The Party Studio

I found a Groupon for a discount (although if you go on their social media they have an even better discount for April classes). I came here on a Thursday evening just to do something creative and explore Columbus a bit more. Despite the GPS getting me there fine, i struggled a bit to find the entrance itself but came in to find a big bright studio full of color and fun paintings, with the instructor on the phone helping other lost folks guidance on how to get there. I did manage to find signs that guided me to the entrance thankfully!The instructor and owner introduced herself and we eventually got started. She took us step by step and broke down each step to the size of brush and way to do each technique on the canvas. She walked around and helped all of us along the way. It was a small class of 7 so we got lots of one-on-one attention but I can see how in a more packed class that would be a challenge. She was very patient, encouraging, and super complimentary which I loved!She didn't rush us out of the studio even though we ran late, and since we were a small class she even gifted us a free glitter application on our paintings which is normally $1 extra. The cool thing is she also sells older paintings for $5, so you can check out previous projects and shop before, during, and after you paint.It's a BYOB kind of place but she has corkscrews, wine glasses, and a deal with the bar next door if you choose to order food.The only negative is that the class was supposed to start at 6:30 but we didn't start until after 7 which ended up having us end much later than 9:30, but nothing that would deter me from coming back here and bringing friends as well!

We had so much fun! Tamie was awesome. The atmosphere was super dope. Just a great night. Can't wait to try it again.

We are here for a fundraiser (Ronald McDonald House) do there were music and tasty finger foods. Our instructor (Tami?) was great. She is full of personality. She also gives you a lot of feedback and help. Since the time of my last review, the studio has become a lot more popular. It is harder to find open to all events on the weekends as fri- sun are mostly tripled booked for private parties and events (that shows you how good they are).I think my friends and I are so hooked now that this may become a frequent thing, if we can find open weekends.

My experience at The Party Studio was amazing. I found discounted passes on Amazon Local and proceeded to make a date at TPS. Making a reservation was mostly painless, although slightly confusing. You have to do everything on the TPS website. You go to the calendar and choose the class you want to attend based on the picture you'd like to paint. You add that picture to your cart and then checkout. On the day of your event, you just show up (with snacks and beverages, if you'd like) and choose a seat. Canvases on easels are already set up and paper plates of paint are brought to you by the instructors. Attendees start the class in their seats but eventually everyone is standing... drinking, laughing and trying to perfect their art. And there's music playing in the background...it was literally an art party in there!Our instructors were also awesome. They're names escape me but I think the main instructor was Tami and the co-instructor was her son...Andrew(?). These two were adorable and were really helpful in making our paintings great.I highly recommend this place for a fun night out :). And try not confuse your paint water cup with your wine cup...hahaha

Great place to have kids summer camp! Lots of fun for all ages. Miss Tammy is awesome.

This is a fun venue to attend .. you don't need to have experience .. they give you step by step instruction ... at the studio BYOB ... other off site venues you purchase drinks and food from the host of the event. Cindy is very nice and accommodating . Check this place out for a girls night out .

A fun time.Instructors are clear in showing how to make the project.Be warned - a full class can get extremely loud and very crowded.Get there early if you want a seat on the outside edge.

So fun! Our instructor and the assistant were both super helpful and positive. I am a far cry from an artist but they made it so doable and fun. We brought our own wine and snacks and made friends with the people around us. Definitely an awesome way to spend 3 hours on a Friday night!

If the "artist" says her name is Zoey then you should run. She seemed to be drunk and had people painting all over her face instead of teaching how to do the painting. It was a fairly complicated one and she only taught it in three steps. Also, hers looked absolutely nothing like the example. It was a horrible experience and I don't know if it was just this one person or if it is always like this. I definitely recommend checking to make sure it is not Zoey before you go.

I will leave an actual review of the experience if I ever get to try. I have left two voicemails and and two emails for the owner in the past 4 days to ask a question. No response at this point. Need to give one star on communication and response so far.
