I've been coming here twice a week for about a month now. Absolutely love it!! I'm somebody who usually hates exercising and find it hard to keep going. Southpaw has been so welcoming and encouraging to me, the owner, Eric knew me by name the first class and all the trainers are constantly helping and encouraging. I've never been made to feel guilty if there's something I can't keep up with, they give us alternatives so we keep ourselves moving. Always an awesome workout and feel so proud of myself when I'm done! Highly recommend!

Was here a couple week ago with a buddy and we both loved the intensity of the work out and how it was fun also. We both plan to buy our memberships later this month.

So this was my very first experience boxing and it was amazing! The trainers helped me wrap my wrists and showed me all the punches before the class started. They made sure I had help throughout the class so I knew what I was doing. The trainers and everyone taking the class were extremely encouraging and helped me modify when needed. I have ongoing issues due to a previous broken pelvis but was still able to keep up the class. I highly recommend this boxing club for anyone looking for a fun and effective workout!! It worked out muscles I didn't even know I had and I'm still sore!

I came to Southpaw after belonging to another boxing club for about 18 months. Southpaw isn't flashy, it's basically a gym in a big garage, but for me that's part of the charm. I feel like I'm in Rocky when I walk in! All the equipment is in good condition and it's clean--that's the important stuff. The trainers are all very nice and very helpful. Most (all?) are actual boxers, so they teach you real technique and form. It's clear everyone who works at Southpaw really cares about the place and are all very dedicated to planning killer workouts that are fun. Same for the members. It's a pretty close knit group, yet they're very welcoming and encouraging to newcomers. The Saturday classes taught by multiple trainers are my favorite! The general format of the workout is it's a group class with a ten minute warm up (consists of shadowboxing, jumping jacks, squats, burpees, light jogging, etc.) then 3 minute rounds of boxing on the heavy bag with other exercises thrown in. There are usually group activities during the second half of class, or you partner up with someone nearby. Then the class finishes up with ten minutes of ab work. The time really flies by (especially because there are no clocks to watch). The pricing is very affordable with a ton of different options to suit any budget or need. There are monthly memberships or you can pay for a year in full for extra savings. You can also buy a 5, 10, or 20 class pass. That's the option that works for me because I don't live close by, so Southpaw is my weekend workout and I go to another gym during the week.
