I must confess that I'm not as avid a quilter as I'd like. It takes me quite some time to finish them, as I don't really work on them during school season (work). I do like looking at patterns and (even more enjoyable) cool fabrics that catch my eye. RRQ has a pretty good selection of modern prints. Not to mention, the finished quilts hanging all around for visual appeal are great. Many stores are starting to carry more jelly rolls, charms and fat quarter cuts, RRQ having a good selection. There's plenty to traipse and rummage through, as there's always sales and clearance items. If I was partaking in a "supermarket Sweep: Quilting Edition", I could do some serious damage in my wallet.

I have to admit, it's taken me awhile to come around to Red Rooster, but now it's one of my top-three favorite quilt shops in Columbus. In recent years, they've expanded their sewing machine sales, so that now takes up a rather large chunk of the store. Rooster has the best collection of Civil War reproduction prints in Columbus, and the biggest collection of baby/childrens' flannels. Also, I head straight here when I'm looking for Moda Bakeshop items, like Layer Cakes and Jellyrolls. Other shops carry them in Columbus, but often they only have one or two to choose from. Rooster will have at least half a dozen collections, if not more.Gerri Robinson often displays her quilts here. She's a quilt designer for McCall's Quilting, and she lives in Dublin. Rooster is kind of dimly lit, and packed with merchandise. They could definitely use an interior facelift at some point. Many of the projects displayed have a slightly more "primative" feel, which isn't really my style, but it doesn't change the fact that Rooster has one of the wider fabric selections in central Ohio. Oh! And they have the best coupon book of anyone. Head there in December to get yours for the following year of savings!

I love this quilt shop! I've been there three times since I moved to the area, and each time the store's been better than the last. My most recent visit (8/10/11) rewarded me with a SUPER buy on a lovely kit, as well as two books I specifically went there to purchase. I noticed they've beefed up their batik selection (kudos!), and they also had several great lines of Christmas fabrics. The store is very well organized, has beautiful samples, offers inriguing classes, great gifts, and a wonderful selection of fabrics -- especially considering how the small physical size of the shop itself. If you're a quilter, I highly recommend visiting Red Rooster Quilts in Dublin!

I happened upon this store completely by accident. I was in Dublin for a girls weekend and had driven past the store about ten times before anyone in our group even noticed it (the sign is very small and you'll miss it completely if you're not looking for it!). As we're all crafters, we decided to check it out. They have a HUGE selection of fabrics; really pretty much anything you could ask for. They had a nice variety of clearance fabrics as well. Their hidden gem, in my opinion, is their one saleslady (and I wish I remembered her name!) who works the back cutting table. You explained your project to her and she immediately went into planning mode, pulling coordinating fabrics and different options. That woman has an eye for what looks best! They do seem to cater to the quilting crowd and have a large selection of fabrics more suited to that. My only complaint is that the checkout process took quite a while and there were only 2 of us in line.

While they have a nice selection of fabric, the customer service is terrible when it comes to machine service. The staff never knows when the technician will be in, when the machine will be done, or if he has even looked at it yet. The technician says that he does one thing when it is evident that he has not. Multiple times I have brought my longarm machine home after being "cleaned" and "fixed" only to have the same issues. And I have clearly seen that the machine was not cleaned. I live an hour away and when I call to let them know that the issue was not fixed, the answer is "bring it back in" (2 hour round trip). Most recently, and the last straw, was after bringing my longarm in for a cleaning and being told that I was "first in line", there was no communication about the machine and when I would call, the shop tells me they don't know when he will be in and when he was last in. Then, a week later I called to check on the status of the machine and they say it is ready for pickup. When I got there, it was not ready, but he said I can "finish it" at home. After following his instructions, the machine still did not work properly. He then stated that it would need a $700 part (mind you, the machine was not even in the shop at that time). After spending hours on the phone with the HandiQuilter tech line, I decided I would need to find another dealer. The new dealer opened the machine up and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years (he sent me pictures). The tech said he has never seen a machine that bad. So, it appeared that the $300 that Red Rooster required that I pay upfront for the machine "cleaning" never got done. I will not be going back and will never recommend this shop to anyone else.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The store was clean and tidy and as I had a sleeping infant with me, I had to take the stroller in, and most of the isles were big enough to fit my sons (large) stroller. The fabric selection was great and were priced fairly. I'd go back if I'm ever in the area again.

