On Tap Grille & Bar

I grew up in this area and On Tap was a favorite restaurant of not just my social group but also my parents social group, so about 30 yrs ago, we came here a lot. Lots of good memories. The weekend before Thanksgiving we were in town for a dog show and decided we wanted to reminisce and decided to dine at On Tap. I realize that three decades have gone by but the outside looks identical. I was happy. We went inside, not what we remembered but still nice, more a modern take on what it was and a bit more bar centric. The staff were friendly. We decided since we had dogs in the car, it was best to put in a take away order and wait in the car. As we looked thru the menu, we were a little disappointed to find that many of the menu items we loved had now been removed. Once this used to be a menu that was heavily weighted with greek items like souflaki, sauganaki, etc... those were gone. The menu was very americanized... but still had gyros! Yay us!! So that is what we ordered. About 15 minutes later our gyros with fries came out. Gyros were a good size and were pretty good, but weirdly had no lettuce. Maybe we needed to ask for it. Who knows. Still tasted great but not the On Tap of my childhood. I kean.. hey.. it has been 30 years. Lol.

I grew up in this bar and have many great memories of this neighborhood staple. So, we stopped in to grab a gyro on our way out of town.The service is still great along with the environment they provide. Great location to sit and enjoy a drink, some friendly conversation with friends, and watch all the games on a number of TVs. Great beer and drink selection. However, I was disappointed in the gyro. It used to be very good. Now it is just bar food. Just some slices of gyro meat on a pita with a few tomatoes and way too many onions. It was not what i remember. The pierogi were very good and I recommend them. Fries were also decent. They also have a wing buffet on Monday.I am sure I will be back again, but will order something other than the gyro.

Haven't been here in many years and was delighted to find the expansion of both the physical plant and the menu. I ordered the absurdly sounding pulled pork tacos with fried onions and coleslaw (a concoction that would never grace the plate of a true Texan) and found them tasty though the wheat tortillas seemed misplaced. Mom had a patty melt and enjoyed it and a soup and sandwich combo completed our table's orders. Our waiter was solicitous and friendly.

Stop supporting chain restaurants. On Tap is Always fun food, great burgers but enough other menus items to make the whole family happy. Cold beer with enough good draughts to make the most ardent beer guy happy. The service is good, the daily specials are easy on the wallet. Stop by... locally owned and favored.

On Tap is a very solid option if you're not necessarily sure what you're in the mood for but want some American bar and grill comfort food. While there's no shortage of similar spots in the area, I think On Tap is superior to probably its closest competitor, the Basement (no offense to them).The drink menu is large, including cocktails and lots of drafts. I especially enjoy the top shelf long island and red sangria. There are lots of options for appetizers, including a build-your-own platter. I find the fried zucchini a bit disappointing--kind of bland and watery since it comes in big planks, but everything else I've tried was good. Homemade sauces are the star for boneless wings, and the broccoli groovers were pretty . . . groovy. Other menu highlights: the French Dip, any of the Mediterranean plates, the smash burger, and the chicken sandwiches. We recently had tacos--very much a "white people taco" experience--but we knew what we were getting and enjoyed our meals (blackened mahi mahi and blackened chicken tacos were the order). The patio is what really sets On Tap apart. It might look like an unassuming strip mall from the road, but they've done a lot of work to make the patio very inviting, including placing heaters and at least one fireplace outside for cooler nights. Lots of umbrellas provide shade from the sun, and even though State Road is busy, it's not loud or too close to the road. The patio is spacious, too, so even during busy times, there's usually an open spot. I appreciate On Tap for what it is--a reliable go-to, like Applebee's but better in pretty much every way. Also a good place to watch sports.

Went here to check it out with a friend. They were playing the OSU game, and they were a lot of people but not a long wait. It was clean, and the service was friendly, even though they were slammed. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. The cider and the Apple butter old fashioned were yummy.

While the environment was cool, and the service wasn't bad, the food was not great. I ordered a small cheese pizza to split with my aunt and it came SUPER undercooked. Like, sticky and doughy at the bottom undercooked. One of the ladies we came with ordered a sandwich, and there was hair in her food. While I understand that that does happen, I don't think the pizza was acceptable. The only upside was that our waitress was extremely sweet about it and gave us a discount and whole new pizza. Our go to! BEST salads. Very large and fresh and they let you make modifications without nickle and diming you. Great food and great service. Tried a chicken sandwich recently and was slightly disappointed that it wasn't larger. Fantastic servers too, Sadly their wonderful popcorn did not return after Covid.

On Tap was a fabulous place to eat and drink, however their recent decision to remove their beat flavor for their wings has us looking for other options.. The Creeper sauce was our favorite and the servers all tell us that many customers have complained, however management simply ignores them. We will now be seeking other places that offer a more diverse and better flavor, as the current selection is now quite bland and flavorless. Ive not seen many more stupid management decisions in my times eating out as various restaurants.

There's a killer sun in the west if u sit outside on the patio. The umbrellas are no good, because they can't be adjusted. A bit pricey.
