another eatery when we spotted a huge sign that read Cookie's Country Chicken, which is how I learned the restaurant that was here before closed. And what's funny is that the restaurant that was here before, Pioneer Square D&E was known for their fried chicken lunch special. It's only telling that Cookie's Country Chicken would take over this same spot. We must've visited on opening day because there was filming here of the kitchen crew and staff on a Tuesday during lunch hour. The owner was really nice and was checking in with patrons dining in and delivering food to tables. The place is a casual spot that features ample seating for small groups and individuals, with a lot of people getting takeout. The menu is straightforward, with just three lunch combinations, three chicken sandwiches and a handful of different sides to choose from for your combo. It's all about $15 before tax and tip, which is a cheap lunch in the Seattle area. You order and pay at the counter and pick a table afterwards where staff delivers your food. I ordered the Barn Burner chicken sandwich, which is a fried chicken breast sandwich that's spicy with iceberg lettuce, pickles and mayo. For this sandwich, you can choose your spice level, and I went with two stars, which was not spicy at all. But that didn't bother me because the chicken breast was juicy and flavorful, and I am not a chicken breast fan. I usually find it bland, but this one had good flavor and was perfectly fried. I especially liked the pickles with, for some crunch. Bun was nice and soft. And the sandwich was a good, big size. For a side, I chose the fries, which were double fried, which is how I love my fries! They were crispy and had a nice zest to it, and loved the rowdy ranch sauce I got with. My colleagues all enjoyed their lunch too. The mashed potatoes and gravy side looked hella good, but now that I had the fries here, I'm hooked.I would happily come back here, especially when I'm working in the office, which is just a short walk to here. Cookie's has a solid fried chicken sandwich that'll curb that fried chicken hankering. I'm glad they opened up in Pioneer Square.

Pioneer Square needed a good chicken joint and Cookie's Country Chicken answered the call. The food is high quality and the staff member at the register was a really nice guy. If you dine in you have to bus your own table. If they decide to expand I think they would do well on Capitol Hill. So I got the #1 combo. The chicken sandwich is HUGE. I didn't even get to my side of Mash 'Taters. Ended up taking the leftovers home. Now that they've opened this week I think they'll get a lot of foot traffic from Pioneer Square workers, Waterfront construction workers, and Mariners fans. Concerts at Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park will also bring in hungry folks. It's about a 5-7 minute walk from the International District/Chinatown Station. It's easier to walk here on Jackson Street rather than using the Weller Street Pedestrian Bridge.

Austin is a real one. The chicken is so juicy, service is on point and the options for non chicken people (cauliflower bites) were 10/10. Chill ambiance too for a quick bite before the mariners game.

Definitely enjoyed my Hot Honey Chicken sandwich. Perfectly spicy and juicy chicken breast. Pot O' Gold (corn plus mash potatoes and gravy) was unique and tasty. Friendly staff and simple vibes with classic country tunes.

Quick lunch pickup? Yes. Just trying it out because why not, now I am questioning why I'd eat anywhere else. Run, don't walk to get yours.
