I tried out Teodora's while they were parked out front of Zauber Brewing on 5th Ave in Grandview. I was the first customer of the day at 11:30am so there was a slight wait for them to get everything started up. I tried the ground beef empanadas with a side of fried plantains ($8). The beef was grass-fed and had a great flavor but I felt like the pastry of the empanada needed a couple more minutes in the deep fryer. I got 2 empanadas in my order. The plantains were tasty and crunchy around the edges, which is just how I wanted them. They served my meal with a mild tomato salsa (good) and a tiny cup of habanero sauce (omgomgomgomg too spicy!!!!)I'll definitely try them out again the next time I'm in a truck mood and they're hanging around.

Tried this out last night when my gf stopped here after work and wowzers, it was amazing. She drove back home to Dublin, a 20-25 minute drive and the food was still piping hot. She got some tacos and the carne frita- Both were delicious. The Plantains were great, they were served two different ways. It was as good of food I have ever had from a Food truck. No question, i will be coming back and can't wait to try out some of the other items they have on the menu.

I'm surprised that there are no reviews for this (apparently) hidden gem. Located on south high, Teodora's Kitchen serves Panamanian food - a first, to my knowledge, in the Columbus food truck scene. They advertised four meals on their whiteboard as well as several sides. Since they had no vegetarian options, I asked the woman behind the counter (presumably Teodora) if she could make me something. She looked skeptical but offered me the choice between lentils and rice or tacos. I asked if I could get the lentils in the tacos and she said she would see what she could do.I was admittedly a little nervous as I waited about ten minutes. I was reassured that this was for the double frying of the plantains. When I tasted my food - which turned out not to be tacos after all - I realized that I had nothing to worry about. The lentils were delicious, slow cooked with tomatoes, cabbage, onions and yellow peppers. The twice fried plantains were certainly worth the wait. Sliced into hot, crisp medallions, they were dusted with sea salt, playing up their savory side rather than the more common sweet. The best surprise however was the rice which had a substantial amount of saffron in it. I already knew that saffron and lentils were a winning combination and I was sold. In total, it was nine dollars, which I think is pretty reasonable as I have about half the rice and lentils leftover. I would definitely recommend Teodora's Kitchen, plus it's one of the prettiest food trucks I've ever seen. They're open 11-2 Tuesday thru Friday.

Stopped by their truck on South High Street for lunch and ordered the empanadas and plantains. The plantains were super-thin, super-crisp, salty and delicious, not greasy at all. Tasted great with the salsa. The empanadas were crispy on the outside and nicely browned, again not greasy. But the thing, THE THING, is their hot sauce. HOLY COW. It is hot (tears popped out of my eyes - what I get for dipping the plantains rather than doing the empanada first!) but quite flavorful and did bring out the empanada flavors and textures more. I like hot and spicy, however, and a couple bites later I was hooked. Glad I need to make my way down to Whittier and High once or twice a month - now I can get lunch there too.

After viewing Chef, we were inspired to try a new food truck. We stopped by Teodora's outside Seventh Sons brewing on N. 4th St. Tried the Carne Fritas Con Lentejas (Grilled flank steak sautéed with fresh tomatoes and onions served over lentils, steamed rice, yucca* and garlic). The steak was both juicy and tasty, not tough as flank steak sometimes can be. The other ingredients and spices set it off perfectly. Big portion, too - I had the leftovers for lunch today. Yum!

Okay, this is one of those food trucks that is kind of confusing because it takes a really long time to wait for your food and it's also expensive enough that you feel like you should have table service. But, the food is delicious. SUCH a welcome addition to the German Village food selection!

The carminolas were ok. it did not taste like yuca and the meat was not tasteful at all. The ceviche tasted out of a can. I really wanted to like this place and the service was good; however I will probably not go back again.

Amazing experience at Teodora's Seventh Son truck stop today! The Sancocho was the perfect mix of citrus and spice, while the plantains were crispy and flavorful- a fantastic departure from the greasy, soft, bland versions often encountered at quick stop shops around town. Service was quick and friendly. New Sunday favorite.

First visit to Teodora's Kitchen for lunch this afternoon (at Zauber Brewing). I tried the fish tacos, with a side of the patacones (twice fried green plantains which I have also heard called "tostones") which were made to order and were absolutely perfect. I'm already looking forward to my next visit so I can try more of the menu.

This place is severely underpriced for the quality of their food! They must have razor thin margins and depend a lot on tip to earn a living. For $6 you can get an authentic South American steak entree. Lowest I've ever seen anywhere else is $10. Friendly service too! Hope they stay in business.
