Cold Appetizer- Baba Ghanouge- $4.50 Mashed grilled eggplant, fresh garlic and lemon with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. Very good. It came with pita bread that I think they make there in the restaurant or the bakery attached to it. The pita bread was warm and moist. Cold Appetizer- Grape Leaves- $4.95Stuffed with rice. Very good.Platter- Chicken Shawarma, rice, pita bread, choice of side (lentil soup)- $10.95Chicken- Not so good. A bit dry and bland. Rice- good, but just plain long grain ethnic rice. The rice and chicken could have used some more flavoring. The dish was only rice and chicken. No vegetables at all which I would have liked. Given a large helping of rice.Lentil Soup- choice of side, soup of the day- Very good. Spiced with curry.Pita bread- Very good. Freshly made and warm. Only given a half of a piece though.Service- It seemed only one lady was doing everything; cooking and serving. She forgot to bring out a hot tea that was ordered. She forgot to bring us out our pita bread that came with the platters.Men's bathroom- Out of paper towels to dry hands so had to use toilet paper to dry my hands. Out of soap in the soap dispenser. Sink is held up with pieces of wood. Tile piece tore off the wall. A gob of toilet paper is stuck to the ceiling that somebody threw up there when it was wet and it has since dried. This place used to be called Lazeeza and it has just recently (August 2011) changed it's name to Silwadi.

This bakery and the grocery store next door are owned by the same people. It's a smallish store but not as small as your convenient marts. Besides canned and boxed goods, they also sell bread which is made fresh there. And they sell meat which has been butchered using the Halal method. It's a very interesting place.

Wonderful pita bread- made that day and was light and fluffy. Worth the trip just to get the pita. A great selection of spices, curry mixes, cheeses, and Mediterranean groceries. We got there to late to see the other bakery items as it appears that they sell out quickly.

Food was ok. The service was horrible. It took zillions hours to prepare thr food. The entress came before the baba Ghnoush and Falafal. I hade to change th fala fal literally to carry out.. They were frying it literally when I went to amke the final payment. There was no water available. I just bought one bottled water and did not use the glasses available.Rest room was worse.I will never recommend this to any one.
