Pacific East Japanese And Maylaysian

FAVORITE place for sushi, and love the avocado salad as well. The Malaysian dishes are good as well. Love that this location has too many options. Service is always fast

Pacific East in Kent. Ahi Tuna special with pistachios, cashews, nuts and spicy mayo. A Bomb roll - Lobster tail tempura with crab meat rolled with thinly sliced cucumber served with spicy sauce. Assorted sushi. Great service. Super tasty. The salad dressing with great also. No photo of salad.

Ambiance: cut little stop, nothing fancy but nice place in college town to enjoy good food and company. Service: in restaurant is "meh". The owner is always so kind, appreciative a friendly. Food: too not h sushi. Who would have known that in small town Ohio you'd get such great quality, flavors and options. Been eating here since our daughter left tWA to attend Kent State U in 2019. It's now a MUST stop every time we visit. Always fresh, fast and delicious. Prices are very reasonable compared to the west coast. Have yet to have anything that wasn't delicious on the menu.

Visited PEJAM this evening with the family for dinner. Upon arrival, the four of us were immediately seated. A few minutes later, our drink requests were taken. Drinks were delivered and we reviewed the menus. I requested Coke, but was given Diet Coke twice. So I switched to Sprite. As an appetizer, we requested potstickers. For dinner, I requested house fried rice and a spider roll. My wife requested a California roll and small fried rice. My daughter requested an avocado roll and chicken fried rice and my son requested chicken hibachi. The food was prepared quickly and delivered.The potstickers were very tasty and they were served hot. Those were a great start to a great meal. Next, my house fried rice and spider roll arrived and I took a bite of the rice. It was excellent. It was loaded with yummy meats, shrimp, veggies, and rice. It tasted like it was cooked in a wok on high heat with some delicious oil because the dish was fantastic. I'd say this is the 2nd best fried rice I've had. My spider roll was tasty, but not among the best sushi I've had. My daughter finished her avocado roll, but wasn't really impressed with its flavor. My wife loved her fried rice and California roll. My son very much enjoyed his chicken hibachi.Overall, this was an excellent meal. We all enjoyed the food and we will probably visit again.

I took my stepdad here, as he has travelled the world and is SUPER picky. He will only eat what I can only call " bougie" or "fancy" food. When I recommended pacific east, he was skeptical at first.... but we ate together and he said it tasted authentic. It tasted the same as if he was really in Japan again. He was very pleased and comes back and brings his friends. I bring my husband here on dates monthly and we are always smiling.

Very decent! Granted, it was 5:30 on a Monday night, but wow, were they quick?! I was seated and served immediately by very kind wait staff. The sashimi was delicious, and I appreciated the abundance of ginger. I never get enough ginger. The sashimi was plated elegantly, and it was fresh and flavorful. Ambience is casual, and at the time, there was an easy listening station being played which added to a relaxing dinner.

Cozy dinner place with good carry out options as well. Lots of GF options for my partner.

Update! Got the Laksa. I literally stumbled on a Bourdain YouTube vid of him in Malaysia eating "laksa" at a street restaurant. One day later I'm in Kent and there is a Japanese/Malay place that I've eaten at before, and loved. This place.And they had laksa on the menu. Asked the waitress which should I get, the Miso Ramen or the Laksa. She said get the Laksa. It was delicious! Had the square wheat noodles, perfectly cooked, great texture and bite. The broth was a fish stock, deep brown, wonderful flavor, and along with the noodles, a few shrimp. Some thinly sliced red onion. Bean sprouts. Cilantro. Few other things, broth not hot, but spicy in a rich delicious way. Wife got a couple spring rolls and a salad with the ginger dressing. She loves that orange ginger dressing you find in some Asian places. We even bought a small container to go. $3! Gave the waitress a good tip for the GREAT tip on the Laksa. Ate every bit, except for all the broth. Wife had some too. She liked it, but is more a Korean Shin Ramen type person. (Oh, and quartered hard boiled egg in it too )I loved it. Kent is a great place to just wander, grab a bite or a meal, admire their predilection for squirrels (yes, squirrels) and grab a beer at one of the cool bars. Give stars for the restaurant. And four stars for Kent!

Got take out, came with a long black hair in my food. I'll give it 2 just because my other items tasted okay.

Terrible literally no cream cheese or crab meat sold me basically fried dough with nothing inside smh I will never come back !
