Sexton’s Pizza

We ordered a pizza on Valentines days and I was expecting a long wait time due to the holiday, being a Friday, and reading reviews about waiting hours. To our surprise, about 10 min after placing our order, we were told it would be ready in 6 minutes. The wait time the website gave us was an hour, so this was a pleasant surprise! When we walked in to pick it up, the smell of the restaurant was SO strong of smoke/something burning. Like the air was foggy... I have no idea how the workers are able to work in that environment. Our clothes smelled like it after standing in there for 30 seconds. Regardless, that is not a reason to take off a star but it was a little concerning lol. The pizza was good! It wasn't amazing and isn't my favorite in Columbus. I think I was expecting a special taste or difference to their sauce and the pepperonis being more charred. The pizza was still good though. Their ranch was delicious, very seasoned. The little side of it was pretty little though for an up charge. I would come back to Sexton's if someone else was craving it but I think I would rather try their burger bar.

This was my second time trying Sexton's Pizza. It's really close by my house so I thought I'd give it a try again. First off, I like the pizza. It's a little more crispy compared to other places, but I kind of like it. However the service and presentation is horrible. After I walked down the street and walked inside, the place was filled with burnt smoke and upset customers. Everyone had been waiting for a long time to pick up their pizzas. What made matters worse is there really wasn't anyone working the front counter which meant you had a hard time getting your questions answered. Literally no one asked if they could help. Rarely did anyone even look up to check the front counter. It literally was a mess.

Once more, Sexton's hits the spot. The 16 inch thin crust pizza remains perfect for two people. Tried the Pepperoni this time and enjoyed every bite. The only downside could be if you're not a fan of the intentionally, slightly burnt "brick oven" style pizza. But if you are a fan, or even on the fence, Sexton's will make a believer out of you.

Damn good pizza! I hadn't heard of Sexton's until I was browsing Yelp over the weekend craving some pizza. While they were new to Yelp, they have great reviews so I decided to give it a go and ordered delivery. I got a cheese pizza with basil and a side of their scratch made ranch dressing. After about an hour my pizza arrived and it looked really good in the box, minus the fact that the ranch tipped over in transit and spilled all over the place. No worries though, I was still about to use a good bit of it and I'm so glad because it was delicious. Love me a good homemade ranch.I loved the pizza itself and I've already told a few people about it. The crust was chewy in a really good way, The sauce wasn't too sweet and it had the perfect amount of cheese. I'm glad I added the basil but I could have used a bit more... at least a few pieces on each slice would be nice. Needless to say, I'm already looking forward to ordering a pizza from here again. Think of this Sexton's as its miniature, side door, grab and go version of its big brother Sexton's locations in Gahanna and Hilliard. We all know about the Barstool review, and I'm sure this location was opened shortly after that to expand and introduce more people to Sexton's pizza. Do I blame them? No. Was it premature? Probably. They only offer one size of pizza which is 16", a typical large. The pizza options at this location are very limited compared to the other locations. Cheese, pepperoni, pepperoni & bacon (Kevin Bacon), or pepperoni, bacon & banana peppers (614). You order ahead on the website, which is pretty corny as it talks about the recent Barstool review and ~how busy it gets, that they might sell out, oh no!~I ordered ahead with a pick up time 1.5 hours later. They sent me a text when the pizza was put in the oven, which was awesome as it helped me know when to leave. The inside is nothing to write home about -- just two employees making pizzas as fast as they can and mitigating the barrage of customers asking if their pizzas are ready. There's a large counter at the front where they place the pizzas ready to be picked up. Look for a ticket with your name on it sticking up from the pizza box and you're good to go. The pizza itself was pretty good, undoubtedly with the Portnoy endorsed crispy charred crust. However, it would be nice if they offered different sizes or different toppings like typical pizza joints.

We ordered the Mikes pizza Detroit style and a cheese pizza. Unfortunately for the Detroit style, the crust was burnt as well as the pepperonis. There's a difference between pizza crusts being a little burnt, which is fine vs burnt crust/topings. I forgot my phone at home otherwise I would have taken a picture. I was with friends dining there so I didn't want to complain about the pizza quality. The restaurant is also quite loud, so having conversations with others is a bit difficult.

This is the greatest addition to our neighborhood ever!! We are big fans of Sexton's Pizza and we're happy to drive to Hilliard for one, but being able to walk is beyond amazing.Super clean, minimal black & white space with a pretty sweet neon sign inside. Huge counter. Plants. It's nicer looking than your average pizza shop. Treated ourselves to an opening day Za of Ezzo pepperoni, basil and a side of hot honey. It was ready for us on time and still hot when we wakes it home. 10/10 recommend. I'm gonna be so pizza fat this summer! Get thee to Sexton's and thank me later!

We got the 614 pizza, delicious, well cooked. As a born and bred New Yorker, I'm always on a search for good pizza in Columbus. I'll say sextons is top 5 for a good pie here.

Told to try this pizza and so glad I did. Ordered early as I hear they sell out. No frills good pizza for sure. Added the fresh basil which was awesome. Ordered for pick up got there a bit early and they were just making it which was fantastic, not sitting there waiting and getting cold. Fresh thin crust well cooked good pizza. Will definitely get again but hoping to try the other locations as well.

The pizza is fantastic. Thin crust, crispy good char on the bottom. Lives up to its 8.1 ranking on the Portnoy scale. The bar, service and vibe at Hilliard location is excellent. Gahanna location has a few tables and two beers on tap more of a pick up location.
