Within the last month we've stopped in twice for lunch/brunch at Wendell's after church on Sunday. The service has been great, we've been warmly welcomed with each visit. They do have brunch offerings and specials. Our first visit we ordered fish and chips and chicken tenders and fries. The portions were large, tasty, and fresh. We left with Monday's lunch. Our second visit, we ordered the sausage gravy & biscuits and the creamed chicken & biscuits that were on special. The biscuits were some of the best I've had! Everything we've had there has been well prepared and flavorful. It's relatively quiet early on Sunday, definitely recommend checking them out on Sunday or any time!

It's been a year since our "Dine-Out Group" (a group of us who meet once a month to dine-out together) visited Wendell's. This was our annual visit to Wendell's and we again had about 32 people in our group. As in the past, we were seated promptly and our waiter was there almost immediately to start taking drink orders.We had one server for the group and the server was excellent - they got all the orders in a timely and efficent manner and all the checks were correct at the end of the meal. I would applaud the server for excellent service. This server did an excellent job of handling drink and dinner orders for such a large group.In my opinion and that of many in our group, the quality of the food has gone downhill since our last visit. Wendell's used to be known for their PRIME RIB but several members of our group who ordered the primce rib were really disappointed with their meals. Another ordered a Reuben sandwich and was also very disappointed with the quality of her meal. To Wendell's credit, they did "comp" one of the prime rib dinners and they replaced the corned beef Reuben with a pastrami Reuben that was much better than the original.Personally, I had the Pittsburgh Stacker which was a pastrami sandwich with cheese, onion, coleslw, tomato and french fries - ALL on the sandwich - it was excellent. I don't recall what my wife actually ordered but she said it was good - but not great.As can be expected when dealing with such a large group, the food orders came out of the kitchen in a sort of "scatter shot" approach but most were served without much delay - only a couple of minor glitches with the service.

This family-owned restaurant is tucked away, and we wouldn't have found it were it not for a coupon in the Westerville Town Money Saver. At the entrance, you can either sit at the room with the bar or in a quieter adjacent room. We chose the quieter room where we were the only ones there.I ordered the fish and chips (I had sweet potato fries) and was served a huge portion of battered Atlantic cod along with a side of coleslaw and house-made tartar sauce. It was tasty and I was glad to see the meal was hot.My husband had the prime rib with Idaho mashed potatoes and asparagus. He said it was prepared well.We took a slice of apple pie topped with pecans to go. It was DELICIOUS!Now, the place can get noisy, and I was so glad we were in the adjacent room. I don't know what was on the TV, but we heard a lot of whooping and hollering from the bar.Finally, I feel the prices are too high. Hubby's beer was $8.25, and the slice of pie was $7.00. After our coupon, our bill was over $60.00.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have at least three stars on Yelp.The food and service are pretty good at Wendell's. I've been here a couple times over the past few weeks and was pleasantly surprised at how much I like it. The wings are incredible and the service has been quick to serve and friendly.I would say, if you have been here before or haven't been here recently, give this local dinner a try. They have plenty of great tasting selections to choose from.

This used to be a favorite local place to hang out for wonderful food and service. Both have taken a nosedive over the past few years. The food quality is horrible and the staff seem more interested in hanging out with each other than serving customers. Very sad!

This place is fantastic! Not sure where the negative reviews come from bc I'm about as picky as they come and I've been nothing less than thrilled with this place! Try their meatloaf sliders or their new brussel sprouts!!! Service was excellent! Staff was friendly and accommodating to all of us! Also has a separate bar are for us older folk! I highly recommend Wendell's for drinks and/or dinner any day of the week!!!

I had a surprise birthday party @Wendells for my husband on a Saturday night for about 30 people. Rich and his staff were very accommodating. He gave me lots of options. We decided on an appetizer buffet and drink coupons to get our guests started. They provided table cloths and a cake table. We had almost the whole dining room to ourselves. Wait staff was helpful and attentive. Appetizers were delicious. Other than gratuity included there were no extra fees or minimum drink or food bills. Good time was had and I was very impressed. Would highly recommend for a party or large group! Thanks again Wendell's!

We were looking for takeout food and thought we would revisit Wendell's Pub. Mistake. We placed our order beforehand. When we tried to pick it up, it didn't exist. Management said they would fix it while we waited. Another mistake. When we got home, the order was completely botched. The fries were wet, the lettuce was wilted, the bun was soaked. That $30 dinner went into the trash. Our impression of Wendell's now lies somewhere between disappointment and disgust.

This was my first time and last time here. sorry to say not one thing was good! The Brussels sprouts appetizer were drowned is so much vinaigrette. They were an edible and the same for my Berger there was so much seasoning you couldn't eat it. I'm not being sarcastic I scraped off at least 2 tablespoons a seasoning that works cake on it. The Mojito ordered it's like straight seltzer water. And the "fresh mint was dried flakes a sprinkle of a jar and they charge for a blueberry Mojito and there is definitely no blueberries. My wife Ruben was so dry. It was like it was left out for two days. This was the worst experience in tasting food we've ever had, we are locals to the area and was hopeful. This would be a new spot for us, but it's definitely not. save your money it's not worth $100 for two people for Berger and Ruben, and two drinks. Would not recommend this place!

I was told to try Wendell's again when I was back in Westerville. 3x in the past two months and the food and service was great each time!! I tried the chicken salad sandwich this time...it was spot on!! And Krysti the bartender is super friendly and attentive! I'll be back