I had preordered/paid for an Ohio panel during the shop hop in September. I was told they expected them in during October. I called the store in November I was told the company was slow turning them out and they were delayed. They expected them in December. The first of January came, I was seeing on FB that many stores had received theirs. Still nothing from this shop. I then saw mid-Jan. on the Red Roosters FB page that they had gotten them in and it was a first come first serve basis. So I called the store. The lady said yes they had them but I needed to wait till my name came up on the list. She didn't even give me the chance to ask if I came to the store would I be able to get it? So I became more and more frustrated by this. While still waiting the first of Feb., I was in another fabric shop who had the panels and since the Red Rooster's FB page said first come... I decided to go ahead and purchase a panel, thinking I wasn't even sure if I was going to get the panel I had prepaid for. A few weeks later still nothing from Red Rooster. I then went to the this store get my money back. I didn't want to make a scene in the store so I waited around til I found a clerk where there were no customers around and very quietly and discreetly told her my situation. I told her I had purchased it elsewhere and would like to have my money refunded, $15.00. She went and looked in a bend they had. It took her a little bit and she found the panel. She went to talk with the someone and came back and said I could get a store credit. I said, "Can't I just get my money back?" I had gone with a friend and she said we would like to talk to the manager. She left and a man came out. Her was loud and obnoxious. He did not even give me a chance to explain anything. He was drawing attention to himself. He said very angrily he would give my money back! As I tried to explain, he cut me off and told me to be quiet, discussion was over and to get out of his store or he was going to call the police! Really?!?!. He kept saying I had been notified. Which I hadn't! While he was trying to refund my money he couldn't find it. While this was happening I'm trying to pull my purchase up on my bank statement. Come to find out there was a slip of paper stapled on top of my receipt that had another woman's last name on it and they had contacted her instead of me! As the man realized this his demeanor changed. Another worker trying to lessen the tension said, "you know we all make mistakes." I said nothing the whole time. I just wanted my money and get out of there as quickly as possible! The man never apologize! I have NEVER in my life been treated so poorly from a store owner in my life! That is NOT what I call good customer service! I will NEVER step foot in that store again! FYI: This is my first negative review. I like to look post positive experiences.

I went into this store hoping to get some help with a quilt I was working on. I'm younger and don't look like your typical quilter. Instead of a greeting I just got glares like I didn't belong. After the icy welcome I got I just decided to pick out fabric on my own. The store was pretty dark but had a decent selection (the only reason why they are getting 2 stars). I found quite a few fabrics I liked and got a little of each of them. When I got home I noticed they were cut a little crooked and measured them. One of the fabrics I bought was 4 inches shorter on one side. I only bought half a yard. That's a huge difference. Luckily I was able to get the amount of squares I needed out of it but I am never going back here. Joann's has cut fabric straighter than this.

First I would like to address all the bad reviews concerning the lighting it has been revamped and is very bright now. The people running the store were super friendly and the selection is amazing. I had to exchange an item and the owner was very accommodating. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service & experience. I needed to have my late mother's sewing machine tuned up and took it here. BAD MISTAKE. That was on March 29, 2019. I contacted them a month later because I hadn't heard anything and was told my machine needed a "needle clamp". They had ordered it without even asking me. It could sew absolutely fine without it. Now they said the part was on backorder from China. Another month, STILL no call from them to inform me of progress. STILL on backorder they "say". So another month goes by and we are into August by now...STILL no word. SO...I called the machine parts supply shop and asked them directly if they had an order for my part. Yes mam, it was shipped on June 17th. Thinking the worst about my machine, I call after ANOTHER month goes by. Now it's Sept. 22. 5 months have went by. I asked if my machine was ready. Yes! It's been ready for two months. WTF? I called you TWICE since then and was told every time that it wasn't done due to backorder. LIARS. So today when I called I said that I had called the sewing supply store to see about the part. The sales lady called me a liar and said that "they would never have given that information out" - well - they did and her name was Judith @ Brewer Sewing Supply. So THANK YOU Judith for helping me! The part was less than $5.00 from sewing supply. Guess how much I was charged? $75.00. For a part that literally gets screwed in with your fingers. I feel like I got SCREWED. Every time I called I was treated with hostility, snobbery and hoity-toity attitude. "Oh...you have an older Bernina" as if it wasn't good enough. It was my mother's, a BERNINA and I am glad to have it. So THANK YOU NOT for holding my machine hostage for 5 months, for LYING to me, for calling ME a liar, for OVER Charging me for a part I never was informed or asked if I wanted to have put on, and for NEVER calling me. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER.
