Bottom line: Its probably the oldest italian restaurant in Columbus.... And there is a reason for that- Its just good old fashioned authentic Italian food, like grandma used to make (if your grandma was Italian)When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore....Tat Ristorante de Familia always makes me think of this song as I walk into the dining room. Yes, they have decent pizza here but the song references more due to it feels like one is stepping back into the 1960s from the moment you walk in. I mean, even Dean Martin songs play, family pictures hang on the wall and I feel like they havent changed the wallpaper or the booths since they opened. im not saying that is bad nor does it need changed.... im just saying it is very very RETRO. Which is cute and charming in its own way. There is even an "order up" doorbell that bings when customers food is ready (it has a lit board that shows the server number that the order belongs to.). We came here with friends, there were four of us. Our table got a small pepperoni pizza delicious they have the cup and pepperoni, which is always a plus we each got something different, which is really odd for this group. One got the chicken liver and noodles one got seafood, linguine, another one of us got the tour of Sicily and I got eggplant Parmesan. The chicken liver looked really good and it comes with a huge salad, soup and fresh made noodles, truly delicious. My friend seemed to enjoy it. He said, thumbs up my other friend which would be my husband... Got the seafood linguine early bird portion. I had a taste of it and the sauce was really quite good. Came with tiny soup, tiny salad and a small scoop of ice cream. A LOT of food for under 20 bucks. , I chose the eggplant Parmesan, which comes with four cutlets of eggplant. They're cut on the thick side, which was nice. My order was also early bird. It comes with a tiny salad, tiny soup, and a small scoop of ice cream or a piece of sheet cake. (Dessert depends on what the house has that day). It was good. Eggplant was not soggy. My friend chose the tour of Italy. That is 30 bucks and wowzers, its a lot of food. But Inhad food envy looking at it. Lol. Enormous salad, house made wedding soup, small piece of veal parm, seasoned Sicilian bread a few ravioli, a small piece of sausage n onions, meat ball, house made spaghetti noodles with house made sauce (choice of sauce), spumoni ice cream. She took half home. All delicious. The ice cream is huge. Multiple scoops and sooooo good. (I stole it) Welp, Yelp.... Its probably the oldest italian restaurant in Columbus.... 90 years! And there is a reason for that: Its just good old fashioned authentic Italian food, like grandma used to make (if your grandma was Italian) Delicioso, Grazie

New to the Area, and looking for some Italian. When we walked in you can tell it's been in the neighborhood with its regulars which I like. Food; Ordered the Lasagna and it was tasty, the side sale was crisp and refreshing. Wine was also very good. Service; very friendly they could probably tell we are new to the area. Will def go back.

Girls night out we went to TAT for the Early Bird Special which goes to 6pm. The cost was $17.99/per person.I ordered the minestrone soup, tossed Italian salad, Fried chicken livers which came with a side of pasta and the best part of my meal was the peppermint ice cream. All the food was okay.I thought the salad had way too much oil and vinegar on it. My Chicken livers were not as good as what I remember. The livers were barely covered with the fried coating .Service was excellent!

I had heard good things about this place, including that they have great pizza, so I wanted to try it. We entered the dining room and it is definitely a blast from the past. Lots of wallpaper and old photos lend an "old school" feel. Husband ordered the fried perch which he loved and I had pizza. The pizza was pretty good, it was a thin crust which I don't like as much but the sauce was nice and they don't skimp on the pepperoni or cheese. When we come back I want to try their spaghetti.

This place is an old-style, family-owned Italian restaurant, like you would find in NYC. Not fancy, just excellent traditional Italian dishes. It was founded in 1929, and there and pictures on the wall of all the family members who have run it since the beginning. Interesting trivia: TAT was the first place to serve pizza in Columbus, in 1934.

Old school Italian place with family owned feel. Food was great and service was pleasant. I had the eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti. Pasta was fresh noodles with a tasty marinara and the eggplant was cooked perfectly. House dressing on the salad was exactly what I wanted for an Italian meal. Price point was very reasonable, as well. One minor thing that could be improved, the rolls were nice but cold. A warm roll would have pushed this meal to the next level.

This may very well be the best pizza in Columbus. The hype is real, and I can see why this place has been around for so many years.

Wow, what an incredible place. We were warmly greeted by Marianne, the founder's daughter. The food was outstanding. We chatted a bit with Marianne and her husband (thought his name was Steve but I could be wrong) about the history of TAT as well as other Italian restaurants in the city. They couldn't have been more hospitable and welcoming. I grew up in Columbus but moved away for 30 years until returning in 1990. I've read many reviews about this place but never bothered to go. I had the veal piccata and homemade linguine with their signature sauce. My girlfriend had the Zita alla Sicilian which she loved. The carrot cake was awesome. We'll definitely return!

This family run restaurant has excellent food and service. They also have a long history in Columbus, being one of the first restaurants to serve pizza in Columbus. Members of the family are always on-site in the front of the house and in the kitchen. The attention to detail shows! The pasta dishes are excellent as is the pizza! The non-pasta dishes are very good as well.Early bird specials during the week are an excellent value with smaller portions on great meals!
