Wokano Japanese Steakhouse

My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday afternoon. Service was pretty good and it was a large open dining space. The food was served on hot skillets still sizzling so that was unusual for a Japanese place. The vegetarian tofu teriyaki was way too heavy on the onions. Teriyaki sauce is pretty hit or miss so it was ok, but not great weirdly very thick. It was a nice overall. The portions were a standard size and the tofu was soft. Looked like a full bar though I didn't try any of that.

We are from out of state and were looking for sushi. Reviews looked good so we tried it. Seated immediately, server was super friendly, sushi was great, cocktails were delicious and that fried cheesecake was phenomenal. Much cheaper than sushi where we are from but not lacking in quality or service. If I didn't live 5 hours away I'd return.

Our server was nice but offered too much personal info which took time away from taking our order. The salad was very watery and the soup was too fishy. Our hibachi chicken and scallops were great but the rice didn't have much flavor. We were there right after they opened, so there were only two other tables. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed the decor and cleanliness!

Not fancy, but clean. Was there for sushi, lunch time, week day. Not too busy. Good sushi, service was attentive. Not local for me but would return if in the area again.

It was a Saturday night and it seems they are understaffed so let me first start out by saying the service was great. They were hospitable, kind and attentive. We spend a lot of money on dinner. The appetizers were overpriced in my opinion. Small portion of the Rock Shrimp that sat on a generous portion of lettuce. The sushi rolls I ordered lacked flavor and tasted fishy. They were presented very nicely but it was a bit disappointing for a cheat day. My husband really enjoyed his hibachi and had no complaints. From the time of sitting down at the bar and waiting for a table after the approximate 30 min wait we waiting another hour and a half before we began to eat our food at the grill. It was a long night. Again, I understand completely they are probably understaffed just expect this may happen if you come in so maybe call ahead. We will probably not be back to sit at the grill due to time. Maybe we will stay at the bar next and order there. They also had a very nice outside seating area. Since the service was very kind I'd also like to give their sushi another chance, maybe this isn't their norm.

Great food, good Hibachi. Their Filet Mignon and Scallops is very tasty. They also have a good selection of Sushi Rolls.

So we decided to go here for lunch/dinner and it was OK. Starting out with the food I had some soup. IT WAS HOT!!! It was hard enough for me to pretty much spit it out. I did not like that. Noodles were fine, chicken was fine, but then there were carrots. to try getting rid of the taste I put Yum Yum sauce on it, I put soy sauce on it, I even mixed it with chicken. But it didn't work and I almost spit it out.Now let's talk about the service. There was nothing special to it. I mean the people who work there were nice. But it was OK. it took a long time to get our drinks. And the food took pretty much shorter than the drinks. Which is unusual. But whatever. Overall, I guess this restaurant a mid what is OK. I have been there before so I'm kinda used to the experience.

I was skeptical at first with its rougher look on the exterior, but the restaurant is much nicer once you get inside, and the prices are very reasonable. I've eaten hibachi here a few times, and it's been mostly good with great service. Sushi is great too. But there's a chef that seems like he doesn't want to be there. He mixed up my girlfriends order with mine, which is no real biggie for us but it would've been awkward had it happened with a stranger. I also ordered a double order of lo mein, but unless I'm wrong it definitely seemed like I paid the small up charge fee for a normal order. Just nit picking things, nothing really upsetting.Overall it's been a good experience, and I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys hibachi and/sushi.

Pretty good dinner, got seated straight away. Only have "yum yum" sauce. We like the ginger sauce from Sakura better. Food well cooked to order. Break between apps and dinner a little long.

Terrible experience with very mid food. The decorations are tacky and half of them don't work, the bathroom smelt terrible and the cleaning supplies were out in the floor. I ordered a very basic hibachi chicken lunch with NO eggs. Of course the chef immediately mixed eggs in, so the waitress had to bring a different batch of rice.. then he proceeds to put the rice with egg on my plate. Another woman at my table took my plate and I didn't have a plate until I saw the waitress again. The chef mumbled the whole time so it was really hard to understand what he was saying and explain my food being wrong. The chef held up what I assumed was butter or a small piece of food and looked to me so I nodded, honestly just wanting this experience to be over, he then proceeds to throw that piece of food at me and hit me in the fucking face. I was so mad I had to get up and walk away to cool off. Food was under seasoned, no choices for salad dressings or dipping sauces for the meal, and a very weird atmosphere. I will not be back, what a joke.
