This gallery consistently blows me away with their vibrant and varied exhibitions. Glass and ceramic pieces are definitely my favorite and they are all represented here, but there is something for everyone. Tonight, for example, we attended a dinner and wine pairing to celebrate a precious gemstones artisan and it was exquisite. The pieces of jewelry had great range, unique design and depth. It was interesting to learn about her inspiration for the pieces, how she sources the stones/materials and the process to create them. There is validated parking in the rear, street parking and nearby garages in terms of parking. The gallery is amongst other galleries, bars, restaurants, and Goodale Park.

Walking into Sherrie Gallerie is like going through the looking glass - sort of. There's always a mix of whimsical/sardonic/wicked work there; it's what draws people through the doors. One of my favorite shows possibly ever in Columbus just ended at Sherrie Gallerie. I walked past one day to see these horridly fascinating human heads. In no time, I was inside, standing face-to-face with the creatures and studying the precision and craftsmanship of their teeth and skin. The heads, created by 'ceramicist' Tom Bartel, were dually nightmarish and comical. I have since become a huge fan of his macabre style. That's the beauty of Sherrie Gallerie. Sherrie brings the best work to Columbus, and people leave the gallery with curiosity. Sherrie leaves you wanting more. It's fantastic!Another awesome show from mid-summer: Problems in Sailing by John Balistreri. Seriously people, if you're the least bit into ceramics, check this place out. Balistreri had these huge pieces in the windows. They looked like planes that had crashed into the gallery floor.Oh, and the most alluring show of them all was a couple years ago. Sherrie had crayon installations by Christian Faur. They were large scale, and the premise was similar to that of a Lite-Brite but with a tinge of Holocaust sadness. The Christian Faur show was my deciding factor; right then, I knew I needed to move to Columbus.

There two things about this gallery that make it a worthwhile visit:1. The front of the house 2. The back of the houseNow here's why. I've worked in the adjacent building for 2 years now and I look forward to the monthly exhibition in the front of the space. They feature the best of every media from glass to oils. Equally awesome the standing back of the house generally consists of a wide variety of jewelry that is affordable of good quality. The type of jewelry varies from silver to porcelain pieces featuring sillohouttes of birds and other animals.I love going to a gallery that feels a bit more like a museum with an awesome gift shop to boot.

Once again, the best gallery in the short north. Visited again on 03/07 for the gallery hop and was absolutely floored by the Julie Elkins exhibit. As the galleries continue to close and the gallery hop continues to turn into a "hookup" scene moreso than an arts scene it is places like Sherrie that keep me coming back.Ms. Elkins - if my finances were better I'd have owned at least one piece. Someday, perhaps. :-)

Love the energy at Sherrie Gallerie! She chooses such fun pieces, most of them by local artists. This one's a gem!

I was struck by a series of creepy heads mounted on walls and seated half tilted on pedestals. It was an exhibit called "Heads" created by Tom Bartel. As a patron, you can only really define a gallery by the artists that present their work there, obviously. So I think anyone who would give Bartel this opportunity must know what they're doing. Sherrie Gallery is therefore cool by association. The prices hovered around the thousands, so I left with nothing but a pamphlet. But if I were a seasoned man-about-town, I would have bought all the heads without regret.

This has my favorite Short North gallery for a long time! Always interesting work of excellent quality and craftsmanship. Sherrie Gallery offers mostly 3-D work. The front gallery space highlights a few artists and exhibits change frequently. The rear section of the gallery is dedicated to jewelry and small sculpture items. Prices are right on target for what you get, as the work is very unique and well made. The things that are way out of my price range are still fantastic to look at.The gallery is very neat, concise, and well organized. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help you. When you visit, be sure to exit through the back door and walk across the alley to the coffee shop... super food & coffee, but if you didn't know about it ahead of time you'd never know it was there :)
