I was late to the party on East Market, which is a shame since they're so close to where I live. I've picked up lunch from one of the vendors a couple of times, and I'm developing a Winston's coffee habit (don't sleep on their breakfast, the waffles are excellent - any of the Barons is about as luxe a breakfast sandwich as you're going to find). Service is generally quick, parking is easy during the day. Tonight I picked up dinner for the first time and I have to say, for a Tuesday night the place was HOPPING. Almost couldn't find a parking space, although there's another lot on the other side of the building that I didn't check out.The convenience could be hard on my budget, but I'm delighted to patronize this addition to the neighborhood, and I'm glad to see that others seem to feel the same.

The East Market is located in the Near-East Side of Columbus, Ohio on the corner of Oak St & Kelton Avenue. It is in the Franklin Park Neighborhood and it's a quick walk to the park which is nice to do to add to the experience if you have time to walk over and enjoy. The vendors have changed here of the past couple of years but I still love hoping in and taking a look around. My two favorites businesses inside the East Market are The Plant Gays and Railhouse. I also enjoy the Local Cantina and Columbus Brewing Company which is also in the Trolley Barn district. All next door to each other and share parking. Street parking is available as well as parking in the East Market lot. For a list of current East Market business check out their website at eastmarketcolumbus.com.

Everything about this place was amazing. The parking lot had plenty of gracious spaces, the food choices were vast and accommodating to any diet. The bar and distillery were both clean, dark and cozy. We sampled food, dessert and drinks and enjoyed everything they had to offer. Definitely a must do if you're in the area for 48 hours.

Small little market here. Small variety of food options, a few empty spots inside. Came here for Kimbap at Koso and of course they were all sold out and don't make fresh ones for dinner at all. :( Waited too long to grab peanut cookies after dinner at the Bearded Cookies and they are sold out, what bad luck tonight.

I kept hearing "rumors" about this new market on the east side, and since I'm a HUGE neighborhood market fan, I knew I had to squeeze in a trip over there during one of my visits over there to Columbus. What a great surprise, quite literally a HIDDEN gem, and I'm already planning a return visit!! I was there toward the end of the evening, so not too much was available, but what I did see was GREAT!! African cuisine, Mexican, Middle Eastern fare, Italian, Japanese/Asian fusion.... TONS of choices!! There's also a bar that was HOPPING!! Looks like a couple of places mentioned in earlier reviews are already gone, hopefully there will be some equally tempting replacements. I had (sadly) already eaten before I came here, but luckily saved room for a MASSIVE salted caramel cookie from the bakery (sorry, can't remember the name...) Parking is easy, hours are convenient, and the market is clean/fresh and new feeling, but with a great historic vibe as well. I'll be back, and this time, will be sure to arrive HUNGRY!!! :-)

Was very excited when the East Market opened and have visited numerous times. We frequent Local Cantina and Columbus Brewing often, and recently went to The Plant Gays and will certainly be back! The reason for 3 stars is the lack of consistency the market provides. Every time I have been, numerous stalls are closed. It could be a Tuesday during lunch and three of them aren't open even though their business hours say otherwise. The stalls that are open- absolutely wonderful as always. We also wanted to take the dog recently and looked everywhere for information on whether or not it was pet friendly. We'd seen dogs inside before and after searching the market website, Facebook, and Instagram, we found nothing. Online, experiencecolumbus.com stated it is dog friendly, so we took him only to be promptly greeted by a "No Dogs Inside" sign. It was frustrating as we searched everywhere and even called and couldn't find an answer from the business, and the only answer provided was misleading.

They had a Bloody Mary event where 10 different vendors provided a skewer with their food on it to put in the Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary mix looked to be homemade and it was so good! It was neat to be able to try a little bit of something from each place in the market. It even came with a baby succulent from the Plant gays!

I really enjoyed this place! It's closer to my house & way less congested than downtown North Market. It's a lot smaller than North Market but a way better concept overall. For one all of the stalls are great. There's not one miss. The food is SO GOOD & very fresh. I can't say the same for my experience at North Market all the time. I give this place props for having more restaurant stalls. North market has less places where you can get a fresh hot bite to eat & more coffee places, mini marts, butcheries, & cheese monger type stalls. All but 2 or 3 stalls here serve fresh hot food or freshly baked goods. There is SO much seating. A few of the stalls themselves have seating as well as the middle section. But the most appealing of all is the Railhouse. It's their on site full service bar. It's the heart of the main dining hall. It's so cozy & inviting. When I say this place is a better concept, besides having more fresh hot eats, I mean the way they do things. If you place an order from a stall most of them will ask your name or give you a buzzer. Your food is being made fresh so you'll have to wait a few minutes. When your food is ready, you go pick it up or they come find you. THEY COME FIND YOU! & you eat anywhere you want or take it to go. So I can take my meal to the bar area & order a drink to go with it & sit there. Upstairs is loft style. There's seating & tables all around as well as arcade games. The parking lot is free & a nice size. We went around noon on a Saturday. The lot was about 3/4 full & there was steady business but not busy like North Market gets. I'm sure it is busier later in the day. The prices aren't too bad. We tried the Korean wings from Koso, 2 Lattes from Winston's, Taktouka & Pita from Taste of Greece, & 2 bakery items from the Bearded Baker (pictured). We spent $35 total so not bad for an afternoon sampling for 2 people. The most expensive place was the new sub shop. The subs were between $16-$18 & don't come with any sides. We can not wait to go back! I want to try all the places & my boyfriend is already thinking of stopping by for a drink after work. The bar is just so cozy & cool. Excited to watch this place grow!
