Road Hog Willy's Real Pit Bar-B-Q

My husband and I just discovered Road Hog Willy's and we really enjoyed it. We purchased the sampler with ribs and it was delicious. The brisket, ribs, and, chicken were all fantastic bbq. Make sure you try the corn bread it is amazing! The staff were all super friendly and I was told they remodeled the restaurant recently to be able to seat more customers. We will definitely be back.

The interior is very nice. It's clean and the service was prompt and polite. My wife very much enjoyed her corned beef sandwich (a Rueben without the sauce and kraut). I had a brisket sandwich, which was good. We'll definitely be back.

I had the two meat platter brisket pulled pork, mac & cheese baked beans. The brisket was good pulled pork was tasty. If you put barbecue sauce on it the mac & cheese kind of looked like it was store-bought aluminum pan baked beans were decent. I'd go there again and try some other things.

Returned with a co-worker for lunch and this time I ordered the ribs. Half-rack about 7 bones. Very juicy and falling off the bone. Great smoky taste and great bark. Very good. Will return to get more ribs, probably.

Let me start by saying I love BBQ, i currently travel frequently to KY to eat my favorite BBQ at Sonny's !! I have been to so many BBQ places and I know what's good (at least to me) today was my first time eating here, the staff are kind with smiles and that is nice to see. Service was top notch! The atmosphere inside is very typical for a BBQ place many TVs and booths are cozy! Lots of different sauces to try and all were good. I thought the pulled chicken was excellent and I would buy again! They other meats were average. Sides left a lot to be desired!! They all lack flavor! I mean zero flavor! My suggestion to Road Hog is a few things! 1-add some baby bag ribs! 2- add smoked turkey! 3-make sure someone revamps your sides, they need some seasoning in the worst way! 4-GARLIC TEXAS TOAST, come on, it's a MUST! I was given two pieces of Texas toast (bread was not toast so I can't call it that really) you need a good garlic butter toasted Texas toast!!! My husband said the burger and pulled pork was great, when or if we see some changes to the menu, we will definitely be back!

Pleasantly surprised. Very large portions. The pork had a good smoked flavor but not over powering. Good sauces too.

Best BBQ brisket we have ever had. They have 4 or 5 sauces that they make that just adds to the experience. Pork ribs are SPECIAL according to the wife ( I let her have them because she gnaws them to the bone.) Something she never does. We have been there 5 times and always look forward to going back. Hey it's a drive but when you want the BEST ! Mount Vernon is a nice little town and if peaches or apples are in season - got a place for that.

Such high-quality food and friendly staff! Highly recommend for any special occasion.

Great local BBQ restaurant with daily specials. Nothing better than homemade food and a welcoming staff. We will definitely be back.

I found that the meat was on the dry side, limited menu and high in price. The service was sparse, more of a self serve type.
