It pains me to leave a review of this nature, but in this day and age it's too easy to give disappointing behavior a pass which only perpetuates it. We received an invitation for a prospective member open house. We were interested but unavailable and coordinated to schedule a "private tour". As foodies and anticipated there would likely be a quarterly food & beverage commitment should we decide to pursue membership I requested the option to dine pre/post tour to evaluate the food and dining experience paying of course. Lunch was delightful. The dining room manager was friendly & offered quite a bit of information about dining services & the club, activities, events & culture. Extremely helpful, warm & insightful. So far sounded good. We meet with the individual we had an appointment with and she was awkwardly standoff-ish if not down right abrupt. The tour felt rushed, cold & disgenuine. The dining room manager suggested we stop by the terrace to have a drink, check out the vibe and we walked right by the area without as much as reference to what it was but we received a. In depth view of empty: abandoned areas such as the pool room grill (which doesnt open for another 2 weeks and the hut (pickleball, racquet ball, tennis etc). We tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but upon wrap up we subtley mentioned the "hangout area" and the description alone was dismissive. We are struggling to figure out if we were not quite what she expected and or what the club expected (hint: zoom in on my profile pic). Overall the space was dated and lacked thoughtfulness in terms of layout; offerings were mostly a la carte (read: nickel & dimey) moreover our experience with what would or should be a community engagement professional was cordial at best and left us utterly confused if we were being snubbed because of our pigment or if she was having a bad day. Not sure we will ever be awarded full clarity , but beware - exclusivity of the tallest order is not worthy of this level of dismissive behavior.

Went here today for an appointment which I scheduled through The Knot. I received an email to arrive 5 mins early, which we did. Our appointment was at 4 o'clock. We went in and told a woman there that we had an appointment to view the venue for our wedding. She went to go get someone. We stood in the foyer for 15 mins without anyone showing up. Allison, the woman in charge- called me. (We left after waiting for so long) in the voicemail she seemed to confused as to where we were and if she was "missing us." I was so disappointed with the overall lack of professionalism for a place which is so highly recommended for weddings on the knot. Needless to say, we will not be having our wedding here. I understand that things happen, but making a customer wait for that long is out right rude.

I held my wedding reception here in September of 2011 and I wanted to leave an outstanding review for anyone who might be considering holding an event there. The facilities and grounds are as beautiful as they come, the event staff is organized and very accomodating to any need or want, the serving staff are quick and polite and we were happy to find no pesky additional fees of the little things that other rental facilities charge. The food menu is extensive and every guest raved about the food. You couldn't go wrong choosing The Lakes to have an event.

Great food and atmosphere. BUT, as a former employee, I highly discourage you from working there. The clubhouse manager is terrible and is disrespectful to all of the employees, along with myself. I along with a lot of my co-workers agreed that he abuses his power and ruins the experience of working there. When he has a day off, we have great days of work! When he's working, we all have to play the avoiding game.

I can't say enough great things. The Lakes has been an extension of our family for years, and we absolutely love all of the family activities they offer. The golf course is amazing too!

I have been a member at the lakes for years. Pool and food was great as always. However, the blonde young lady who takes orders for the kitchen(i believe her name was Becca), had terrible customer service. She treated the adult members with respect but when any child would go to the order desk she would roll her eyes at them and slap down the order tickets. She would turn to her other coworkers to laugh and roll her eyes at the children ordering. Her customer service was nothing less than inappropriate. I am shocked the lakes has an employee that resembles this kind of attitude when they take pride in being a family friendly club.
