The Market District Bar

Per other Yelpers, the beer selection and happy hour until 7:00pm are tops for any grocery store in the area. I visited for their biweekly, 4-course Flights and Bites event for $15. It was money well spent.The staff curated the pairings around the theme (Tailgating on this particular week) rather than throwing stuff together. It made for a fun experience.

Did you know that there's a really nice bar inside Giant Eagle on West Third Avenue? There is and it's a good place to hang out and try some of the many beers that they have on tap. There's always a solid, ever changing menu of mostly American beers. The variety ranges from IPAs, wheat beers, stouts, porters, lagers... You name it, they most likely have it. Prices are reasonable and there's also a daily happy hour that'll save you a buck or two.The atmosphere is upscale casual with bar seating for about 15 or 16 along with several tables that can accommodate another couple dozen people. They do get an after work crowd of regulars so get there early if you can. There's also seating upstairs if the bar is full. A bar in a grocery store? Drink, shop, drink? What more could a person want. One minute your going into the store to pick up some milk, the next thing you know, your having a beer with the locals, discussing colleges, sports, ect.... What's up Doc!!I am all for beer and grocery shopping. Deb behind the bar can point you in right direction. Plus, there is a path from the Aloft hotel across the railroad tracks. Awesome service! The bartenders are great. Prices are reasonable. Great location. Beer is cold.
