Had a nice experience here. We were short on time so ordered our lunch to go but we sat inside and waited. The decor is really cute and they have windows overlooking the water. The service was super friendly too! My party ordered the portabella po' boy with Parmesan asparagus instead of fries ($1 upcharge), the pulled pork sandwich, and the boathouse salad. I am told the portabella sandwich was amazing (it looked really good!) and the pulled pork was good. My salad was a little disappointing but overall fine. They had a few appetizers that sounded tasty as well...I would definitely go back and eat inside!

The food was good. I was happy with my bill I tipped 20%. I get a notification from my credit card company they changed it to 214%. I called them. I was assured I would get a call back. Nothing.Update took about 3 days it was all fixed. Keep tabs on your cards folks!!

The Boathouse IS RIGHT ALONG THE RIVER with booth seats overlooking it & and outside patio that is just a few steps down so it's not blocking the view! There's a nice selection of AMAZING FOOD on the menu with standing daily specials. And now they are adding a KAYAK LIVERY which is going to take this restaurant to the NEXT LEVEL! They will take you up river, drop you off and you can kayak back down, exit at the restaurant & then have lunch or dinner! (sorry I don't have any pics this time. I WAS HUNGRY!! It was Thursday and they have a double Smashburger special for $16.50 you get two burgers and HANDCUT french fries! You can upgrade to onion rings for just an extra 50 Cents!) YUMMO!!

It was a disappointing experience. In a nutshell, the food was not fresh and the servers were incompetent not to mention their poor manners. My friends and I were so excited to try this restaurant. The setting looked amazing, the atmosphere of the restaurant and the menu looked so good!Starting from the moment we sat down, the ordering process for dine-in items was unnecessarily difficult and slow. Also, we had to jump through hoops to make a to-go order. The server first said its not possible to make a to-go order, then said we need to speak to a manager in order to make a to-go order. Overall, an unnecessarily difficult experience.The dine-in orders showed up and yet again, we were disappointed and concerned for our health. Cold, hard fries on the poutine, and soggy, limp, warm fries on another order. The onion rings were drowning in an absurd amount of oil, similarly, the mac and cheese was also drowned in a pool of orange colored oil. There is no reason the food need to be cooked in that amount of oil.The grilled salmon was overcooked and dry. More alarmingly, it smelled really fishy, indicating questionable freshness and raises health and safety concerns. A surprising outcome for a restaurant named the boathouse. All of us left the restaurant concerned for our health. When the bill came, the server hovered over the shoulder. As soon as the bill was signed, the server reached over and yanked the bill away and left.My friends and I entered the restaurant with joy and excitement and left disappointed and worried for our health.

Great food and fast service! It also has a pleasant view of the river and a nice interior. I'm always nervous about going to places an hour before closing but they served us fast and the food was actually great. Shame I am in this area of Ohio so rarely otherwise I would be there more often.

Server said they were short staffed and to be patient. Slow is one thing- but watching other people get served and only having drinks and no refills after an hour is another. Our table finally got refills after an hour. Bad day for sure, but we work in town and we're excited to try this place. Prob won't be back for lunch anytime soon. Hr 20- still no food. Should of left

Ok. So we waited a few months for the "service" issues to be worked out that other reviewers say were in play. And then today we went. Started off fine. Waitress asked us what we wanted, I ordered a beer, the wife a water. Waitress asked if I wanted a water as well, and I said, yes, that would be nice. My beer, and wife's water arrived. No water for me. Little did I know this was the start to a total train wreck..Very very slow in the kitchen. Place WAS NOT packed. So 20 minutes later I had to order another beer. That was fine with me. Wife's soup arrived a few minutes later, and it was cold. How does soup get cold. (1) sitting under a warmer for too long, or (2) not hot to begin with? We were told by the owner it was because someone had put "more" soup from the fridge into the pot before they drew ours out. Really? Excuse. So we sent it back, and 5 minutes later it comes out....still barely warm. How is that possible? They could put it in a microwave for 1 minute and we would not have been the wiser. But nope. So they agree we will not be charged for the soup. How nice of them.The our meals arrive. Well, I should say my meal. My fish dinner of catfish and walleye arrived, my wife's basic salad with grilled chicken, did not. Again, how is that possible? A salad can be made anytime in the 30 minutes, then just grill the chicken, and at worst keep it on the back part of the grill. But nope, we were told the grilled chicken was not on the "ticket". So waitress issue, or order placement issues, or kitchen issue. Take your pick.So I begin to eat, and 7 minutes later her salad with the grilled chicken shows up. My fish was fine. Tempura, which I don't really like, but it was good. Her Salad was WAY TOO SMALL to offer as a dinner salad with chicken. The waitress says the manager (who really is the owner, BTW) will come over again, but does not. So now we are waiting for check and the "manager. Meanwhile, we proceed to watch both owners (we know who they are from Internet photos) bus a table not 10 feet from ours. Neither one comes back to our table. So we leave some $$$ on the table, tell the waitress as we are getting up and she comes over, that she and the staff can figure out what to do with the $$$ we leave, and then we leave. They need to figure out the basics of this operation. Not to sure what else to say.
