So much fun to see what has changed at the Ohio union. I went with family who hadn't seen the renovations completed several years ago. I had hoped more things were open though the grab-and-go was great for getting some water.

It's spacious, open, and LEED certified. This means that it's a green building! Something to be proud of here on OSU's campus.Lots of windows and skylights too.Glad that college campuses care about being environmentally friendly.

A great place to hold events. Decent catering if a bit expensive between rental, food, av, etc.Monitor your event well, with so many events concurrently going on, things can get looked over.Double check your bill to ensure fulfillment.High rates of event coordinator turnover.Loading dock is great for caterers, but not so great if you are schlepping supplies, giveaways or large boxes, etc.

The Union is a great place to hang out attend events enjoy a meal. There is a large area with an enormous fireplace with comfy seats to sit in. You can relax in rocking chairs as well that are lined up by a large window. Displayed on the walls are works of art as well as from the ceiling. The parking garage can accommodate many cars. It's a great set up!

Whether or not it was purposely done, it seems the giant western window of the newish Ohio Union is aligned with the setting sun of the equinox. As it is just two weeks near the autumn event and the sunlight is so strong coming in that yesterday evening I could hardly see the walking the stairs without shades. Give me the staff of Ra and a model of Ohio State and I could find where the Ark of the Covenant is hidden on campus. Gees, it was hot and bright.I do dig this new student union. Although I love the old building where I would sleep between class, do homework, or skip lecture in favor of euchre, this new building is impressive. From the High Street entrance the interior motif seems inspired by the grand cathedrals of Europe. The white frame arches and chandeliers hanging with white cylinder lights are grand changes from the 1950 modern style building of the past. Three floors overlook the scene, all are flushed full of Buckeye pride, with the history of Ohio State on plaques, scarlet and grey decor, artwork, and words of the Alma Mater scripted on the wall. The statue of this cathedral's patron saint stands below--Brutus.A hall beneath has beautiful red lighting giving that area a colorful feel. This place is so clean that the crew needs applauded. I'd have no worries of the three second rule here. The union has many of the entity a good student union should have: meeting rooms, a multicultural center, Woody's tavern, a food court, and a coffee house. It still has the sofas and chairs the certainly must beckon today's students as in my day: skip class, come sit with a mocha, play cards.

The first thing you notice in the Ohio Union is that it is not really possible to be confused about what university you are at. The sheer amount of scarlet, gray, Ohio/Block O, and buckeye decorations is jawdropping. This includes the bathrooms with their bright scarlet sinks and scarlet/gray tiling. There is also a cute Brutus Buckeye statue on a bench on the first floor, which is perfect for pictures.Buckeye pride and history is also exhibited throughout the building, with little museum-like displays. There is one area the features alumni and their contributions - who knew that the fellow involved in developing Drano was a Buckeye? There are a lot of neat stories in that area. Another exhibit is a series of doors. Behind each is the story of the union associated with the door, starting with the new one today and heading back to the time when there were two unions, one for men and one for women. There is also a lantern shaped tower, which is home to the Multicultural Center on the lower floor and to a beautiful, quiet study space/lounge with computers on top. The sign explains that the lantern was a deliberate construction, as the underground railroad went through here in a former building. There are many of these little signs for those interested in history or trivia. The art is also really neat. It also can be found throughout the building, on the walls and in little display cases. There are many nooks and crannies for studying or relaxing, and there are several services here including several dining locations and a coffee shop, a bank, and a store that features Buckeye themed, local, and Ohio products. Staff, faculty, students and alumni can find services including BuckID, Student Life, an alumni area, and a student leadership center. Event spaces are plentiful - there are many meeting rooms, a couple of ball rooms, a performance hall, a theater, and more. Parking is easily accessible in the two next door garages - just check the signage to see where you should park as a visitor or keycard holder.Beautiful building; well worth a visit for Buckeye fans!

The Ohio Union is quite simply the finest compliment to student life at The Ohio State University one could ever hope for while enrolled ... and as an alumni. Every teen thinking of attending OSU, every parent who is considering seeing their child(ren) attend OSU needs to take a tour.Food Service: On the first floor there are a number of offerings that range from a wonderland of HDTVs and pub grub at Woody's to the Market Place for cafe' style hot and cold foods and take-aways, to the Coffee Shop for pastries, fruit and a mix of coffee, lattee and the likes. And affordable pricing.Rooms: The Archie Griffin ballroom, the Barbie Tootle conference room (Greek themed), and all the other myriads of places to hold meetings, classes and such. Incredible to think there is so much modern, e-equipped space on all three floors.Asthetics: Scarlet and Gray themed. Gray marble and wood. Brass and wrought iron. Everywhere look are the fined-tuned aspects of Ohio State life, themes and such. The college's Alma Mater is etched into the wrap-around marble facade circling the main entry, wrapping around a visitor upon entry - very touching.Marketing/Advertising: HDTVs serve the day. Placed precisely along sight lines at entry points, visitors or those on a schedule will surely know what is going on, on what floor and when. And merchandise - there is a wonderful OSU clothing and memorabilia store that offers all wearables and such themed for the Buckeyes. And Huntington has a bank center and ATMs there.Other: Elevators, Disability Access, Library areas, .... the Ohio Union pure and simply offers an oasis for students and visitors an oasis and a full-fledge picture of what makes The Ohio State University special.

The Market has always been my favorite place to go. However, some incompetent worker literally forgot to put chicken in my grain bowl today. I watched her do it and then asked her if she could add the chicken SHE FORGOT, and her response was, "Sorry, it's already been sealed."I was soooooo heated but didn't want to make a scene so I just checked out and ate my grain bowl. She needs to be fired or taken through training again because this human is incompetent
