Pilgrim Family Restaurant

My dad would have loved this place. It's where working people can get a solid, stick to your ribs meal at a fair price. In a modest, rather non-descript brown building about a minute off the interstate, you will find some very friendly people, some great food, and a bargain to boot. Parking on site. And while the breakfast crowd was big, we got a table right away.

We got their attention upon walking in the door and were seated immediately. The menu was limited and didn't allow substitutions.They are quick to serve and very accurate, too. Everything cooked exactly as we ordered it. The food was absolutely scrumptious. They make great coffee, too. Drinks were topped off and the obligatory waitress visit accomplished. All-in-all, a five star experience were it not for the nerve racking rudeness. I don't expect long drawn out conversation with a lot of laughs (like the other tables with all the locals). Maybe show a little kindness to strangers? Some appreciation for spending money in your eatery? Hell, any show of dignity would've done. 07/24

Definition of a dive restaurant.Great food served in a really ugly old facility.This place must be 100 years old.The regulars are that old also.No nonsense servers.Reasonable pricing.I go there to feel young.

Stopped here on our drive to Dayton. Loved the service and the food. Large portions served hot. Right off the freeway.

My two friends and I were in town for the eclipse. The AirBnB hosts recommended Pilgrim for breakfast so we went on a Sunday midmorning. It was busy but service was great! I had just a classic breakfast - eggs, bacon, potato, etc. I don't really remember what my friends ordered - one got an omelet. We enjoyed the food. The architecture of the place is pretty distinctive and neat.

Great breakfast! It is the kind of old school breakfast joint my father in law always wanted to go to. We stopped in one day on the way from Toledo to Columbus and we will stop again!

I've never given a 1-star review before. The menu says "Scratch Made", about the only thing scratch made is the eggs. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy, I ordered the country fried steak (CFS) and eggs. The sausage gravy on the biscuits didn't even look appetizing. Upon tasting it, it was quite obvious it was canned gravy - was very salty and made me nausesous. The CFS was definitely frozen having had fresh made CFS in the past several times. The cream gravy on the CFS wasn't fresh either, but not as bad as the sausage gravy on the biscuits. Some friends with us ordered French toast, and that was rubbery. We won't be coming back. I don't see how this place has 4.3 stars unless they're friends of the owner - or maybe food USED to be good.

Food was ok. Place mat was dirty, was replaced. Waitress was leaning over pick up window, my food was sitting there, and she sneezed. She did turn away and put her arm up to sneeze in her elbow. Then turned around and kept talking to someone in the kitchen, breathing over our food. Saw a piece of chicken fall off a plate on the counter and a waitress picked it up with bare hands and put it back on the plate and served it. Person in the kitchen had gloves on but was on their phone pressing buttons. Husband's cheesesteak sandwich had no condiments so had to douse it with the ketchup that was on the table to make it better . His sea salt fries didn't have much salt so he had ketchup on them too. He should have asked for mayo or something so that's on him. Was very cold inside with air conditioning blowing on us. We arrived one hour before closing, was out in 40 minutes. I stopped here because of the good reviews. Would not stop again. Bathroom was clean.

Food and service were great. But on line says this restaurant has gluten free pancakes. Which was my reason for driving here. It doesn't have any gluten free pancakes.
