Went for the first time this year and the putt putt course is SO freaking cute! The staff was extremely friendly. The putt putt was challenging which is nice and was extremely unique. My son gets a milkshake every time we stop. We didn't get to do the batting cages but can't wait to bring his stuff to come and do it. Remodel well done!!!!

I'm sure this place will get a lot of business , just for the fact there are not many options in the area. Food is average even a little below but basically what you would expect from a small Dairy Queen type place .My biggest issue was the price. Holy cow. I got a sloppy Joe. , coney , onion rings and a small shake. $21.00. I will probably never eat here again just based solely on price. The food again was not horrible. The staff is super nice so not one issue there. It's the price. They charge extra for everything and it's just way to expensive. Shame because I love little places like that .

I've stopped here a few times. The strawberry sundae was pretty good and the service has always been great. I did get lunch here a few days ago and enjoyed it. The fresh-cut fries were good, I also bought the Philly cheese steak. In my opinion, it needs more peppers, onions, and cheese but I will ask for that next time. My dog loved his hotdog as well. I recommend stopping in for a treat or a meal. I know I will be back soon. I just wished they were open on Monday when I'm usually in the area.

The idea of this place is really cool and brings you back to simpler times. The execution of it just needs to be polished a bit and it could be a staple for years to come. They played a lot of Elvis and other 50/60's music to set the ambiance. The coney was good and the chili had a unique sweet taste to it. Not as good as Skyline that's forsure but good. The putt putt course was fun but they need to make the surface you start on wider so you can stand comfortably without hanging off the edges. Prices were fair and the service was nice. My other recommendation would be to figure how to make a root beer float in the frosted mug since you're called The Root Beer stand. Was handed to me with soft served in a mug and root beer in a separate cup, just odd.

My friend and I brought our kids to play putt putt (ages 3, 4, and 12) and eat lunch. We all had a great time! The putt putt course was so fun and a great addition to the lake! The food is really good. The fries are like the kind you get at the fair and this is my second time having a burger. Delicious! I think the prices are pretty on par with the rest of the lake and they have put a lot of money into this place to revive it. It was such an eyesore and we are so glad that it is not run down anymore! And they have dole whip, like at Disney!!!

I believe THE Root Beer Stand has some of the best food at Indian Lake. I will always choose local, family owned restaurants over the big chains. Their chili dogs and burgers are delicious and their sides are excellent. The fresh cut fries and onion rings are crisp and tasty...some of the best I've had. These guys don't cut corners or sacrifice quality with their food and it shows with how tasty it is!I also enjoy their sundaes and shakes. The Brownie in particular is to die for. It's a warm fudge brownie with real dairy soft serve from Arp's in Defiance. Go to THE Root Beer Stand for the experience and take the time to appreciate the things that make places like THE Root Beer Stand so special. Like the iconic neon sign that takes you back to nostalgic times. And the putt putt course that pays homage to all the local attractions that also make Indian Lake so much fun! You can't make family memories at places with double drive thru lanes and 13,000 identical locations. You CAN make family memories at THE Root Beer Stand! And if you're in a hurry like I was tonight, their online ordering was super easy and convenient. I walked right up and got my dinner handed right to me with a smile from the friendly staff. I highly recommend treating your family to THE Root Beer Stand experience!

We've tried this place twice now and both time the food was sub par and over priced. This time I asked if they were doing orange cream twist cones, as I'd thought I'd seen a couple days prior on the road sign, and was told yes they were, so I ordered an orange medium twist cone and a butterscotch milkshake. The cone, which wasn't filled all the way, was orange sherbet only and the milkshake was 90% milk with a HINT of butterscotch, both of which was gross and wasn't worth the $11. A couple of ladies after me asked if they had Doyle whip and were told yes they did, they too received orange sherbet instead of what they asked for. First off they need better training on what they do offer and how to make it properly. Needless to say we will not be back, we can get MUCH better food and ice cream at "Shake at the Lake".

Very expensive. HUGE SIGN DEMANDING YOU TIP but there is no wait staff. They hand you food out of the window. Extremely expensive and small portions. Will not be going back. Shredded chicken sandwich was tiny yet cost over $6, same with sloppy Joe, fries are ok but not a lot. Hot dog is over $4 for an average size hotdog. We ordered queso on it and barely got any. Service people were nice, but they have a huge sign in regards to them wanting TIPS on the front. So they guilt you for tips, while skimping on food quantity while also upping price. Drinks for a meal were really small sodas, in really tiny cups. The root beer is just store bought. It doesn't cost that much to make these products, yet they are scaling back on portions, upping the price, and demanding you pay their employees salary. Instead of having a quality business they are bilking the community.
