My family (there were 10 of us) staying in the Hocking Hills. As we were leaving our lodge we wanted a local place to hit for breakfast on our way home. We found the Village Cafe on a general search as this was about 10 minutes away from our lodge. There is nothing fancy about the Village Cafe. This is definitely a local place and could be updated. Food was good, it was clean, service was solid, and reasonable prices. Everyone was stuffed. Biscuits were definitely the hit of the breakfast and large pancakes.Solid breakfast at a great price point. If you are in the Hocking Hills vicinity, hit a hometown favorite.

We were passing through town this past weekend and ended up stopping here for lunch. It was much more busy than I thought it would be. This place is like a time capsule. Nothing has been updated since at least the 80's. Wood paneling everywhere, wallpaper trim, outdated decor, I've never seen anything like it. It's exactly what you would expected to see in a small town cafe. Service was ok, not great, but ok. Prices were very good which was surprising. My only real complaint was that we just ordered sandwiches and it took over an hour to get our food. There were several tables that came in after we had ordered, got seated, ordered, ate and then left before we even saw our food. Not a horrible place but I likely wouldn't go back.

I do not have a pic as we were starving. I had the roast beef/mashed/gravy. Incredibly good! He had the tenderloin and 2 sides....fries and onion rings. It was enough for us to share and we didn't finish. We got ice cream to go so we could get back on the road. The look outside and inside doesn't matter. It's the food!

Great food for cheap at this little Mom and Pop place! No wait. I would definitely go back for another meal. The homemade pies in the cooler looked delicious! Very friendly and fast service! Stop in if you are looking for good food at a good price.

Stopped into this little place for breakfast on our way out after a girls cabin trip. We were greeted with welcoming attentive staff, hearty portions, and delicious homestyle food all for a very reasonable price. We would definitely stop in again!

Was a very nice place to eat. Biscuits are amazing here! I had the lunch special... it was pork loin breaded with gravy mashed potatoes corn and bread. My wife had a breakfast meal. I looked and tasted her biscuit and I told her next time I'm getting a biscuit here! Service was friendly and fast! You can't go wrong here!

My husband and I were passing through Laurelville so we stopped in here for lunch. We both got the Philly sandwich, he got fries I got hashbrowns. Prices were good, 5.50 for sandwich, 1.75 for potatoes. The sandwich was good made with real pot roast, mayonnaise lettuce tomato, cheese onion mushroom. Decor was very bland kind of like sitting in grandma's basement. Lots of dark wood paneling, dark carpet, dark chairs, dark tables, poor lighting. Waitress was nice and attentive. Lots of locals. Large menu. I thought the experience was OK and I would go back and try one of their other sandwiches and a homemade piece of pie but my husband says never again.

As a local, this is one of my "go to" restaurants. Excellent food, nice portion size, and very reasonable prices. Daily specials are excellent

The food here is pretty simple. It's geared more towards those with simple tastes. Nothing too fancy or spicy. The person who waited on us was very nice, as were all of the other servers. The menu is fairly straight forward, and prices are inexpensive. It's good for those on a fixed income. (Mostly elderly folks were there when we arrived)The food was interesting. My husband was happy with his burger and fries. However, I ordered a roast beef plate, and could barely eat the broccoli and cheese, or the "dressing" (stuffing). The roast beef was shredded. It tasted alright. The broccoli must have been a mix of two different batches- one looked "fresh", and the other was a totally different shade of green. The stuffing was hard on one side of the scoop. The worst part of the experience was the smell. It's absolutely awful. I won't try to describe it, but it wasn't nice. I appreciate those who work there, though. They're one of the few places to eat in town, and probably stay pretty busy. If I come back, I'll stick with the burger! :)

A great little hometown restaurant. It's nice that places like this still exist. Great food and great service. Prices are as dated as the decor. Well worth the stop if you are in the area.
