I had a great time at a recent paint and sip event here. We came for the Starry Night Dublin Bridge event. Terra Gallery is a working gallery that hosts a variety of hands on events listed either on their site or on eventbrite. I didn't spend much time exploring the gallery because I was pretty sure I'd need all of the time for my project, but there were a lot of interesting looking pieces that I will plan to explore more in the future. The space is a little small, but they have made good use of it, and are planning a move across to Bridge Park soon. I was glad I recruited a friend to join, because we were the only two people in the class! It was a fairly laid back event. The instructor had sketched out the details on the canvases before we arrived, and they provided a little instruction card that kind of showed how to build your piece up. As usual with these events, we ended up with two very different finished products, and my friend chose not to add some of the elements to her piece. April helped her take things out as she preferred. Since it was just the two of us, we were chatting and painting and the instructor was working on her own piece while another woman priced pieces in the gallery. They were very friendly and I had a great time!

Last week I took an acrylic pour painting class at Terra Art Gallery. It was my first time visiting this art studio. I had the best time! It's a really cool space and I enjoyed looking around at the different art pieces they had out on display. It was really neat to see what people are creating here. We arrived early for the class, and we were graciously welcomed into the classroom area. I believe our instructor was April. She was so friendly and informative. She showed us some different techniques and explained everything about the materials and how to do this as a hobby. I came back a few days later to pick up the canvases from the class. I met another woman who works there, however I didn't catch her name. She helped me pick out some nice frames for our canvases. She set the frames up for me just how I wanted them, and she gave me all the parts and pieces I would need to hang the frames. I am looking forward to taking another art class here sometime soon. Highly recommended!!

Terra Gallery is well-suited to the Olde Dublin downtown area. The gallery's owner, Jeff Hersey, is a real renaissance gent who has disciplines in metal sculpture, music and real people skills. There are many types and styles of art and design which Terra Gallery house. One of the watercolor artists who regularly has he work there is Karen Groeniger. Small paintings and large paintings, both, can be viewed and purchased at Terra Gallery.Popularity of Terra Gallery has allowed Jeff to expand the operation into the area which was once an olive oil distributor. The timing of the expansion couldn't have come at a better time with the new Bridge Street complex across the river coming along quickly.Jeff/Terra Gallery continues to promote a Dublin gallery hop event with locals participating. And there are some evening and weekend events such as a "Painting Night & Wine" that is sometimes offered. Sounds like fun! I would encourage everyone interested in art and design to pop-in to Terra Gallery and visit with Jeff. The local artists will thank you and you'll thank yourself.

Went here for the abstract paint class last Saturday. This is an outcome based event, pay your money and and take home a abstract little painting on canvas. Here is where the problem started. I understand if I suck at it, it's my fault. If the materials fail it's not my fault. My canvas wasn't stretched properly so the paint just puddled In the middle (it's supposed To run and ooze over the sides) then on top of. It all there way so much silicone (it causes the paint to bubble) that my paint just Slid straight. Off when I tried to spread it. They did ask if I wanted to wait till it dried and try again. Why would I? Oh that would be on the same canvas as first try. And would have had to spend 2 more hours On the do-over. If I was Drinking maybe this would have been less irritating. Only reason for 2* was My Wife's turned out massively better than mine. Her material prep was better.

Unorganized. Quick rotating staff where people are unsure of what they are doing. Takes advantage of workers. You'd be better off buying art or taking classes elsewhere!

I love this place! It's in a fantastic location in the heart of downtown Dublin. There is so much going on in that area, and Terra is a great spot in the mix.I had my bridal shower here and it was fantastic! It was such a unique venue and it had plenty of room for 30 or so guests. I have received so many compliments on what a fun place it was to have my shower. It was so easy to coordinate and plan, and Jeff the owner suggested doing a painting where each of my guests could add something that reminded them of me to it. It turned out great and it is such a great talking piece in my home and brings a smile to my face every time I see it.I also recently attended a paint party here. We were able to plan our own group and have our own private party for $35/person. This included light hors d'ouevres and we could bring our own wine and other food. That is such a plus compared to the other paint parties around town (I.e. Paint Nite) where you have to buy your food and drinks at whatever restaurant you're at. I was a little intimidated at first because I am used to painting whatever the instructor gives us and receiving step by step instructions. At Terra, you can paint whatever you want. The hardest part was finding what I wanted to paint. Once I had that decided, I had a blast. Jeff and his intern Erin helped us with any questions or advice we needed, and all of our paintings turned out great. It was wonderful to have more one on one attention compared to the groups of 30 or so you often find with other paint classes. This was the best painting I've ever made. I can't wait to go back and paint something else! This time I will come prepared with my idea. :)On top of all this, the art on display is beautiful, so it is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!

I took the Acrylic paint and pour class taught by Rowan and highly recommend it to artists and non-artists alike. Rowan's a great teacher and a skilled artist. The experience is totally worth the cost and if you're not happy with the way your art turns out there's plenty of really cool stuff in the gallery you could purchase and take home instead :)

Love this gallery! I recently moved and was looking for a few art pieces to fill some spaces in my home. Jeff was so helpful by assisting me in finding the perfect selections. Jeff also created a piece especially for my dining room that was better than I could have imagined, it fit perfectly and reflected the personality of the room and my family. Jeff cares about his clients and can help even the most inexperienced art collectors find exactly what they need!
