Another 5* experience. Never met a park we didn't like, and The Farm is just exceptional. Even more exceptional if you're under 5!

Always a nice metro park to visit - there's a historical working farm on the property as well. There's lots of different types of paths to go walking on including pet friendly ones. Including a pond that you can walk down by for fishing and birdwatching. And there's an old covered Bridge on one of the trails that you can see from the drive in.

A fantastic glimpse of the past! This metro park has an actual time period appropriate farmhouse and people working and living in the house, a mirror image as it would be if they still lived back in the pre-Revolution times. Making clothing from scratch, farming their own land for food, raising animals - pigs, chickens, etc, home repairs, a true little house on the prairie. The two girls I babysit over summer love the entire. park! The girls can get their hands dirty helping out at the house, as the working family encourage hands-on activities throughout the days. Then, when they've gotten their fill of the house and farm, we head to the new playground down the way, and they can burn any residual energy thaeyve conserved! It's a double win!

This is a fantastic example of an 1880s working farm, including animals and volunteers who dress in period clothing. The volunteers are so friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always happy to answer questions, provide information, and offer demos on how things work and the like. They have made some adjustments for COVID times. The farmhouse is currently closed, and you cannot pet the animals. You can, however, walk around the farm grounds and enjoy looking at all of the animals. Some of the spring babies are starting to be born and are so cute! They have horses, sheep, pigs, ducks, geese, turkeys, cows, chickens, and more. On our most recent visit, we happened to be there when they were moving the sheep from the pasture to the barn, and it was fun to watch them race home in a wooly little pack. The farm is located within Slate Run Metro Park and has its own parking area. They've recently extended their hours for spring, though it is closed on Mondays.

Great place to take the kids or grade kids. Plenty animals to entertain them and a little bit of history for adults or older kids

We've been here several times, and of course to the park too. The farm is a working farm, with a big vegetable garden, pastures, barns, beehives, etc. On the weekends there are costumed interpreters, who are always helpful. In the fall there are pumpkins for sale. Today we took Baby K to see some animals, and weren't disappointed. The sheep were out in the pasture, chickens out in their yards, horses harrowing the field, turkeys, pigs being smelly and rooting around, etc. There were lambs and a new calf. Ducks and geese wandered around. Bigger kids could feed the pigs, build a boat, play games. It's all free (okay, I'm sure the pumpkins weren't,) and a great time for a family. Plus, if you're history buffs like Sweetie and me, you don't even need kids to have a good time. Check out the buildings and demonstrations.

Another awesome Columbus metro park! I get really bummed when a lot of the parks aren't dog friendly but this one has a couple of decent shorter trails for pups! We spent a good 1-2 hours here exploring and it is one of our family's favorites now! The covered bridge is really pretty and the Lake trail is beautiful. This park is also 10 minutes from BrewDog as well!
