Went to United Skates of America recently and had a fantastic time!! The only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the kids. My biggest complaint was that there were SO MANY kids + also going the wrong direction, on the skating rink. Several times staff came on the speaker and told everyone to be skating the same direction, but only after her saying that about three or four times did it change anything. Not really the staff's problem, but it was *really* hard dodging children everywhere, coming at me from every direction. We went during a half-off skating time, and there was a little discount for using cash, so it was $19.75 for admission and skate rental for two of us. The rink itself was very clean and in great condition. I enjoyed the variety of carpet squares all over the facility; colorful and makes it look fun. We rented skates and they were also in great working condition. I did see the staff sanitizing skates after use.I was so thrilled that staff left me bring in my big 32oz Nalgene water bottle! I drank so much of it while skating, and I was so happy to be hydrated! There is a working drinking fountain too, so I filled up a few times. The lockers were in good conditions, 2 quarters each, and there is a change machine that allows you to make change. The speakers and sound on the rink was great, and the music was good. The bathrooms were clean, well stocked, and well maintained. Overall I had a really great time skating, and definitely want to come back during an adult only time!

United Skates of America - for the birthday party win! We have been to United Skates of America three times over the past month - once to practice skating since it'd been more than a decade since I had gone skating and twice for birthday parties (one included my own daughter's birthday party). Every experience that we have had with the staff at United Skates of America has been superb! From the staff at admissions to the skate rental to the DJ - everyone is so attentive and kind! Our first time at United Skates of America was on a Friday night. This was so much fun! For $12, you get free admission, free skates, a free slice of pizza, and a free small drink. You really cannot beat that price! The music was on point too! The birthday parties have been super fun too. My daughter had the absolute best time for her birthday party there. Her favorite part? The DJ letting her pick out a song and the birthday shout out! Haha! We will definitely continue to keep United Skates of America in our monthly family fun rotation!

This is like place is like steeping back into my childhood or an episode of Stanger Things!Wow!!!! This is as magical as is it was when I was kid 100 yrs ago...lol. Besides nostalgia the best thing about this place is the staff. 5 star service walking through the door, picking up skates, getting helped up after a fall, to getting an Ice cold Icee.

Hah my child's bday party here, the customer service at booking wasn't all that great. They didn't explain the details of the packages so as a first time time I wasn't aware of a lot of details that went on the day of the actual party. I basically got robotic service at booking. They allow you to drop your decor off if you are choosing to use your own at least 24 hours before your party. You are assigned a party host, likely a very young teen which is fine. I did have a coupon for adult food and the package seemed to be enough for my party size that actually came. No healthy food options AT ALL, even with drinks. Sugary drinks or water are the options. Child got to spin the wheel for tickets winnings and a visit DJ booth. Of course they always take the time to sell the overpriced glow /light up gadgets. I bought my own and gave them to guests. Overall it was a good experience but customer service could use a little improvement

I'm inclined to agree with what Caleb D. had to say. This place has fresh paint on the outside, is immaculate on the inside, and is extraordinarily well run on a shoestring budget. The staff is outgoing and very professional, and the floor is in excellent condition. The DJs switch songs smoothly, and have a clear, unobstructed view of the entire floor; meaning they can contribute effectively to floor guarding. The music they play isn't my personal style, but I love that this is one of the few places I've found in Columbus where there's a very diverse crowd, and everyone has been kind to me.Disclaimers: I can't comment on the quality of the games etc.; I've never played them. The food is typical skating rink fare (hot dogs and pizza), and isn't anything to write home about AFAIK.Note: At the time of this writing, Tuesday evening there's a family-friendly skating session 6:00-8:30 that's $2 for admission, which is a screaming bargain. (I have my own skates; I don't know if there's an extra charge for rentals or how much they are.)

Sure, it is old and run down but you can still have a fun time and your kids will love it.The music is pretty good and the kids that work there are nice and really take good care of watching out and helping little ones. There is always someone on the rink that works there to help when someone falls, they teach newbies and make you feel comfortable there.I'm sure when the lights are on this place is quite scuzzy but since they have the whole disco thing going on its fine and a nice change. The location by bexley is nice and easy to get to, my son had a blast and that alone was worth it, take your kids for something other than a day of tv and video games.

My friends and I came on a Tuesday night for adult skate as a break from our hectic college schedules. We arrived a bit early, around 8:00 pm during which the previous skating session was wrapping up. We asked the woman working the register if we would be able to pay ahead of time and skate a bit at the end of the concluding session before the 9:00 adult skate started, and she said that would be fine. She checked our IDs along with giving us age verification bracelets along with reassuring us that we wouldn't have to pay for the subsequent session, and that we could stay in the building at a table until the next session started. We skated for about 20 minutes until the day session ended, and were then approached by a male employee shortly after who informed us that, the bad news is we were no longer allowed to stay in the building for the 30 minute break but the good news is that we'd be first in line for the next session, which we were fine with and decided to go get food and come back at 9. When we arrived back at the location, we were immediately met with a rude and combative woman at the register who, rather than welcome us in, spat at us that we couldn't bring our sodas in. Again, we were completely understanding of this, but the immediate aggression threw us off. We then began to show our age verification bracelets and tell her about how we were granted permission to pay for adult skate early and come back when they reopened, to which she immediately cut us off and told us that we need to pay up. When I questioned this and told her that 2 separate staff members agreed that we could return with no additional payment, she made the excuse that those employees were in training and didn't know what they were talking about. We're struggling college students on limited budgets, and after going to get food we simply couldn't afford to pay a second time so we decided to leave.Though I hate to mention this, we took note that we were the only white people in the establishment and were treated noticeably different than other patrons of the skate rink. Based on how we were treated compared to other guests, we have the suspicion that we weren't welcome because of our skin color, and that they were either attempting to turn us away or to charge us extra. We will not be returning to this location, nor do I recommend it.

Rink is a solid size. Has food and games, although the food is over-priced and is equal to food at a gas station. Music is mostly gangster rap (censored thankfully).
