Avoid around Franklinton Fridays. Typically busy, and has hosted some very aggressive clipboarders at their shop. They definitely harsh the vibe when trying to have a good time. That being said, I love their pizza. They have some very interesting flavors and serve my favorite cider, Aces. Any day other than Franklinton Fridays are good.

Yellow Brick Pizza sits in the up-and-coming Franklinton area. We got the deep dish pie, and it was ridiculously huge. Truthfully, the price seems unreasonable at first -- but the moment you get through the first slice, you realize how much pizza you have in front of you. Takes around ~45 min for the pizza cook, so I'd order ahead if you're coming in on any empty stomach like us. As far as the taste, the cheese was too chewy for my liking. The place was inviting, but the music was turned up too loud for us. While loud music is fun on Friday nights, definitely doesn't sit the same on a Monday evening.

The food here is always amazing! They switch the menu around & there's always new pizzas to try! I most recently tried the jerk chicken pizza, which was amazing! I usually am not a big fan of red onions, however, it meshed well with the recipe for the pizza! The chicken was seasoned & cooked perfectly & no ingredient was overpowering. A well made dish. The garlic knots were also amazing! I would highly recommend ordering them to try if you're looking for a great appetizer to share. They also have happy hour specials! The staff is always nice and the inside of the restaurant is very clean and beautiful! Would highly recommend.

Visited on 24 JUL 2024We were in town visiting daughter, her husband and a toddler grandson. We were told that this part of town is being revitalized. I can see that, and I wish them luck, this is always a complicated dance and gamble in non- "tourist" city. Of course there is a giant internationally known University, but still people don't have it on their gotta go there list. So as you might guess from the name this place has a bit of a theme but I really appreciate how subtle they approached it. There is nothing that smacks you in the face. They have achieved the feeling, with music, color schemes, and clean simple lines. The service was good for middle of the day, middle of the week minimal staffing. Our server, Faith, took care of us well, got the orders right and was attentive without hovering. The food is okay, there was nothing wrong with any of the meal. I would simply say it lacks "finish". The tater tots were hot and fresh but they were tater tots on a plate (which is fine, but for $7, how about a little parsley or visible seasoning or some other up sell). My wife and I both got the little italian sub. It was , little, especially for $10. The bread was standard 6 in sub roll, toasted just enough to have texture without the whole cut your mouth thing. The ham was cubed and the pepperoni diced. I didn't hate that because it was easy to bite through without things sliding around, but I'm a big guy with a big mouth so I felt a bit like I was stealing bites of grandma's lunch. There was also a 14" Margherita pizza, $20, it looked well made, the kids enjoyed it. I tasted a bit of the sauce, it was fresh and tomato forward but that's the simple taste you would expect on that pie.If we were local I would probably give it another shot, order different things, have a few drinks. Because I suspect that bar food [not knocking that] is better with a bit of a buzz on.

Came here on a Friday night to finally try it out. Seating was quite confusing as there was no host and it seemed multiple people were confused. We ended up seating ourselves, which seemed like what you were supposed to do. Waiters eventually came around but seemed as if they weren't in communication with one another. Foodwise, I got the spicy chicken corn chowder pizza cause it sounded interesting. It wasn't bad, wasn't great, pretty ok pizza. It wasn't very spicy but the crust was nice and crisp. Due to the amount of toppings, it was also a bit wet though so again, a bit of a mixed bag.Overall, I wasn't overly impressed with my experience here but nothing was particularly bad either.

Yellow Brick Pizza: The Flying Pig & The Never-Forsaken BaconWe went with the 14-inch Flying Pig, a red sauce pizza topped with mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon, ham, and sausage. Meat lovers, rejoice.First ImpressionsFresh, well-cooked, and flavorful--the quality of the ingredients is undeniable. The crust? Crispy (but not hard), slightly flaky, and giving wood-fired energy, though I can't confirm if that's actually the case. Either way, it's got a good bite, and the bottom has that slight char that just feels right.Toppings Breakdown * Bacon was the MVP--crispy, smoky, and a reminder that although I don't eat much pork, bacon will never be forsaken. I respect all dietary choices, but if I ever go fully vegetarian, just know bacon did NOT betray me--I betrayed bacon. * Sausage was cool, but it didn't shake my world. * Ham? A textural curveball. Everything else was sliced or minced, then you get this chunky ham situation that just doesn't blend the same. I left it on for the full experience, but if I ordered this again, I'd swap it out. * Pepperoni came through--salty, slightly crispy, and holding its own in the meat parade.Would I Get It Again?Maybe, but I'd add a veggie--something to break up all the richness. A little banana pepper, red onion, or roasted red pepper could take it up a notch.I originally debated The Elliot (pear, bacon, honey), and after tasting how fresh everything is, I'd definitely branch out next time. My dining partner wanted the Spicy Meatball, but we compromised on the Flying Pig. And honestly? I don't trust meatballs on pizza--texture, flavor, and execution rarely hit. If you were (or still are) a Subway Meatball Pizza person, respectfully, your opinions are void.Garlic Bread: Good, Not Life-ChangingVery cheesy--which is always a win. The garlic flavor? Definitely present, which sounds obvious, but some places really play games with that. Edges were nicely crispy, but overall, the flavor wasn't booming. Maybe it needed a pinch of salt or something. Now, the marinara comes cold, which threw me off, but shoutout to the server who happily warmed it up when asked. A little detail that made a big difference.Would I order it again? Sure, but with no unrealistic expectations. If you're looking for something solid to snack on, it does the job.Final ThoughtsYellow Brick knows their pizza. Fresh ingredients, a well-made crust, and flavors that make me want to explore more of their menu. I'd tweak my order next time, but that's more about preference than quality.Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I forsake bacon? Never. Now, Let's Settle This:If you had to pick between The Flying Pig (pepperoni, bacon, ham, sausage) OR The Elliot (pear, bacon, honey, shaved parmesan)--which are you rolling with?Drop your pick in the comments and defend your choice. And if you've had both, tell me--did I fumble not getting The Elliot?

My second time trying this place and this time the food is the issue. It was warm when I got it but everything is just lacking. There's not a lot of sauce so it just tastes dry and hard and the toppings just fall off when you pick up a slice. After modifying it it came out to like $25 for one pizza. I thought wow at that price it must be because they use really good ingredients. I'm not going to lie it tastes like a school lunch. Now I know not to go back. DO NOT waste your money here! There are gonna be better options that don't cost nearly as much
