The City Square Steakhouse

My godparents wanted to take my husband and I out for a nice dinner since we hadn't seen them in many months. They suggested The City Square Steakhouse. My husband and I had never been, so we were down to try it! The second I saw seafood bisque on the menu, I knew what I was ordering. It's not the easiest to find any form of bisque in Ohio, let alone one with scallops, crab, and lobster. It was perfect. In fact, I am savoring the last bites of my leftovers as I type this. It reheated well! I ordered a salad to accompany the soup and opted for the Bistro Salad- Mixed Greens, Mustard Vinaigrette, Toasted Pistachios, Baked Goat Cheese Crostini. It definitely needed cheese, so I asked for some goat cheese to add. Then it was perfect. My husband got a burger and my godparents got shrimp cocktail, side salads, steak and baked potato. The petite steaks were smaller than we anticipated, but were apparently still good. They give you bread and butter for the table too. My godmother wanted dessert and insisted I get some too. She got creme brulee (which I tried. It was great). I got a special-- cranberry curd on a ginger cookie base with little meringue cookies on top. It was so delish and perfect for this season.

My wife and I took mom out for Christmas Eve dinner. The latest reservation we could get was 3:45 PM. I must say we were surprised by the number of people there already. We were seated and it took a while for our waitress to come around and acknowledge us. I'll chalk that up to Christmas Eve and the numbers of people that were there. We proved the menu and ordered drinks and a starter of their artichoke and spinach dip. Our drinks and starter came out fairly quickly all things considered. It seems that nobody orders a Negroni there. It took them a while to sort that out. Must say that artichoke and spinach dip was absolutely delicious! The homemade pita chips or a star of that dish as well! We ordered the rest of our meal. My wife and mom decided on their small fillet while I opted for the rack of lamb with lobster mac & cheese. I also ordered a bowl of their seafood bisque. My wife and mom both thought the steaks were dry and slightly overcooked. I must say that my lamb chops were delicious! I was also surprised with their lobster mac & cheese! The seafood bisque was fairly good as well. On a down check, I asked for a glass of wine and it was forgotten due to the busyness. It was dinner out on a Christmas Eve and a busy restaurant. We did not forget our server as she was doing her best!

Literally the only reason I stop here is for the seafood bisque. I make a point of pulling off the highway everytime Im passing wooster to grab myself a bowl. You should do the same and I promise you that you wont be disappointed. This time I also got the burger, ordered it medium rare and they nailed the temp. It was absolutly delicious.

In town for a wedding, this place was next door to our hotel!! OMG were we lucky r what!!! This place has amazing food but what ever you eat, DO NOT skip the soups!!! They are to die for!!! This is a gem!!!Kayliegh is the bomb bartender!!

A group of us visited City Square last Saturday. I've eaten there many times and enjoyed my experience every time. We had reservations and had to wait 25 minutes for our table. I was fine with that knowing I was going to have a great time and a wonderful meal. However, last Saturday wasn't enjoyable. The service was fantastic but my meal was horrible. The steak was the worst steak I've ever had from anywhere. Another person at our table had the same meal and her meal was just as bad. Very disappointing. I hope the quality of your meals improves.

Yum! The food is amazing and it was wonderful having brunch in such a relaxing atmosphere. We had a reservation, which I highly recommend you make one of you want to eat here. We were greeted upon entering the restaurant, seated right away, and waters were brought immediately. The server was very attentive and I appreciated his enthusiasm. He was also able to answer our questions. I also recommend if you eat here for brunch, order coffee to drink with the complimentary scones. These are baked in house. The coffee was smooth and had a great balanced taste. Ordered the frittata which came with potatoes. Delicious! The potatoes were seasoned well and perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the frittata, which had a good balance of eggs to ingredients. Huge portions but save room for the butter cake, which they are known for. Even if you split it with someone it's so worth it!

This place needs to quit thinking they are God's gift to Wooster. I have eaten in Michelin 5 star restaurants. Tonight we were accused of abusing our dog and the dog warden was called. First we were rudely seated because we hadn't made a reservation and the restaurant was empty. Then they told us someone had reported our dog was left in a hot car. I had them pack our food, tipped our waitress a sizable tip and. Ate in the park with our dog by our side. We will never eat in this restaurant again. Our waitress apologized to us. I was in management and had my own business in California, never do you treat customers as if they are beneath you or accuse them of. This was handled poorly and wrongly.

Well, I guess they were busy, but I called ahead to make a reservation, and the young lady who answered put me on hold and never picked up again. Eventually, the call kicked over to an answering machine. I bet the food would have been good. Oh well.

Our server Spencer was INCREDIBLE! We came last minute to celebrate something special as a couple. We could not have had better service or have been happier with every service & food suggestions that Spencer provided. If you ever have a chance to eat here we highly suggest requesting Spencers section, we know we will from now on. Our appetizers were wonderful, Steaks & Seafood were superb, drinks were delicious & our desserts were both perfect! Food is amazing, period. Atmosphere was beautiful. We will definitely come back every opportunity that we get. Thank you again Spencer for making our experience memorable!
