This is such a cool store! The staff is really nice and will explain the tag system to you upon entree. The items are beautiful but start off a bit pricey. It is definitely worth taking a look here!

Some really cute "discounted" (?) furniture. I'm not sure if it's consignment - given to the store from regular customers, or if it's furniture from stores where it didn't sell, was overstock, minor damage, etc. At any rate, it's a decent selection of furnishings, and many seemed priced reasonably well. Lamps, sofas, tables, arm chairs dresser drawers, and there are decorative/accent items strewn about. My mother was in love with the great selection of collectible Christmas carolers - 50% off the retail price (they go down 50% MORE tomorrow morning).

I was at your store today and my girlfriend picked out an item and paid for it, then turned around and saw somthing she wanted instead. She was informed about a no return policy, so I started looking for a sign letting the public about such a policy and couldn't find one. Then I mentioned the policy needed to be posted and was told it was everywhere. The first three places they had me look said nothing about a return police, but then behind a plant I finally found a sign with your policy. I thought the ladies were rude and snobbish and will never step in your store again.

Might be good place to buy, but be very careful when selling. When we moved we sold several products on consignment but only got paid for about half of them (at most). Tried to talk to owner but she was always "unavailable."

Selection is always good The owner is always helpful. I enjoy browsing and usually come out with something. Thanks heaven. We had a store like this left.

I've purchased many things here for my college aged kids but often the prices here are not competitive. The worst feature of the place is the people that work here; especially a long haired blond B who is rude and has no customer skills. You get no help taking your purchases out of the store. Blondie let me damage a piece of furniture by providing a defective dolly. Today, price on an item was going to drop the next day, it was 5 minutes to close, and she wouldn't honor the next day price. If I can find what I need somewhere else, I do.

I have purchased thousands of dollars of furniture from Trading Places, but my recent experience has meant I will never shop there again and I encourage you to think twice about doing business here. I purchased a small table online - for $80 - and fell and broke my humerus bone the next day. That weekend, I reached out to them to explain why I would not be able to pick up the table. I was in agony and unable to drive - my daughter has two babies and was caring for me, but the salesperson I spoke to just kept insisting that surely someone could pick it up. She reminded me of their 3 day rule and I asked if it could to be relaxed for me under these circumstances. We are talking about a 12" square table. After I said I would simply dispute the charge with my credit card company she agreed to "grant" me an extra day so I could try and talk with the manager on Tuesday, On Tuesday I was told they would charge me 10 dollars a day until it was picked up and when my daughter took the phone to try and reason with them, she was told "Your mother knew the rules when she made the purchase". I was finally able to have a friend pick this up. The owner did reach out to me a week later to apologize, but way too late. So buyer beware!!!

I have been a consignor with this store. I have NOT had a good experience with them. I received a "dead 10 month old check" in the mail recently. I returned the dead check and asked for another, they charged me a service fee for a replacement. I just now called the store to ask the manager what I was being paid for and an accounting, no one in management was willing to take my call but stood next to the phone and talked 5 min why they didn't have time to take my call. Rude and don't care.

I purchased a desk yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) and later in the evening, I received an email stating that the store was celebrating 10 Years in Business with a Costumer Appreciation Sale that was offering 10% off the entire store plus $10 off any purchase over $100 for the next two days (Wednesday and Thursday). Today (Wednesday), I went back to the store to pick up my desk and asked the sales associate if the store would consider a price adjustment. I was told NO. I was offered a $10 merchandise credit to use at the store at a later date. I politely declined and said I would NEVER be coming back. The manager couldn't even be bothered to come out and speak with me, and was apparently willing to lose a customer over $40. I have shopped at this small business since it first opened its doors in Powell 10 years ago. But, never again...there are too many options where I can receive better costumer service and am truly appreciated as a customer.

We have purchased some great furniture here and been pretty pleased with the prices. We have purchased some Ethan Allen items and have been on the lookout for items for our bedroom. Unfortunately, we will not be returning here. We were treated poorly by one of the associates the last time we were in. We were waiting for about a half hour to purchase a $900 piece of furniture because the associate was helping another customer (which is fine). While we were standing next to the piece we wanted to buy (about a half hour in), the associate walked by and made a snide comment directly to us. She then turned to the other customer and told him what she had said to us. It was unprofessional and frankly, childish. We will not be back. We went to another furniture store down the street and found an Amish piece for a fraction of the price instead. We will rather go somewhere else from now on.
