I love Tora, this place is very amazing! We got almost the same food like we had last time, the presentation always beautiful and the food was beyond that! My husband and I can't get enough of Hamashi! (Fried fish)If you have a chance to come, please order HAMASHI! THE BEST!!!!!Our server was so kind to, thanks for the cake :)

I popped in to order takeout for me and my sister for a late lunch. We got 3 rolls and 2 spicy mayos. Total was $28, which felt like a good value for the great quality of the food. It was noticeably better than a cheaper sushi spot. We ordered a shrimp tempura roll, Philly roll, and Tora #3. Would eat them all again in a heartbeat. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating and asked if I needed a drink while I was waiting. While I didn't dine in, I have to comment on the dining room because it is SO cute. It feels fancy enough for an anniversary dinner, but approachable enough for a quick lunch during a day of shopping. Definitely found my new go-to spot when I am town visiting my sister.

The food quality doesn't match the service and atmosphere here. Service is really good, but the food is really bad. Tora signature roll is very disappointing me because the shrimp tempura inside is NOT crispy and crunchy at all The rest sushi is just ok and normal. The blue fine tuna sushi is not really fresh, the tuna is too soft. Same for sea urchin. I searched "top rated restaurant" and come here but it's really disappointing, not recommend to everyone.

I had to say that I am not really impressed by Restaurant Tora. We went to get sushi on Sunday when it opened and the sushi was not very good. I used to come to Tora prior to Covid when they had half off sushi on certain days but have not been back since. We were seated right away and given the menu, prices are not too expensive but I did not like the quality of my sushi. I ended up with about five rolls which my friend and I can normally finish but not this week. My favorite roll normally is Sunday Morning with salmon, cream cheese deep fried but it did not taste that good and was a tad cold when we got it. The Spicy Tuna always seemed off. I hate to say all of this as the restaurant has potential but I'm not sure when it went downhill.

You know how when neither you nor your Significant Other want to cook, but have a little more energy than just ordering out, but you don't feel too adventurous, but you want to go to a sit-down restaurant and not just fast food? C'mon, you do. So you have one little place close by that you don't go to ALL the time, but sometimes, when you don't really want to dive into Yelp reviews or even think too hard about your choice, really, but you want a good meal ... you go there. And you have a good meal, and you go home happy. Tora is that place for us. And we think it could be that place for you, too, if the corner of Morse and Hamilton in Gahanna/ New Albany isn't too far for you. It's a far eastern fusion kind of place, with a friendly, calm menu, a very nice atmosphere and good, predictable service. It's clean, simmeringly serene without being a tomb, and nice but not stuffy. There's a competent, though not exciting, sushi bar. There's a good selection of slightly- to moderately-Japanese-style steak and seafood. I like their hot pots, which are mildly Korean: not too adventurous, but very tasty and satisfying. I often get their tofu stonepot, because I like tofu. (So sue me.) It's also good with beef, but not as good with seafood: the shrimp is often just fair and the squid overdone a bit. Their miso soup is more interesting and yummy than the usual, and their salad with house Japanese dressing is somehow tastier and better than what you find other places. We haven't stayed for dessert, because there are too many good ice cream places close by. This always disappoints our waiter, so maybe their desserts are good and worth staying for. Maybe someday. It's reasonably priced for what you get, but I can't call it cheap. Our average bill for the two of us is probably $45 before drinks or tip. We don't usually drink here, so I can't tell you how those prices are.Tora is a nice place to eat. Go there.

We are a frequent at this place but this time it was sooo disappointing. We waited for our sashimi orders for a very long time! I can understand if the sushi chefs were busy but they were not. The tall bald guy was just standing and chatting most of the time, the other one was so so working and the third one was not any better. Even after a couple of follow ups they were not in any rush to complete orders. The tall bald guy even picked his ears with a stick in front of the sushi bar. Disgusting. We will not be coming back. Go to Mr. Sushi instead!

I'm a sushi snob and this is the best sushi on the east side of Columbus, if not in all of Columbus. The fish is always fresh and I've seen them turn away fish from their distributors if it wasn't up to par. If you're not a sushi fan, they have a ton of other options. Might I suggest the lobster miso soup? The staff and owners are top notch and they usually have uni available. PRO-TIP: ask to try some of their craft soy sauce (barrel-aged, etc). Adds more flavor to the already great tasting offerings!

Came here for an anniversary dinner and my boyfriend and I were astonished by the quality and creativity of the menu. The thick menu had so many items that peaked our curiosity and we were NOT disappointed!!! We both love sushi so we stacked our meal with sushi rolls and although I forget the names of them, I can say you cannot go wrong with your picks! We also had some gorgeous appetizers which were delightful as well!Prices were NOT bad at all. Given the atmosphere and menu I expected the dishes to be more $$$ but I was pleasantly surprised. Service was great! Server was super attentive and even taught us a few things about the dinnerware since the plates and teapot looked SO nice.
