The Brick Oven Bistro

We're travelers exploring America with our kids. We came to Sandusky Ohio to visit a friend. She gave us recommendations to come here, she said this was the best pizza place & she was right !! The crust of the pizza is amazing and they have stuff I'd never put on a pizza but it works ! We got The Loaded Baked Potato & also the Italian Beef one. Thankfully I ordered a large pizza, everyone ate my loaded potato one. Sheesh lol The service was nice. She kept filling up our drink order and would tell us when our pizzas will be ready. We also ordered appetizers, stuffed mushrooms, which were okay but also got mozzarella sticks, we loved. Great cheese pull. In fact we loved it sooo much that for my son's birthday he wanted here and on the way, Yelp said they're closed on Tuesday. We were so sad because we ended up somewhere not as good. Oh Danny Boy, the pipes. We were leaving the next day for West Virginia. Some of the best dough we've had in 21 states.

We picked this place due to some of the amazing reviews we read and it still exceeded our expectations. This restaurant is only a few minutes down the road from Cedar Point and has plenty of parking. We got there at about 6:30, were seated right away, and had our waiter at the table less than a minute later. They have an extensive beer and wine menu but since we were driving home after, we stuck to water. With 2 adults and 2 teens, we ordered 2 large pizzas to split. The kids had a large cheese and my husband and I had the meatball. So delicious. The sauce was really good and the basil on our pizza was a nice touch. Our server, Durond, was attentive, friendly, and a great conversationalist, despite being a Cleveland Browns fan (Go Steelers!) I'd recommend checking this place out. Whether you are local or just visiting, it has a nice ambiance, delicious food, and friendly people.

Pizza place inside of an old Howard Johnson's. They did a nice job maintaining it. Service was friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure what wine I wanted and I was able to sample two in cut schnapps glasses. We started with the bruschetta that was mostly cheese bread. Barely any basil. My husband and I split the he Caesar and my son had the side Caesar salad. We asked for both with dressing on the side. Both arrived dressed and with more on the side. That is a first. The pizza was ok. My husband and I shared the Greek. We changed out the sauce and which wasn't a problem. My son got the make your own with basil's and garlic. Again very little basil. Overall, good family establishment with friendly service and ok pizza.

Great pizza. Made just as I ordered. My diet is plant-based so it was one of the best vegan pizzas I've ever had. Crust was perfect. Bravo!

I was in town for business and stopped by because of the great Yelp reviews. I had the buffalo wings and the Italian stallion pizza. The wings were crunchy and delicious. The pizza was so good. Christa was the waitress and she was so nice with great recommendations. I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again.

We stopped here for dinner after a day at Cedar Point Shores. It was delicious! My husband and I chose a pizza with eggplant as a main topping. Kiddo got a calzone and had no complaints! The restaurant had some call ins the evening we went, so the owner was bussing tables, and getting boxes. Nice to see someone so involved in their establishment! We will return when we're in the area in the future!

Meh. I'm surprised at the high ratings really. The service was amazing. The restaurant clean. Service was fast. The pizza was really thin crust. I guess I'm just used to New Haven and New York style pizza. I guess it's good for the area. It thought 20$ was really expensive for what was really more like a small/medium pizza. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Stopped in based on a yelp review and this place DID NOT disappoint. The service was phenomenal, Durond was an absolute joy and even gave us a nice Thank you note at the end of the meal. Between the service, the appetizer and these brick oven pizzas...all I can say is GIVE ME MORE! So delicious. Stop in when you're in Sandusky. You will not be disappointed. I have no idea how we have missed this gem for the last decade!

Our pizza were out of this world! Brick Oven is our favorite pizza place. Even with a busy crowd, we were served quickly. The drinks were lovely as well.

We stopped here after a day at Cedar Point and were really impressed by the service, the staff and the food! We had a party of ten and everything was excellent. Highly recommended.
