Random Friday night....laid up on the couch after work.....no plans. Buddy calls and says, "Come to the Venice Club."Hmmmm...ok-less than a mile from my house, why not. My buddy's bowling league was having an end of season party. Get there....walking up, the venue is surrounded by wooded area to provide plenty of privacy. Outside hosts a variety of space (fire pits, basketball, gazebo, fishing, playground, volley ball, covered and uncovered seated areas, etc)Inside- tons of space for dining, social area and kitchen. They had food catered by Land Yacht BBQ - mmmyum - and an open bar and kegs. FREE, yay! Folks were taking full advantage of all the bonfire areas and game spaces the venue had available: some playing corn holes and horse shoes. But me....I migrated toward (the open bar - DUH!!!) the live band playing. Breaking Sane was a lively band playing mostly 80s (some 90s) covers.....they were good. The one dude...could sure shred.I am a fan of people coming together - that's what was happening here tonight. Coming from Louisiana to Ohio...sometimes I feel a little lost without the friendliness factor I am used to. Tonight I came knowing one person, I left knowing much more......mainly because the venue expertly set the stage for a comfortable party space that encouraged people to interact. Being new to the city... .this was invaluable to me.I would definately put the Venice Club at the top of my list for a variety of my social function needs. Sorry my pics are so dark :( only had my phone with me and hell, it was dark!

My daughter booked the venue last year in June for July 3, 2020, and paid a deposit. She called in December to find out what the cancellation policy was because we weren't sure if we would be able to have the vow renewal due to deployment. The lady said she had to send a written notice (Found the contract which also states this). She did NOT cancel verbally or in writing, because we found out in December that we were good to go. She didn't think she had to call back and tell them, because she had only inquired and had not submitted a written cancellation notice. She also had until April to forfeit or pay the remaining money due, yet they booked another event for the same date in December/January without even telling her. They are refusing to give her money back and it's too late to find another location! They offered her different dates, but its vow renewal you can't just change the date and the dates they gave her were both Sundays. To court we go.....

My daughter selected this place for her wedding and reception. Unfortunately she had to cancel for financial reasons. We gave them 9 months notice and they said they could not give us a refund because they might not be able to book another event on that date. I asked if we could get at least half and again they said no! REALLY you have 9 months to get it booked. I think this is bad customer service and would not recommend this place.I also would say I would understand better if I didn't give much notice but we gave 9 MONTHS!
