Our experience was great! We did an hour ride and they explained everything well while making us comfortable on the horses. The horses were sweet and easy to ride. I would come again!

Uncle Buck's is a pretty incredible place. We went on a Monday during a holiday weekend and were surprised by the spacious parking lot. It took us a minute to figure out where to check in at as the outside is designed for large events. The office where you check in at is decorated with photos of events past and gives off a nostalgic, country air.Once we were saddled up we took off into the beautiful summer scenery. My friend and I took the Moonville Tunnel Tour and we had a blast. Our two hour tour turned into a three hour tour because of some fallen debris from a storm a couple days before and by the end my legs were on fire!It was a fun time for sure and definitely recommend for tours in the area.

Hospitality is second to none! If you want to get away for a few hours and enjoy the national forest this is the way to do it.

Our time at Uncle Buck's was eventful but exciting! At first we weren't sure what we had gotten into, but afterwards we were glad we did it. When you plan on riding here, bring bug spray because the trail is in the woods. Our trail guide, Lydia, was great and handled our 6 person group gracefully. It was super muddy on the one hour trail due to rain and one of the horses got stuck in a hole and my family member fell off. Lydia helped her get back on, even after getting stepped on by the horse. All of the ladies at the barn were great! Definitely recommend this place! They are very experienced and know their horses very well!

Husband and I are visiting and we decided to go horseback riding. We are both beginners and we had an awesome experience. We took the hour long ride and it was so much fun! Olivia was our guide and she was very helpful, patient, and friendly. Would definitely recommend stopping here if you're in town!

I woke up last week feeling claustrophobic. I had to get out of the city. I called my friend and asked her if she wanted to get the hell out of town for a bit. She said, "yeah, if I can wear my pajamas." Done. We drove aimlessly east for awhile until I remembered that I had a friend that worked at Uncle Buck's. I'd never been there, but I'd heard that it was pretty sweet. How could a dance barn not be sweet? I called and got directions to the stable. An hour later we crept past a trailer-settlement of gawking locals until we reached our destination. We arrived the day after the last music event of the year. Apparently The Rarely Heard, a bluegrass band that's famous among bluegrass fans, had played the night before. A showing of 200 hundred people is pretty amazing for a dance barn in the middle of nowhere. My friend was scrubbing and cleaning, as she had been for hours, trying to recover from the previous night's show.We bummed around the place, checking out the horses and meeting the tour guides. I hung out with Uncle Buck for awhile until the horses were ready. Uncle Buck was relaxed and amiable, talking mainly about past shows and bands we were both into. He told us to check out Moonville tunnel on our way out, just past the second steel bridge heading south. It's worth seeing. You can find more info here: www.forgottenoh.com/moonville.htmlUncle Buck's has a full bar, an outdoor patio/beer garden, a stable, and a stage on a sprawling plot in the middle of Zaleski Forest. Between Zaleski, Lake Hope, and Uncle Buck's, you can make a pretty sweet day trip an hour and half outside of Columbus. The horse rides cost $25 for an hour trip. It's worth the cost if you like horses.

Excellent riding stable! We had a large group with a variety of ages, as young as 9, and took the hour long trail ride to celebrate her birthday. We had a bunch of loud, screaming girls and it didn't phase the horses at all. They were very gentle and well trained... This is a great trail for the inexperienced. The stable hands really knew the horses temperaments and did a nice job of matching the horse to the rider. The woods that you ride through are gorgeous, it was very relaxing. This was our second trip here and We will definitely be back again!

I will never go back to Uncle Buck's again, and would not recommend it to anyone. Our experience started off great, but then the reckless haste of one of the guides put my young, inexperienced nephew in danger. Instead of waiting until the other guide was in place at the end of the line, she took off leading the group and thoughtlessly left my 8yo new rider at the end of the line by himself. She proceeded to lead the tour down the hill, but his horse (thankfully) stopped. She didn't turn around, didn't look back, didn't care about what was going on behind her. She finally turned around and started yelling at me (a highly experienced rider) to loosen up on the reins without even knowing why I was desperately trying to do everything in my power to get my horse back up that hill. Finally, another person from the stables came along and grabbed the horse's halter and held him there until the second guide showed up. This could have ended a lot differently, and I'm thankful that he wasn't hurt. But, it also could have been a great experience if it weren't for the staff member who just didn't care. My little guy was a bit freaked out and I don't know if he'll ever want to ride again, and that is the true tragedy. I called and shared my experience with someone who identified herself as a member of the family who owns the stables, but her indifference and impatience only mirrored my experience at the ranch. Seems Uncle Buck's just doesn't care, shame on them!

We went to Uncle Buck's 9/14/13. They were getting ready for a wedding and totally ignored us. We walked into an office and saw the waivers that needed to be signed, but no one was there to help. No need to go back.
