South Village Grille

I LOVE this spot!! It's the perfect vibe of chill yet sophisticated! It really suits so many tastebuds too. You can do American, pizza, apps or sushi!! It really has it all. This is my favorite spot to pop in for HH and an app or even for dinner. I started coming here about a year ago and now I go minimum once a month due to its great and welcoming atmosphere! They have HH all week long with apps, wine, cocktails and even from the sushi pop up next door. Their green goddess hummus is probably my favorite hummus in town (only problem with it is I want more!!!) it's deliciously healthy and hearty! I also am a fan favorite of the sushi from the pop up next door. You can sit either side of the restaurant but my personal fav is SVG side at the bar. I really don't mind sitting at a table though bc no matter what you still are in the middle of it all! Highly recommend if you are ever questioning where to go - go to SVG!!

Oh man... someone put these were the best beignets in the country they need to get out more. These were terrible. They are French beignets, not the version from New Orleans. But all of mine were raw on the inside. This one pictured was the most cooked out of all of them. Overall such a disappointment.

South Village Grill gave us a majestic pizza that looked like it came straight out of an oven in Naples! It tasted as good as it looked ....it was a showstopper. My vote for best pizza in Columbus. I don't think my description could do it justice, but here goes. The crust had great chew and texture. The bake on it was perfect and it had nice air bubbles. The sauce was slightly sweet and they used lots of creamy buffalo mozzarella which really kicked it up a notch. The pepperoni was crispy and had great char. I suggest ordering two pizzas. 1. because they are not huge and serve two people max. 2. you will want more after you finish the first one.

We managed to slip in on the Eve of NYE. No small task. I think they are just crowded every night they are open. Monday is $1 oysters. Now that's a sweet promotion (if you like that sort of thing). Our four top ordered a dozen. They were very nice sized, meaty, and came with two excellent dips. I'll come back just for that promotion!Cocktails are well prepared and inventive. I opted for a rye OF. It was excellent. I actually ordered two. Service was impeccable. So nice to see. Menu is tight. Our four top had two dinners, fish sandwich, and a pizza. Each were excellent. You can't go wrong. Great experience all around. We will surely return. (Just don't call me Shirley).

These folks know what they're doing culinary and drink wise. If they didn't do you think they'd still be in business? Look at ALL the restaurants who are no longer here and I betcha you can think of a million flaws and short cuts that those place took that this place DOES NOT! Don't walk but run here for awesome food, service, and atmosphere

Spending more time in German Village lately, revisiting old haunts and hitting up new spots. This one was not on my radar at all before, but I heard it was good, and it gets great reviews. I was down here on Monday and their special that day is meatloaf, so I figured I'd try that. Probably the best meatloaf I've ever had. And that includes places that specialize in meatloaf. Little different than most, a little looser, excellent crust, amazing smoked tomato sauce. Excellent mashed potatoes, perfectly cooked green beans. Just the best upgrade of a classic meatloaf dinner. Didn't take things too far and overdo it. I almost moaned. Service was excellent. The place is a little fancy, and I felt a little out of place in my T-shirt, but I wasn't the only one dressed down, and the server certainly didn't make me feel that way. It's classy enough that you could have a business lunch or a date here. Lots of things on the menu. Slightly hopping at one on a weekday. A few parking spots nearby. German Village is always tough for that.

This is what I miss in America; Service!!! And Southern Grill gave me what I wantWe are here in Ohio for hunting. (I don't like hunting btw)And we were looking for nice and cosy, good quality place!We went to Columbus...And I searched by Yelp. We decided to try Southern Grill!OMG! I wish we are close and I can come here every other day!This is Istanbul style place and service.How enjoyed with the ambience, service and the meals!Our server Sandra was amazing lady who make us comfortable and relax with her attitude and have full knowledge of the menu...And Moly was perfect! She made our drinks which was perfect.I wish I try everything at the menu. All looks very yummy! I don't know when we came Ohio again but I am sure I come back and try your food again. And of course they made me happy when they bring an other margarita for honoring! Thank you dears I appreciated!

Another great spot in Columbus. We sat at the bar, our bartender was engaging and a pleasure to talkToo. Enjoy a nice glass of bourbon (old Fitz) of course poured neat.The spicy chicken sandwich was spot on and the right size. The fries with the garlic dip was perfect as well. This was recommended to me and it delivered on all levels .

We got here right before the dinner rush happened and we did not have reservations but the hostess was very accommodating and seated us within five minutes.We ordered sushi which I didn't get a picture of, it was so delicious. Then our main course arrived, husband had what he said is THE BEST burger in Columbus. I ordered a Beet Burrata salad with salmon which was sooo delicious! My salmon was cooked perfectly.The service was stellar and as beverages went he drank water and I ordered club soda with lime, however the cocktails looked really good so maybe next time will try one of those since we definitely will be back!

A lovely local place, definitely worth visiting. I love their pizzas and the cocktail menu. The stuff is super friendly and helpful. Will be coming back for sure.
