Out of towners who visited on the recommendation of our hotel staff. While the staff was very warm and polite, the meal was pretty bad, to be honest. We ordered one Reuben sandwich and the naan appetizer and two waters. That's it. At 2:30 pm, not prime lunch time, those two items took 40+ minutes to get which was ironic after listening to the hostess tell a party who was considering making a reservation for later that day that "max, 20 minutes to get food here unless we're slammed which we aren't. It would be like now and maybe 20 minutes tops!"The Reuben was fatty but not in that good, marbled way. It was in the inedible, waste most of the sandwhich way. Homemade pub fries were great though. Highly recommend. The appetizer naan, which one of us had as a meal, boasted homemade naan. Great idea. It was served cold though. Naan is warm and fluffy. This was stiff and cold and there was no way it would be distinguished as anything other than out of a bag. The avocado was a spread, not sliced avocado, that was already browning. The tomato was pink it was so unripe and the eggs requested to be poached were soft boiled. I see I'm also not the only person to mention the inability to poach an egg here. The front of the restaurant was well kept and sunny. We sat in the section by the bar in booths that awkwardly felt like the tables were too high. Next to this grouping is the kitchen. Between those areas is a glass partition that really needs a clean along with the dusty, greasy ledge next to it. This restaurant had a lot of potential and maybe it's known for something specific we didn't try, but there's really no excuse for not making sure everything that comes out of the kitchen is top notch.

Brunch Rating - 3.5/5I visited for the first time in mid-September 2023 on my day trip to Wooster, Ohio to visit a friend. We both arrived to the restaurant around after 12:00 noon. The restaurant was starting to get busy upon arrival but we luckily were seated right away.FOOD -- I ordered the Loaded Potato Omelette ($13) with side of potatoes -- inside the omelette is bacon, potatoes, green onions. I got mine WITHOUT cheese and sour cream. The omelette was good and tasted like any traditional omelette. The majority of the side potatoes were burnt but the whole meal was still edible. The omelette would have tasted better with tomatoes. I also ordered the Belgian Waffle ($8) which comes with fruit on top but I got the fruit on the side so that I could add syrup on the waffle. PARKING -- Street parking but I think my friend and I found a parking lot behind the restaurant. Overall, the Leaf appears to be a popular restaurant with the locals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While I don't live close to Wooster, I can definitely see myself visiting again if I'm ever in the area.****- 86/150 total reviews in 2023- 637 total overall Yelp reviews- Reviewed on 1 December 2023

Adorable restaurant featuring some nice basic food. We enjoyed the dog hair onlette with cube potatoes and amazing hollandaise sauce. My French toast was pedestrian and served without butter and a small side of syrup. Not impressive.Great decor, good service.

We were able to make a reservation on Open Table about 45 min ahead of time and were seated right away when we got there. I ordered the espresso martini. Delicious, however it had a dollop of whip cream on top (appearances?) if trying to give the allure of creamy, I'd rather have a splash of heavy cream. We ordered the pickle fries as an appetizer, which came with type of hot sauce. I like heat but it came right away and lingered. I'd prefer something like a signature chipotle aioli. We got the delicious taco salads. Loved the shell and all the fresh ingredients. We would have liked there to be a little Spanish rice and, guac and black beans included.

Clean, friendly and open kitchen feel. We came here while moving the daughter into school and will be back! A touch pricey however service and food were definitely on point!!! Original items on menu. The fried green tomato grilled cheese was great.

Sunday morning breakfast. What we liked-* immediate seating* cool decor and ambiance * friendly staff* had the wet breakfast burrito - good portion with enough spice/flavor but not spicy hot. Pulled pork was quite good inside the burrito.* French toast was good. What we thought could of been better:* bacon served with the French toast was covered in a cold grease- as it was greasy and cooled off.* they were out of pastures.

I moved back to Wooster over two years ago. Everyone spoke highly of the Leaf. For me, The Leaf has delivered disappointing results for all but one meal. The food has not one come to me as ordered. The restaurant has often overcooked my food. Waiting time after ordering has taken over an hour on two separate occasions. Both times the owner to her credit has given me a free meal for the next visit. The have an expo problem. I have a hard time excusing a well-done hockey puck when I ordered a medium rare burger.Don't expect refills on drinks unless Sharon is working behind the bar. I always have to ask wait staff for refills. Wait staff often forgets to refill drinks. Or they take an inordinate amount of time to get them. The Leaf provides its patrons with a pristine environment. One can easily see The Leaf cleans. It has a decent atmosphere and tasteful, current decor. As a local patron of Wooster restaurants, I try hard to support locally owned operations. But one can do better elsewhere in Wooster.

( Friday, June, 21, 2024 ) Maybe today is a OFF day because the services is TERRIBLE. The staff are nice enough if you can get them to acknowledge you. I ended up sitting at the bar because I couldn't get anyone to acknowledge me to sit at a booth. Finally, I sat myself at the mostly empty counter where the cute bar tender girl with french braids was bizzy chatting with a couple friends. She looked over at me sitting there and turned back and started chatting with her friends again. ( I started thinking it was a self serve place...seat yourself, get your own coffee, get your own menu, fry up your own eggs.) I would hate to see what this place is like when it's actually busy. The saving grace is the blueberry scone I waited a half hour for was good and the coffee was decent..(or maybe I was just really hungry!!)C-
