Tasty wood fired pizza! The gentleman does it in his small clay/tile igloo oven. He mainly works the circuit during the summer months at different festivals, and he's always got a spot at the Pickerington Farmers Market. Shared their Sausage & Mushroom, opted in their pesto sauce instead of the red. Nicely done! Chewy, soft crust. Could taste the sausage crumbles and pesto - a really well put together pie!! For $7, got a 7 inch pizza? Good buy!

I discovered Pompeii's Inferno at a "Pizza on the Patio" event at Wyandotte Winery. Upon seeing the tiny set up (basically a wood burning oven on wheels), I really wasn't expecting much. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised.PI pushes out some pies out of this oven on wheels that rival, if not beat, most pizza joints with wood burning ovens. The crust is what you would expect from this type of oven - thin under the toppings with lots of joyous air pockets and char-spots for flavor around the rim. The sauce was fantastic and the toppings were all quality. Due to the nature of PI's business (mobile pizza parlor used for "events"), the toppings were a bit limited (hey, they had pep and shroom, so what do I care?) The wait for the pizza was also extremely LONG, but I had to forgive them this for two reasons: this was a VERY crowded event with only one food option and, oh, did I mention I was at a winery? To their credit, PI finally stopped taking orders so they could focus on the backlog and push it out. This may be the wine talking, but that was one great pizza! If PI is near you, I'd definitely check them out (or hey, maybe hire them for an event - this is quality stuff).

Hands down consistently the best tasting pizza my husband and I have ever eaten. We have eaten a lot of pizzas and there is no comparison. Every single time we have this pizza we can't stop raving about it between bites. I can't figure out which is best between the best crust ever and every spec of sauce and toppings. I wish they had a storefront. The only Downfall is it's a little pricey but it's so delish I don't mind paying and because I know I'm gonna get a tasty pie!

I encountered the Pompeii's Inferno booth at the recent "Taste of Reynoldsburg" event. They were making pizzas from scratch - tossing the dough, topping the finished product, then baking it in a portable wood burning oven which looked similar to a grill. They were selling pizza at a $1 a slice and there was quite a line. I had part of slices of chicken pesto, then potato bacon ranch, and finally sausage and mushroom (with fennel!). The crust was light and tasty. The sauce was delicious and yet not over powering. The toppings were delicious. I also saw them making a pepperoni, a margarit, and perhaps a cheese? I didn't get a chance to try them. The folks at the booth informed us that they are doing pizza catering, as well as selling at events like the Pickerington Farmer's Market and others. If you get a chance, try this out. Some people tell me I am a pizza snob. I just think that I have tried pizza so many places that I know what I like and don't like. These folks are in my top 6 pizzas on the far east. For a county that may have more pizza places per capita than any other in the US, that's saying a lot...

Good pizza, reasonable price. We stopped at the Plum Rum Winery in downtown Grove City for a glass of wine and got to enjoy some tasty pizza, too! Hoping they will come back so we can have more!

One of the best and consistent features about the Farmers Market. Fresh ingredients, wood fired flavor, and the right balance of elements. I wish they had a small friendly shop to get this pizza all year round.

Just fantastic, the pizza's were just awesome, and they never once let them run out.. my granddaughters graduation party in Westerville, was a great success and having Pompeii's there to feed a bunch of hungry adults and graduating teens was just what the doc ordered.. I highly recommend Pompeii's out of Pickerington, Ohio for any party or special occasion that is going to require you feed them,,, LOL.. great great food.. D W Conrad,, aka poppa smurf..
