The Hills Market Downtown

I wish I lived closer, so I could shop here a few times a week! Came by for groceries after a long shift and ended up eating my dinner in the cute cafe section. Staff are super nice and welcoming. I loved my pizza, black current Swedish fish and a few spoonfuls of Jeni's White Chocolate Peppermint! Also, picked up cards and a few gifts. Loved the whole experience!!! Free parking, too.

Their pizza is amazing, i found this place a few years back with a co-worker and I've been coming here ever since. The staff is always polite and helpful.

It's been a long time since I visited this place. Today I decided to try it for lunch. They have a nice size hot & cold bar plus some prepackaged items. It was a nice variety. I ultimately decided to get some food from the hot bar. They have Mac & cheese that is a strong competitor to Whole Foods. I almost like Hills slightly better. Food was self serve but the cashier that rang me up was really nice and helpful. The overall feel of the place was good. I'll def go back for lunch again and to check out the grocery items.

Before moving to Columbus, I lived near downtown Chicago and the small locally owned market in my neighborhood brought me life weekly, especially in between grocery shopping trips. Now that I've been in Columbus for a couple years, I have yet to find a market like it. Other than probably the worst Kroger in the city, I have to travel a little further to get items. All that being said, this market is the closest I've come to finding something similar. It's not where I would normally think to go but now that I've been there, I'll be back! The pros include the fact that they have their own private lot. Score! The customer service was top notch and you could tell the staff were happy to see patrons. They also had a lot of really awesome, local-to-Ohio made goods. I was pumped to see Lapp It Up kombucha, amongst other specialty items. If we move on the cons, the list is short and heavily weighs on the fact that we're in the middle of a pandemic. Their hot foods section is closed for now, but I hear it's very good. Additionally the prices here can get up there. I laughed out loud at a twelve pack of La Croix priced at $7.99. Overall, this place is cool. I wish I could walk there from my place but the parking lot and quick drive will get me back there for sure.

Before I say anything, I must mention that I'm biased to their hot food bar (their chicken and pork is really good!!).This grocery store is the only one in the downtown area, so it's more expensive. It does have most staples at higher prices. It has a nice wine & beer section, some fresh breads, a decent cheese section. There is also a really large prepared foods section. They have a salad bar & prepared salads as well as cooked chicken/beef. They also have Charmy's, the Persian kitchen. Honestly the star of the show, and the reason I'm rating them as a 4 is the hot food bar. Particularly the meats. Sometimes I just grab a pound of meat (10.99 lb) and make my own meals at home with it. The meat is so tender and usually has a really nice sauce or spice, I would say restaurant quality or better! As long as you know what what you're getting into and what the best offerings are, I think this is a reasonable "grocery store". A plus is the friendly employees!

The Hills Market has a ton of awesome, unique food selections that we haven't even been able to find living in Chicago. They have a great artisan chocolate bar section, unique baked goods and ice creams, miscellaneous other snacks, and alcohol. The prices are very expensive, so we certainly wouldn't grocery shop here for everyday items, but they are worth the stop if looking for something special.

This is a nice market. The staff is nice. Sometimes on Saturdays they have a wine tasting. They also have a lot of cool stuff in the store that you can't always find other places.

I was really just here to pick up my Bacon Box, which Hills helped make. But I'd been wanting to come check it out; it's just out of my way, and well, downtown and parking and traffic...There is a small lot, and on a Saturday afternoon there were one or two spaces open most of the time. Free parking downtown- awesome. It's bigger inside than you might think, but not huge. You wouldn't want to shop here all the time, but they have some basics plus loads of interesting specialty items. Plus, it's very expensive. But if you live nearby and need something at the last minute, or pop in occasionally for goodies, it's fine. There were a few prepared foods that looked good, but I just didn't need any today. A decent meat selection. Nice bakery area. Lots of drinks, hard and soft. Lots of snacks. And if you need CBD-infused tea, they have it. I just got some baked goods and chips; haven't tried any yet.Good service. Nice atmosphere. Easy to navigate. I'll definitely be back.

This is a lunch spot for me, I don't grocery shop here. They have a great selection of hot food, cold food and tons of sandwich options at the deli. And Pizza by the slice!It's a little pricey, but it's all good. They do specials for lunch there are definitely worth checking out - in the summertime they do lobster rolls and then they have a hamburger cook out on the patio. ::TIP:: Make sure you get a punchcard if you get sandwiches regularly. I think it's after six you get a free one =)

Hills Market was always my go-to for their variety of hot foods. The quality of the food has went down. They are also no longer offering the selection of hot items aside for a bowl or bad pizza.
