Best steak in town. One of the best steaks I've had worldwide. Great service. This place is a Gem in Columbus. Old School restaurant. Very cool and comforting.

I'm not sure why this place is so popular. It looks and feels like an old converted Wendy's on the inside, with a bar. It's dark and cramped for space. People say it's part of the charm, but not for me.I ordered the house salad and got a core in my salad and the wrong dressing. We ordered the "famous" onion rings and they were just like any other chain steakhouse giant onion rings you get, and they weirdly came with four small ramekins of ketchup. The escargot was too salty.Based on the quality of the appetizers and salad, we could only assume the entrees would follow suit in quality and decided to leave.

The Top Steakhouse exudes old-school charm with its dimly lit, retro ambiance and classic steakhouse vibe. We opted to dine at the bar, where the environment was intimate and relaxed, perfect for an upscale yet unpretentious meal. The Meal: 4.5/5The 30-day dry-aged sirloin was a standout. Expertly cooked to a perfect medium-rare as requested, the steak had a robust, earthy flavor with a tender yet firm texture characteristic of well-aged beef. The charred crust added a smoky depth, making each bite memorable. While the steak was fantastic, the accompanying sides could have been slightly more creative or adventurous to match the star of the plate.Pairing the meal with a pour of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon elevated the experience. Its rich caramel and vanilla notes, paired with hints of oak and spice, were the perfect complement to the bold flavors of the steak. It's an indulgence that lives up to its legendary reputation.Ambiance: 4/5The dark, moody interior of The Top Steakhouse sets the stage for an intimate dining experience, whether you're seated at a table or at the bar. While the vintage charm is appealing, the lighting may be a bit too dim for some diners, especially those who prefer a more contemporary aesthetic.Service: 5/5The waitstaff were attentive and accommodating without being intrusive. From ensuring our drinks were refreshed promptly to offering thoughtful recommendations, the service was impeccable. Dining at the bar felt like a personalized experience, thanks to the bartender's friendly demeanor and knowledge of the menu.Overall: 4.5/5The Top Steakhouse delivers a high-quality dining experience marked by superb service, an excellent dry-aged sirloin, and the indulgence of a fine bourbon like Pappy Van Winkle. For those seeking a classic steakhouse experience with a touch of nostalgia, this spot is a must-visit.

I had a great time at The Top! Our server was so kind and helpful, the wine was amazing, and the food was delicious. I wish the onion rings and whipped potatoes were saltier, but that was nothing I couldn't fix on my own. The steak was phenomenal, and it was an incredible date night.

Laurie was our server and she is 5*. Helped out four-top in so many ways. Great gimlet and Sazerac. Impressive. Our Rez was in the patio but there were heating issues. We were lucky we arrived early and were able to switch to the dining room. I'm not sure others would be able to do that, when we left at 745 the restaurant was super crowded. Hamburgers, ribs, fish were all excellent. See you next time Top, always a favorite of ours.

While I was in Columbus for a nursery convention I was invited to dinner at this establishment. It was a bit off the beaten path but obviously it has been here for some time. So it must be good right? When you walk in it is quite dark and it is a bit of a labyrinth. I needed a guide to get me to the outside patio area and our table. As we wove through the smaller rooms and dark halls it felt like something out of a spy movie... I kept expecting nefarious deeds to be being performed around he next corner or someone to say "Bond... James Bond" or "shaken not stirred".Once outside at my table it was much more normal. they had these just planters that were outstanding in various places. The patio area was filled with plants and planters... it created a nice scene.Once we were ready the table ordered various apps and drinks. Crab cakes, calamari, etc. it was all good... nothing exceptional but good. For our mains, well it is a steakhouse, so I ordered the 14oz ribeye. With sautéed mushrooms. I asked fir medium rare but it came out medium to medium well. It wasn't shoe leather but it was on its way. The steak was seasoned nice but there was little to no juiciness. The potatoes I got as my side were good, yep that's right not mushrooms... turns out they were out of those. In the end I ate what I could of the steak and it was ok.I usually pass on desert but they were boasting a bread pudding on the desert menu and that is my favorite desert. I ordered one against my better judgement and what my stomach was telling me. I should have listened. The bread pudding was dry and really only marginally good. It certainly was not worth getting. The flavor was minimal and a dry bread pudding is not something worth eating. Our service was fantastic. Having a table of 10 was a chore for the staff and getting everything out relatively at the same time is no easy task but this crew did it.My meal was not terrible... but if I had been paying these prices for just mediocre food I would have been much more upset. By the way I tried to get out of this place after dinner and had to send up smoke signals to be rescued. They sent out a search party and they rescued me. This is a confusing building!

Enjoyed dinner at The Top a few weeks ago and everything was excellent! Loved the vibe in this old-school restaurant. I had the petite filet and my husband had the ribeye and both were cooked to perfection. The mac and cheese was delicious as well! Can't believe it took us so long to dine here!

Came here for restaurant week. Everything went well. The service was excellent with a live pianist on the background. Food was outstanding and the ambiance is really romantic. The men's restroom is a little bit small and the parking was a struggle on our 8pm reservation. Good Top steakhouse experience

The best steakhouse in Columbus! Heard about this place for a long time, but this was my first visit there to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. They have one of the best bourbon selections I've come across. All of the food was very good. The interior is like taking a step back in time and it's a great experience.
