Went in to get a chain. Didn't know size length or design I wanted. They helped me pick it out and even customized it to fit the charm I wanted on it. I've had it for 10 months now and haven't taken it off. No discoloration hasn't chipped or broke perfect since the day I got it and for a great price too. Definitely will be going back best jewelry store I've been to fs

Stopped by to get a ring resized/designed and they are closed until Jan 5th. Seems to be a long time to be closed, not sure I'll wait till then to come back get the work done. It's a family run place and it where my family has been going to get jewelry work done for years. So I'm really disappointed that this trip down to Canal from Columbus was a waste.I've not actually experienced the work of this place yet so I'm holding back on my review. I will update if I ever get the chance to experience their work. However, being closed from Dec 24th to Jan 5th is kind of excessive and really inconvenient. I don't know what reaction they expected to get from people after being closed for almost two weeks.

Stopped in for a second opinion on an engagement ring repair. The ring is 28 years old & prongs for the diamond were worn out. These guys are terrific! He looked at the ring & advises my prongs needed to be redone at $40 per prong. Ring turned out perfect & done in a week. The first jeweler I went to said it would be $850 to repair - I was surprised but it was expensive enough to make me get a second opinion. So happy I went to Shaw & Son Jewelers - they are honest & do beautiful work. Photos don't regret how sparkling my ring is now. So happy with their work!! Thank you!!!

Shaw & Son, a Canal Winchester mainstay, offers pretty much what you would expect from a small-town jeweler. They offer gold jewelry, precious and semi-precious stones and various gifts (watches, jewelry boxes, etc.). They are also able to do jewelry resizing and repair. Though the selection will not come close to the abundance of the large chains like Jared or Zales, the draw here is the romance and personal relationship of buying from an independent jeweler.

This is the nicest jewelry store around! It's small but they have the nicest jewelry and the staff is always helpful and professional. I would suggest this store to anyone looking for reasonable prices and excellent assistance from the staff.

I'm a fan of small family businesses like Shaw and Sons. I love that when i walk in they call me by name (even if they don't call me by the RIGHT name... they still try). I've had several pieces of jewelry from my family sized and repaired, and they were interested in the story behind the jewelry and where it came from. It meant alot since the jewelry wasn't your run-of-the-mill stuff and i knew i wasn't in a run-of-the-mill place. My husband also purchased a set of pearls for me there. They helped him make a (BEAUTIFUL) decision, and i look forward to years and years with them .. the husband, the pearls, and Shaw and Sons.

It has the character of an old timey jewelry store. Perhaps it's the fact that it's in the historic part of Canal Winchester. Possibly it could be the statuettes around the room on the shelves of white haired men making cartoonish grimaces while squinting with a magnifying glass in their eye, examining a jewel. Maybe it's the vintage style of jewelry in the display cases. Or, more than likely, it's a combination of those things and more. The jewelry in the display cases is pretty and classic. However, it's not their custom made jewelry. That you can see by looking through their catalog. Precious stones and real metal are used. The chains come in gold, white gold and sterling silver. Gold chains are a pretty penny, running a couple hundred dollars, but no the most expensive I've seen in jewelry stores. Sterling silver is quite a bit cheaper ranging in price from the high $10s to the low $20s.Shaw & Son also sells pins and broaches. Currently those pins and broaches are 50% off, which could lead to a decent find. Also, they sell greeting cards and pony figurines painted with all different designs.

All my fine jewelry is from Shaw's. They have a great assortment of gems to choose from. If you don't see what you want they get it for you OR make it for you! Lynn has made several pieces for me. He's an artist! He also can make all your old jewelry into some new. You can design it along with him. The staff is always ready to help you. The have nice costume jewelry as well as OSU jewelry. Check it out.
