Plaza Pizza

I've been eating Plaza Pizza for as long as I can remember. (40+ years!). When I loved in Newark is was a weekly staple and when I moved to Columbus in 2003 I'd make as many trips as I could just for the pizza. I was worried when ownership changed hands and had heard a few rumors that things had changed drastically. I'd not eaten there since the change but had a major craving this past week. I was happy that I could now order on line ahead of time and even schedule a pickup days in advance(and pay ahead of time).. I had a question and the owners answered me asap and even checked back to see how I enjoyed my pizza.Pickup during this time of social distancing and Covid 19 was a breeze and they'll even bring it to your car if you call them.Pizza review... Pretty damn close to the original taste! That amazing cracker crust... Just enough grease....yum. I did notice a little more spiciness to the sauce but that didn't bother me one bit.I'll be back very soon!!!! Keep up the amazing pizza and service!!

used to be the best in Newark but changed hands and has slowly gotten worse. We now have a favorite new pizza place.Lacking in customer service. Had 2 orders that were wrong.....yes they fixed it but never had that when other owners were in charge.

I like the way they cut the pizza here, and the pizza toppings are always good. Sauce and cheese are average. Not a fan of the crust, very dry, but many others like it. Last time I was there they don't take credit cards... come on plaza pizza let's upgrade this. Nice people.

Tonight, the garlic cheese bread w/marinara took it away for best choice! Mmmmmm.....of course the torpedo and pepperoni pizza is AMAZING. Tonight was a win!

First time trying this pizza. Great new owners. Parking lot on the side. Walk in the front door and smell pizza wafting through. Dessert pizza was the smell that hit me first. We ordered ahead for pick up and was told it would be 45 minutes (on a Thursday night). Our order was ready right on time. A few tables inside for dining or to sit at while you wait for your pizza orders to go. Drink refrigerators along one wall. Menu easily viewable from the entrance. Watch the pizzas being assembled as you wait. Friendly staff greet you and take your order. However, phone in orders are not always accurate. Poor connection?We had three big pizzas for five people. BBQ Chicken is their newest and is very delicious! BBQ sauce, cheese, red onions, chicken, pineapple, bacon, and topped with cilantro. Love how all the ingredients compliment each other. Would order this one again. Everything pizza: sauce, cheese, onion, green pepper, mushroom, pepperoni, & hamburger (except ours came with ham; communication error). Half pepperoni & sausage and half pepperoni and mushrooms (except half only had mushrooms...oops). Nice crispy thin crust pizza that's worth trying if you are in town.

Crust was crispy and the toppings were plentiful. We always love having Plaza Pizza!!

Quality of pizza is good. Two people working drive through window were rude. They should be fired. When questioned, one said, "We are a fast paced business. If you don't like our service, don't come back."Very much correct. It's one and done for Plaza Heath.

I actually generally like Plaza Pizza. Tonight though, I ordered a pizza through Plaza's website. The delivery was going to take an hour - which is fine - it usually takes a while. A half an hour after it was supposed to be here I called. They did not know where it was because it had been picked up by DoorDash. Note that I ordered through the Plaza website, not DoorDash. I requested a refund since it had not arrived and they didn't know when/if it would arrive. They refused to fully refund because DoorDash charged $8. When I noted their website had no indication that DoorDash was involved the manager told me that it was "common knowledge" that DoorDash did their deliveries. I get that Plaza contracts with DoorDash, but if you aren't advertising that, you are responsible for those you choose to contract with. All I wanted was all my money back because I ordered food and didn't receive. BTW - about 45 minutes after it was supposed to arrive it finally did....

Worth the wait! Pizza is crispy and quite delicious!! GF crust is good! One of the best pizzas in town.

One of my favorite pizza places in Newark. Love the pizza. Love that everything is fresh and they have so many toppings I can choose from. Service is great. I usually call the store and order and it is ready in a reasonable time. The checkout person is always very friendly. Recommend to everyone.
