Ah, the Fawcett Center. I used to work here 35 years ago, in the auditorium, as my work study job. We had events all the time. WOSU was based here, in the end section by the auditorium. There was a hotel, and a fancy restaurant. I learned a lot, and goofed off a lot.Today, the building has been renovated. No more hotel- athletic offices I think. No big restaurant- a small cafe, where the hotel's front desk was. No more WOSU. It's very clean and new, inside and out. Doesn't look like the auditorium gets used much, and the WOSU end looks empty. Of course, that is my impression from a quick nostalgia visit. They might be busy on weekends. There are conference rooms and meeting areas. Looks like they do catering for events. Hopefully the space is being used enough to keep it going. I saw a few students and staff, on a weekday. I've heard you can park here for events at the Schott. Be careful- all the parking is pay or permit.

I have been to the Fawcett Center SO MANY TIMES - but I'll limit this review to only this trip. I was here for a Ready to Run/Ready to Advocate Program sponsored by The Ohio State University John Glenn College of Public Affairs. The all day event was $50!!! AN amazing deal.We started at 9 with 30 minutes networking with breakfast. We had a small room with standing tables. I found one with room for me - and then grabbed my coffee and fruit. YUM! They had a great selection of coffee and teas with plenty of assorted fixings (flavored creamer - YAY!) There were also pastries and all kinds of foods but I was good - FRUIT.We started for our morning session and then went to break outs in different rooms. They had water in each and we could get a coffee to take with up (lids!) We returned for lunch which was surprisingly good. I had hoped for buffet - but it was seated and served. The salad was elegant and Excellent!!! Mixed greens, endive leaves, and stuff I didn't recognize but was AWESOME! See photo and tell me what I ate!!The chicken (2 breasts) was flavorful on the entree plate, served with asparagus and peppers - also what I think was sweat potatoes and a cream sauce. I opted out of the potato/sauce. The food was VERY good.Dessert were 3 small pastry and tart-like things. See photo. Small but enough to go great with another cup of coffee. The rest of the day was more the same - with plenty of chilled soda at afternoon break. I had an excellent time and the venue was perfect. I look forward to returning!!!

Wow, they've redone the place since the last time I was there! It looks amazing. Very scarlet and gray, of course, with large pictures related to athletics. There's a cute little coffee shop front and center when you come in through the front doors, featuring a variety of food and beverages. The event space is pretty similar to what it has been, but some of the rooms have gotten some updating. The auditorium seemed the same from my recollection. They also have a variety of break out rooms, ball rooms, and more. The bathrooms are clean and nice, and the parking lot is large and shared with the nearby Longaberger Alumni House. Parking is governed by CampusParc here, so you'll either need a pass, be attending an event where they provide you with a tag for your dashboard, or pay for visitor parking. Very nice event center!

I came here for an Ohio Nutrition Council Meeting and have no complaints. Many problems that I've had at event centers in the past were absent here. There was ample parking, the food was absolutely incredible and not overly greasy or heavy, and the staff was friendly. The facilities were very clean and well maintained and all of these things combined made for an enjoyable day at this meeting. I am keeping my fingers crossed future meetings are at this venue because it worked out so well for this one.

I make the trek every couple of years just for the Philly Steak, Chef Kevin does them like nobody can. They need to do something about the heat and I would suggest a larger non tube TV.

This is a review of their annual Mothers Day Brunch.Went with my daughter, her husband, his mom and their two young daughters and had a wonderful time. Free family photo, a lovely carnation (confiscated by a six year old) and a lovely meal. There were several conference type rooms used for seating and the buffet was in the main restaurateur. The food was delicious, everything from incredible salmon appetizers, eggs Benedict to roast beef and key lime tarts. More than anyone can eat. Great sides, salads, donuts...if you can imagine it on a buffet it was there and was delicious. Not cheap, but a memorable day.

Have never actually been inside the Fawcett Center, but I've packed in the lot several times to tailgate during football season. It's a big grass lot that's not too far from the Shoe, maybe 15 minutes depending on the crowd. There are port a johns on both ends of the lot and there's a back lower lot that they use too. This season it's $15. Do be aware if you plan to drink alcohol while tailgating, the cops came patrolling and ticketing three times before kick off of the home opener. So be smart and safe.

Don't schedule any event here that needs audio-visual support. Their AV people are idiots. Three years running, I have not been able to get a simple video or PowerPoint to run reliably on their equipment, and their people go home at 5pm.

Convenient (free) parking for events at the Schott and overall a pretty nice conference center as well. Helpful staff, nice facilities, and good A/V personnel - could use a place like this on the medical campus.
