Peru Taco Bar

Located next to David's Bridal, Peru Taco offers Mexican and Peruvian dishes at affordable pricing. We came in for tacos. Walking in we were immediately greeted by Eli. The main dining space there has five tables in the main area plus three booths. We chose one of the booths which just gave us tiny bit of privacy and additional comfort. Eli brought us waters and complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was excellent and chips were fresh. The menu has both Peruvian items and Mexican items. They are known for their chicken so I ordered two chicken tacos and one shrimp. My husband ordered el pastor and the carne asada. We also ordered a causa de pollo to share. Not knowing what the causa de pollo was (Peruvian dish) we were quite happy when it arrived. Turns out it is pureed yellow potato and yellow chili paste formed into two round circles. Then with their broiled chicken shredded, raw carrot, green onion and a tiny bit of sweet mayonnaise (similar to Japanese mayo) It was the shining star of this meal. Perfect. We shamelessly mmmmmm'd and ooooooooh'd while eating it. (True) Soon our tacos came out. They were well presented and came on taco stands. They looked much better than the last two taco places we went to. We bit into them and they tasted amazing. Our favorite was the chicken with a house green mystery sauce. We left full and happy. 4 star rating only for restaurant not having enough cash to give us exact change and also for charging customers 3% more if they used credit. Service and food were both was excellent, otherwise.

Decided to try this place and although it was not bad at all it could have been a whole lot better. The layout of the restaurant was different. You have tables and then a few booths but it seemed like that were different rooms. I just didn't understand what they were trying to go for. The service was fine but it would have been nice to recommend a few dishes for us to try. We did mention it was our first time visiting and the menu was not fully in English. The appetizer menu was not in English at all. So most people would not know what these items were. They do serve alcohol and the waitress did mention that the wine we selected was on the sweet side, so instead she made a cocktail that was perfect. I ordered what appeared to be basil pasta and I will say it was good. It came with a breast of chicken which was extremely dry. I'm giving 2 stars because the service was good but everything else could and needs improvement.

Service was great. Some things came out fast & others took much longer than I thought they should (cold seafood dish). Overall, I do think it's a bit overpriced but looking forward to coming back & trying more.The Causa de Pollo is just as good as I had in Peru! I'm not always the biggest chicken fan but this is the place to eat it!If you like mulled wine, you'll like their chicha morada! It's honestly the only Peruvian place I have found authentic things like that drink, anticuchos (beef heart skewers...trust me), papas a La huacaina, salchipapas, ect.Wasn't crazy about the mussels...bit overcooked & plain. The chips & salsa are better than at most Mexican restaurants to be honest. Will return!

First off, great service! I was there to place a to-go order and the staff was top notch. They asked if I wanted a drink while I was waiting and didn't rush me to place an order. I ordered the 1/4 chicken with plaintains. The food was delicious. This is a small restaurant with seating inside and a bar. It was quiet but still fairly early when I went in. This is a great peruvian choice up near Sawmill.

I have decided I love fried yucca. It tasted kinda like Chinese yam...and that's medicinal so...by transitive property, yucca must be good for me too :)I love fish tacos! Would have liked a little spice with it tho :/ Did they not give it to me bc I looked weak :'(Service was very attentive! I was also a big fan of what the restaurant had playing on the TVs: prostate medication ads and MMA reruns

The food was pretty good. My chicken had a lot of grizzle and fat in it. But the flavor was good. They make great cocktails and the servers are nice and attentive. The ambiance looks a little dated and tired.

Same experience - awesome drinks and food, friendly service, good prices, completely 100% satisfied.OMG, you will increase the happiness in your life if you order a whole grilled chicken, fried rice (trust me), bacon beans, and the light green sauce (I think it's creamed jalapenos).I love their Jalapeno Margarita - not too spicy, just right, super flavorful. She likes the Perfect Margarita.Folks, this is a gem. Small, family-owned, and the clearly care.Go, just go... you'll thank me. And you'll probably see us there.

We were looking for authentic food and not a chain restaurant for ethnic food. This is definitely authentic as they come. Food was amazing and offer dishes you can't find anywhere else. Great drink selection. Service was on point.

We were in town for a few days, we ate here 3 days. Monday and Wednesday the restaurant was empty very nice and great food but they CAN'T handle big crowds, came back Saturday it took over 3 hours to get our food the waitresses look like chickens with no head, one couple left. I got my food then about 45 minutes later my partner got his. They are not organized ay all! im not exaggerating. 2 stars to the two good days.

really wish we could have better food, service like other reviews stated, unfortunately that's not the case for us. first thing first, the service. it was a dinner on Friday, 3 tables , 12 people were seated before us, with some food and drinks already seen on their tables. we sit down and ordered our food. Tacos and Fajitas for two of us. ended up almost an hour before our food served. and strange thing was, they continued to deliver food to other tables which sit in before us , meaning they even waited much longer than we did. 2. food quality is ok. i mean, they are not bad, made with fresh stuffs, but like some other reviewers also mentioned , not really well marinated , nothing really WOW you as the name of the restaurant 'Taco Bar' . nothing special or at least not to our taste. i think i could enjoy more with Chili's , probably because of my high expectation base on the reviews.my family would probably just treat this first experience as our last
