Tatoheads = a solid food truck lunch experience!Tatoheads parks outside of Germania on Front Street from time to time and it is SUPER close to my work so, recently, I decided to check it out.The first thing I did notice was that the poor young lady working in the truck was all on her own. This lead to the Tatoheads experience taking a VERY long time. I saw other colleagues walking to other restaurants in the area who both passed me heading to lunch and heading back to work because I was in line for so long and then had to wait for my food for so long. The gal working in the truck seemed very flustered even though she was super nice. When she brought me my order, she realized that it was completely wrong. She was super apologetic but I didn't have time to wait any longer so decided to go ahead and take the food she made. I ended up with Bacon Cheeseburger Fries. They were super delicious! It was such a yummy meal. Sadly, I am allergic to dairy so I ended up with some hives and a rash for eating it but it was basically worth it since it was so tasty. The portions were HUGE and I could barely finish my meal. I really liked it a lot and I hope to check it out again when they're less busy or less understaffed.

I went to Tatoheads when it was in North Campus. It has a pretty simple menu. There's French fries and sweet potato fries, and tater tots. It has several kinds of ketchups and sauces. There is some other stuff too and it's a good choice to fill your stomach before hitting the bars. I had the sweet potato fries with the cilantro ketchup and a pop. It was about $5 for the fries which is more expensive than others but it was a lot of fries. The cilantro ketchup was really spicy and went very well with it. Along with the fries they also have stuff like poutine and tater tots. There are sauces like cheese and mayonnaise. It's not all healthy but it's good hangover food. The service was kind of slow for making something as simple as fries. It's busy but still they could be better prepared for customers. They have often been out of sauces which sucks because the sauces are needed to eat it. I would recommend Tatoheads for anyone who likes French fries. It's not cheap but it's better than any fast food. Would stop again if it's around and hungry enough to go there.

Again, more hype and excitement then needed. It was better than all the other food trucks at the festival, but only because the others really weren't great.Again, pricey, $4 for fries, and an extra $1 for sauce which of course you need. Then $7 for "combos" meaning loaded fries. We got the chicago dip with fries and I chose spicy which was too hot for me or my son so my husband got it.The fries were nothing special, a bit of mozz, some steak and way too much watery gravy which stained up everything.I did get to try the herbs de provence topping which was great exactly the right herbs it should be and I refused to pay $1 for ketchup so I asked him for a taste of the roasted red pepper and cilantro ketchup (with such a name I coulbd't leave without at least tasting it) and he gave me a try, it was not as expected.More like your cornstarch filled jellolike sweet chili sauce with green specks in it, so glad I saved the money on that.In all ok, but not worth going to again, I don't like fries enough to make a meal out of it and the portions not big enough to fill you up.

I feel terrible going against all the great reviews but I have to be honest. I ordered a breakfast burrito. Was that my first mistake?I was pretty tipsy, love burritos, love food trucks, had a serious case of the drunchies and am obsessed with potatoes, and I still threw most of the burrito away. I NEVER throw food away. Im not sure if it was what I ordered or when I ordered (around midnight) but it was awful. First, the burrito was huge and had a grand total of three tots in it. I know because I ended up unwrapping the thing and eating the tots out of it. Next was that it was full of lettuce. I may be the crazy one here but I have never had a breakfast burrito with lettuce on it... and after this one I dont recommend it. Last, I'm not sure the chorizo was actually chorizo... or perhaps the sauce just made it taste a little off. Regardless, don't order the breakfast burrito. Sorry tatoheads. Truly

Tatoheads menu is all about the potato and they have it down perfectly! I ordered the chorizo cheese fries with sweet potatoes and they were perfect. The fries were super crispy but not burnt and were amazing on their own. Even the ones smothered in cheese, chorizo, and tato's sauce remained crispy which was impressive. The chorizo had very good spice, the mozzarella melted on top was perfect, and tato's sauce (similar to spicy ranch is say) added a perfect balance of flavor. Overall these were some of the best fries I've had and from a pretty cool truck. Only complaint is that I had to search for 10+ minutes for their location because the address listed on the "Find Us" was incorrect and they were not very close to the description for it either. Still worth the adventure for those sweet potato fries though!

I still love Tatoheads!!It is a meal in a paper boat. I recently tried their vegetarian chili as a topper! Pretty good if a bit on the spicy side. For a $7 combo with cheese et all, it's a delicious deal.I recently had a combo, whilst the truck was stationed outside of St. James' Tavern, and it was almost like a veggie gyro. Spicy hummus type stuff was the foundation with even more sauces. I think tszatziki was in there. Damn fine stuff. The two combos were our late night meal, and we even took the leftovers home with us. For $14 - Wohoo!I still support sweet potato fries in any way shape or form. I need to try the tots.

Today around noon, I got in line at the Tatoheads truck with 8 people in front of me. 34 minutes later I was served a mediocre poutine. I'm actually a little ashamed to admit that I even stayed in line for as long as I did, but I assumed that the food must be worth it or else nobody would possibly tolerate that line. Totally not worth it. The gravy was good and the cheese curds were excellent but the fries were just depressing. They were barely warm and the potatoes just tasted bad and low quality.. like grainy and mealy-tasting. The tots are great, the aioli amazing... The poutine, not good.

Tonight I got the parm and peppercorn fries with tato sauce. The sauce reminded me of Caine's sauce a little bit. It was okay, not amazing but what I expected from a food truck. The downfall was the wait. People who ordered after me got their food before me.

Glad to have them in the alley during the summer downtown. For five bucks I get the curry dusted natural-cut fries, a drizzle of sriracha, and a side of the cilantro roasted-red pepper ketchup and nick it with a generous helping of kosher salt.Great vendor, always pleasant, good food.
