We ate here Sunday after church; full party of 9. Our waitress, Becca, was awesome. she handled our table full of orneriness with the greatest of ease. Several different salads were ordered and they looked scrumptious and filling. The Manhattan wasn't presented exactly as Grandma would've done it, but I heard it was delicious! I had the special of the day; grilled cheese with bacon and a bowl of hearty tomato soup; better than mom used to fix it. It's a small town cafe with just that kind of vibe. Stop in for a bite; they'll feed you well. Don't forget to try the onion rings !!

I stopped in based in the name only while traveling. Go ninja, go ninja go! The atmosphere is a bit off putting. Middle of the day it's a bit dark. They have a radio and the TV going. Both loud enough to be heard, it's distracting. The salad was premade and could be identified by the fact the bowl it was in was chilled too. It was also just a bagged salad mix from a store. The meals were fantastic though. We had two bacon cheeseburgers, and a country fried chicken meal. French fries were almost $3 each on top of the burger price though. Bill was almost $40 before tip for three lunches. A bit high for the atmosphere. Waitress was nice and friendly though and the restaurant was very clean.

Their fried pickles are outstanding!!! The rest of the food is also pretty good, and very low-priced. The service is kind, and efficient.

I was dissatisfied with the establishment. I chose it based on the name while we were traveling. I wanted a "master" place to dine and this was not it. The waitress was friendly but did not go above and beyond that extra mile to really wow. There were a lot of random menu items and it was almost overwhelming. My husband ordered a chicken philly and thought it would be a sandwich. Instead it was a chicken breast smothered with cheese and onion and pepper. Very oily and greasy. When my husband told the waitress it wasn't what he expected she told him that if it were a sandwich it would have been on the back of the menu. The fries I ordered were given to me cold and undercooked.

Needed to "do lunch" on way to Toledo. Stopped at Splinters and enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The food was good and plentiful. Prices are good and selection of sandwiches and entrees was extensive. Enjoyed a crispy chicken club sandwich. Would visit again if going near Carey.

Great ribs and perch. The sweet potato fries were topped off with cinnamon sugar, yum! To top it off the homemade blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream was the best!!

Stopped in for breakfast again and was definitely pleased with both the food and the service here. I live between Tiffin and Republic so I am not a local but would definitely recommend this establishment.
