We went to the Red Door again on Tuesday, October 1. We were surprised that they were busy this early in the week, but the service was very fast. We seated ourselves, and our server was right there with menus and tool drink orders. I ordered a medium-rare cheeseburger, and my wife asked for Italian beef without peppers. We shared an order of sweet potato fries. Our dinner was out quickly and was exactly like what we ordered. My Burger was substantial and delicious. My wife felt the same way I did. This is a neighborhood place with great food and an extensive menu. They also have a nightly special. A little on the dive bar side pulse, they have an oversized patio on the back.

$7.00 cheeseburgers on Monday! I ordered the cheeseburger with America cheese. Choice of French fries or potato chips. Burger was cooked perfectly to order. Juicy and delicious! The service was decent. This is a neighborhood bar/diner. There are plenty of tables and booths to accommodate a crowd. Reasonably priced drinks. This is my go to place on Monday!

This is a follow-up review to Red Door Tavern. Previously I have enjoyed coming here for great food and a good hangout. My last visit was not so good.I live the character of Red Door Tavern, and enjoy coming here with friends. I like the inside of the restaurant as well as the patio area. The service is always friendly and really great, and usually the food is too. The food at my last visit was not very good. We ordered calamari and could not finish it despite our hunger because it was terrible. The breading was bad as was the squid. we also got a burger and an Italian sub, both of which were just average. I am hoping it was just an off night and the next visit will be great, but this time was disappointing from the perspective of the food.

A classic dive bar right in the middle of residential Grandview. A dark bar decorated with eclectic things all over the wall. It seems to have many regulars which is always a good sign. Thursdays are trivia so come in and play while you eat. I ordered the blue cheese burger and it was delicious. Husband ordered the spaghetti special and he said it was perfect. Not too difficult to make a good spaghetti but the fact you can come in and get some home cooking without having to do the work was nice!

Oh man... where do I start... my husband I entered this establishment this past weekend with an older woman my husband is helping to document her time in UA during the forties and she had extremely fond memories of this place.... We ordered our food and my daughter wanted to walk around... and that's when I saw them. COCKROACHES I literally thought that only happened in movies. We spent over $50 on food at a restaurant that had cockroaches. Of course we didn't eat the food really... we had even tried to order milk for our daughter and it was expired. I think this place really could use a facelift and an exterminator and maybe Gordon Ramsey from kitchen nightmares!

So, is this a bar? Of course. "Tavern" is right in the name. But it's so much more.First, skip to dessert. This place carries a million types of Amish made pies. Flavors you didn't know existed. And frankly, I'm not sure how the Amish knew they existed. So save room for dessert. You have been warned. The food: this neighborhood classic has been dishing out comfort food since 1964. And they it really well. Burgers, fish, sandwiches, meatloaf...traditional bar fare done right. The bar: a cozy area in the main room with dining room booths and tables. Oh, and a patio out back where some might partake in tobacco, but as I'm not sure what the rules are about that anymore, I'll deny having said that. Bonus: they have TouchTunes but are often playing great songs on a radio.Bonus 2: this place has on street parking AND a parking lot. What the hell? On this street? Yes!!! Well done, 1964 planning. It's on a COTA bus line, too, for those of us who use transit. Bonus 3: Great staff. Sometimes it takes awhile to get your food order. You know why? Because they care and make it properly, so be cool. Pie is coming later. Pie! Stop in. Try it out. And wait for the Goldwater/LBJ election returns to come in. By the end of the night, you won't care, but you'll have made new friends and had a great meal. By the way, you can order pie to go. Because sometimes you need pie on the fly.

The Red Door has been a Grandview Classic for years... I used to order their salads, burgers or the fried bologna sandwich on about a bi-weekly rotation. It had been about three-four years since I had been in. It till had the old look and smell. The menu hasn't changed, so I was excited for my burger. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match the anticipation. what was ordered medium-rare, came out medium-well. The portions of fries was below average on the accompaniment. This is not a knock on the staff because those that served us were great. We'll call it an off night, and give it another chance to ensure that it hasn't fallen from glroy

We're traveling and ordered in from Door Dash. We assumed a club sandwich and potato skins would be a safe bet. Both were inedible. There were pieces of a fried chicken or fish under the cheese on the potato skins. I can only assume they were fried in oil that needed cleaning. The meat on the club sandwich was like rubber. We both gave up on our meals and tossed the food
