Great food and entertainment!! Staff has always been nice, and I love that I always get the extra thank you on the way out the door! And let's not forget to mention there is boat parking!

Food is not good. Way too loud. Too expensive for the nasty food. Everything is pre-cooked and reheated

It was ok. Your here mainly for the entertainment and bar. You can park your boat dockside or drive up in your car. Most of the food is precooked and stored in coolers to dispersed as ordered. My husband said Sausage pepper and onions were ok. Sausage was smoked wrapped in foil then put in plastic baggie for storage in cooler. Small amount of chilled peppers in tiny condiment cup, same for onions, 2 hotdog buns in baggie as well. So not your typical idea of sausage peppers and onions Stuffed mushrooms were good but we only received 3 small ones for $7. Shrimp skewers were meh. Small no flavor grilled plain surprised since they were labeled Cajun shrimp on menu.I ordered salad and smoked chicken drums, they came wrapped in foil and in baggie from cooler too. I ended just tearing chicken off and eating on top of salad. Salad seemed the freshest it is served premise in foil pie pan.Live music, lake vibe and strong drinks are a good reason to visit, I definitely would like to try something else but will not be ordering the above again.

REALLY GOOD barbecue and home cooked sides in Thornport (Thornville), on the west end of Buckeye Lake.Full bar. Outdoor picnic waterfront seating. Live bands. Lots of lillypads and good fishing right in front of you.And owner Mark Bernhard is a really nice guy.Seriously, what more could you want ...?!?There aren't that many good restaurants around Buckeye Lake, and The Port is really good.Really great food, friendly people, strong drinks, live bands on weekends during boating season, and you can come by car or boat (plenty of docks).Bar is open 7 days. Barbecue kitchen is open Wednesday - Sunday, but NOT Monday or Tuesday.This is one of our "go to" places on the lake ...

Took a road trip to Thornville to check this place out. Got the pulled pork sandwiches platter. Pork has a nice mild Smokey flavor and had the right amount of moisture. It was on a premium small sub bun. All the sides are homemade. The Mac n cheese had a great cheesy taste, just right amount of cheese in it and it was super delicious. The Cole slaw was a creamy style, had carrots, celery seeds,smooth taste, no bite. The baked beans were made with some brown sugar for sweetness. Talked with Mark, "The Pitmaster", he definitely loves what he does. He is all about putting a quality product out for his customer. The also have an outdoor bar with the business. I believe the BBQ business is only open April through mid September. Get out and enjoy some of the tastiest smoked meats around.

All I can say is YUMMY in my tummy. We went to the port for their Lobster event and it didn't disappoint. Whole lobster with a couple big shrimp, mussels and clams. We also got the side plate that had beer bread, salad, slaw and potatoes with seasoned butter The patio was a perfect setting for a wonderful meal and drinks.

Very nice bar with a nice outdoor area on the canal with picnic tables, the smokehouse grill and usually a band and a fire pit. pool table is inside, prices are fail. the only drawback is the restrooms. the mens never has a line but the womens line is terrible long. i suggest making them both either sex so both of them get used instead of having to wait in such a long line. the bands are always good and the smokehouse has lots of awesome food. its delicious and a decent value, we will always return. its also great if you own a boat as you can just go down the canal to the Port and the Amvets is right next door,

Even after pandemic they are still serving food out of plastic containers that they get out of their hot coolers. Everything is packaged in advance- not like before when it came out of their kitchen on a platter. Prices are high for pre-prepared food. Music scene still solid. This place has a nice lake vibe but I sure miss the quality this place once had.

So the food was dry. Have to stand at a stand to order food. Sat at a picnic table. Was told food was good. NOT. Don't go. Mac and cheese was yuck. Dry and boring. Can make better in my kitchen.

Let me start by saying the atmosphere, food and people at the port is the best!!!!! Stopped by Port Lounge & Smokehouse for their fathers day lobster fest on June 18, 2023. Being from out of town, I noticed a handicap parking space located by the AMVET Post 51 building. Being 100% disabled Vet, and have served my country for 20 years active and another 20 years as a AF civil servant, I honestly believed no one would question my rental car with a handicap placard hanging on the mirror. Boy was I wrong. A woman who was part of AMVET Post 51 was playing parking police. She told me if I was not a member of AMVET Post 51 I was to move my car or she would have it towed. I did tell her I was a disabled vet and parking in a handicap space, but she stated I had to be a member of AMVET Post 51 to park in her parking lot even in the handicap parking space. I would have expected this from a private company with limited parking, but not an institution that thinks they are there supporting our VETS. AMVET POST 51 will never get my support. They need to be shut down and that woman needs to find a better job. Parking police is not her strong point nor customer service!!! Next time I am in town I will stop by the Port and really enjoy myself. Thanks to the Port staff for making that day really enjoyable. Food was fantastic!
