I thought long and hard on this and landed on a three star. This spot is located right smack dab in the middle of the Short North and offers just about every kind of tea you could ever want. It's the only one of its kind in the neighborhood. They also have a food menu that's bigger than I expected. Everything from soups and salads to classic Japanese dishes and pastries. I came by a little before close to order a bubble tea and be on my way. The customer service was really odd and they seemed annoyed that I was there... even though I was just getting a tea to-go. I'm not sure what was going on but I did not feel welcome. I ordered bubble tea, specifically a tarot black tea with tapioca pearls. I also got it with coconut milk. The fact that they had alternative milks was a plus! My drink was not pretty, but it was really good. I sipped on it while I finished an evening walk and it hit the spot. There were a ton of pearls, and I had leftovers when my tea was gone. I loved that. I would come back for bubble tea again, but I'm not sure how likely I would come for a meal just given my experience. I'll see how it goes next time and go from there.

Stopped in on a quiet Tuesday evening looking for a chill place to do some work and mission accomplished! I was one of two customers, the lights were dim, the music gentle and ambient. I ordered the cinnamon chai latte and tea cookies (Lavender and Earl Grey). It was divine! The service was lovely and I'll be recommending this little spot to all my friends!

Very cute spot in the short north for some tea and brunch. I got the hazelnut chai as a full tea service and it came in a cute little pot and i was able to pour and sip at my own pace. If you like your tea hot, i suggest you pour as much as you will drink in the next few minutes as it stays warmer in the pot than the cup.Service was a bit slow as I believe there was only one waitress manning the whole shop but she was super kind and patient. My pancakes took a very long time due to improper batter and she offered me some tea cookies in the interim. The pancakes themselves are lighter than they look but didn't taste strongly of earl grey, it was more like a fall, apple/pecan situation, still tasty but not what i was hoping for.Overall, i think its a cute shop in the short north and i'd definitely revisit for tea service!

Came in on a whim during a dreary, rainy, chilly spring evening. It was nice and cozy. I decided to order to go. Sadly; they didn't have two of the options I wanted so I ended up with the fire chai - chai spiced with chili . It took about 10 minutes or so. I ordered with oat milk and honey (both cost extra) so I spent around $7-8 for a large tea to go. It was good, albeit a tad pricy. Wish they would have had my first two choices, though!

While in Columbus, we came across ZenCha Tea Salon. This looked like a nice spot to recharge to continue our Columbus adventures. Here you can buy loose tea, you can have it to go, or you can sit and stay a while. We decided to stay. Their tea menu is categorized by country of origin. You can also get bubble tea. We got a tea each, I got the cinnamon orange from the Middle East, my one friend got the Strawberry Vally from Germany and my other friend got one of the Chais from India. We also got three scones and Edamame to share. The scones and the edamame first arrived to our table. These were so, so delicious, it's obvious they are freshly made in house. We got, cranberry, s'mores and blueberry. These were warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Then topped with butter... Mmm.The edamame was fine.We waited a very long time for our teas, around 45 minutes. When we inquired about why it's taking so long, we were told they ran out of teapots, when the dishwasher is done they would get the tea going. Ok well, that's honest. I asked for water three times, before it had finally been brought out to me.Once the teas had been brought out to us, they came in individual tea pots, and each of our tea cups was different. There was plenty in each teapot for us to share, and enjoy! My favorite was the Strawberry Valley. They were all very flavorful, fragrant and delicious! We had a great time at Zen Cha Tea Salon. I would stop by again when in the area.

One of my favorite spots to get brunch in Columbus! Be prepared to wait 1-2 hours for your food. I've been coming here for 4 years and haven't ever gotten food faster. Obviously it's worth it because I keep coming back! Try the Earl Gray pancakes and get some dumplings as an appetizer. Parking is usually pretty cheap on High Street if you can find a place. Give it a try some morning - just bring something to do and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Not sure if we upset someone when we came in but it was a good twenty minutes before we ordered. Sitting here for an hour and still haven't even gotten our tea. Really? I understand that places are short staffed but people that have come in after us with tea and some with food. Now, once the food arrived, the tide turned. I didn't like that they brought things out as they were done, meaning that various people had food whilst others didn't. Presentation was amazing, tea was great and the food was very good. Maybe I came into it with the wrong attitude regarding timing but I'll give it another shot at some point.

I went during the brunch time. The menu is different for dinner. I also had iced tea- it was really fruity, aromatic and good but I can't remember the name of it! Here is my 2 cents for this place.Parking- plenty but could be tricky. Street parking as well as public lots are all around the cafe but since this is at a busy place, you may have to drive around a couple of times to find a spot. Service- knowledgeable and friendly staff and they are always happy to help you if you have questions about teas and food. It is VERY SLOW though. I have been to this place more than a few times. Sometimes the place is busy, sometimes not, but the service is always slow and it takes over 30 minutes to get your food/drinks. Not the place if you are hungry and/or don't have plenty of time. Good- brunch foods are better than dinner in my opinion. The noodles in miso ramen are over cooked, not much flavor in the soup. Okonomitaki is bland and mushy. LOVED the Maui pancake though. It was sweet with fresh fruits, slightly tangy and it was great. Teas- they offer a large variety of teas from different parts of the world. I prefer fruity ice teas and so far, I enjoyed every tea I have tried. I would recommend chatting with the server and let them know what kind of tea you like. Overall- the place is nice and clean. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you have the time, it would be fun to try a couple of different teas. Just make sure that you have plenty of time because the service is super slow.

I was here for brunch on 02/12 and unfortunately this place really didn't work for us. Walking in at first, the place has a cute cozy vibe. We were seated right away as it wasn't crowded and our order was taken quickly with the server giving us her recommendations. However it took forever for us to get our order, silver ware etc. We ordered the moroccon tea, the okonomiyaki, and the earl grey pancake. The moroccon tea was wayyy too minty - they make an in house blend so we thought it would be good esp since the place is called tea salon but it really wasn't great and def not like the tea we had in Morocco. The okonomiyaki had TOO much mayo - that's literally all we tasted. Unfortunately the Mayo wasn't even seasoned or flavored, it was just straight mayo :(. And finally, while the earl grey pancakes tasted good, we found hair in it after a few bites. The server was apologetic but we didn't order another one bc we were getting late since everything took so long to begin with :/ Would I recommend and return? Unfortunately it's a no from me.

Came in based on Yelp reviews...won't be back. Service is slow as they make each dish as ordered...really f'ing slow...with that you'd think it would be hot, wrong. The cheese sauce on my eggs Benedict was cold and instantly cooled the entire meal. The potato hash was the highlight of the brunch. By the way, did I say slow, we ordered a flavored iced latte and a flavored iced tea, had to get to go cups as they arrived at the table after the brunch plates were cleared. Gave it 2 stars because of the potatoes, otherwise just 1 star.
